  1. Excellent....much appreciated! Thanks mate! C
  2. Pete- I've binned EZCA for the moment- keep getting some conflict I do not seem to be able to remove. It starts shuddering and the only resort is a complete FSX shudown. I'm hoping this goes away with 2.0 when it comes out. For the moment I've gone back to mouse look and it's workable but I need to be able to activate it without using a control button- limited with my PFC console............I'd love to be able to consolidate it into just the mouse by pressing the center wheel button to activate rather than the space bar. Is there any way FSUIPC can "see" the center mouse button- that would solve my issue...................strangely enough FSX "sees" it in the control assignments- but it will not work- even though the command is "written" in the FSX control menu. Ta! C
  3. I'm looking for a way to have the center mouse wheel (button also by pressing) control mouse look. I would like it to activate when pressed, and deactivate when released- as modeled in EZCA. Will gp back to manual reading but am hoping for a quick fix ;) C PS- read the bit about where the mouse look functions like the space bar push in FSX. My issue is that I have run out of buttons on the left yoke handle (PFC) and would like to map THE CENTER MOUSE WHEEL BUTTON to turn on mouse look- either by FSUIPC or by generating a keystroke (space). The mouse button is NOT read by FSUIPC at the moment.....afaik..... can this be done? Ta!
  4. Pete- Check out your FSUIPC documentation (latest version) starting on page 30. I am in contact with Andrew and have his latest stuff....but your bit got me interested in re. programming for the NGX. Would LINDA be a viable option? Ta! Carl
  5. Aerosoft Australia- the 747 MCP, EICAS, EFIS boxes.....
  6. Pete- I have Mel Ott's glareshield complement- and use the FSLabs driver to run it in the PMDG744. I was reading your documentation over, and noticed there was a section about the Aerosoft stuff. Is it possible to have it operate for other airplanes as well (read the NGX)? If so- any pointers would be most appreciated! Ta! Carl Avari-Cooper
  7. All working as wanted with the PMDG NGX and 744X! Just wanted to add a post here in case someone else is having difficulties setting up the PFC stuff. I do NOT map throttle axis in FSUIPC. What is very important though, is that in the PFC setup, I map the throttles as follows- For the LOWEST setting I use the indicated lowest (just pull the lever back and select what it arrives at). That way there is correct indication at the lower end where just a little throttle gets you moving and you can finesse them to keep at 10kts w/o riding the brakes. For the HIGHEST setting I push them to the stops and then back them off until the wide (base) part of the lever is at the bottom of the N in OPEN. That gives me a definite null zone. I advance throttles, stablize engines, depress TOGA and smoothly move the throttles to the stops- that puts them back in the null zone. Auto Throttle works perfectly. Then when I want to go back to manual throttles, I cancel AT, and swiftly move the throttles to the approximate N1 position. Works perfectly- no engine surging and NO AT PROBLEMS. This works for ME- your mileage may vary- but at least there's a starting point. Thanks Pete- couldn't do it without YOU!
  8. Pete- I understand your position- I however, only fly PMDG's 747, NGX and RealAir's Turbine Duke (in that order) with any regularity. Truth be told the NGX has been accumulating 80% of my hours as of the past year........the keys are mapped the same in the 3 aircraft........I suppose the benefit to using the FS controls would be that they would be universal- but I'm not sure that they are the same for custom a/c. For instance, the #1 fuel cutoff in the NGX is currently Ctl+Sht+F1......... does that compare? Ta! C
  9. Sorted- Brilliant Software- idiot pilot- as usual! Cannot use keyboard arrows....fine w/ F keys and normal key strokes. Thanks Pete !!!!! C
  10. I'd concur- his work has permitted the masses to enjoy FS as it was suppose to be enjoyed. He is dedicated, polite and keeps his shoulder to the grindstone at an age most want to meander through green pastures. It is that very dedication that allows us to achieve the willing suspension of disbelief that most strive after in our simulator experiences. It is his behind the scenes hardware/software interaction that allows us, albeit briefly, to dim the lights just so, and hit our ETOPS/EROPS points just so- while sipping on coffee at a supposed FL390. BRAVO ZULU PETER! C
  11. Pete- Getting sorted with the PFC stuff. One of the things I want to do is use the start switch (left and right) to change views in the VC. Then I want to use the Cowl Flap switch to change views (Forward Overhead and Pedestal) in the VC. I was successfully able to map the yoke switches to views the way I want them (Right- Front View) Right Upper Rocker (MCP) and Right Lower Rocker (CDU). The left switches I have left at default (Trim UP & Down and AP Disco). Also, I mapped the Fuel Boost as Cutoff + Idle so that works fine. Why am I not able to send the commands I want to the views from the switches (they both are spring loaded/momentary)? Everything else is working the way I want/need. I'd add- this is with the LATEST PFC and FSUIPC (paid) drivers, and with the NGX + EZCAMERA. I can send the very same mapped keystrokes with the keyboard, and the views change just fine- so I'm thinking the Console is still sending the Cirrus Commands (start, cowl etc) and perhaps I should uncheck the Cirrus Console tick box in PFC? I do remember reading in the PDF that FSUIPC is supposed to override ANY Cirrus setting......... Thoughts? Ta! C
  12. http://aerowinx.de/forum/ Hardy Heinlin made PS1.3 (IMHO the definitive PC 744 simulator. He is currently developing PSX. Well worth a browse if you have a fondness for the Fat Girl :) Best- C
  13. Pete- To clarify....they work with the PFC driver.....I just am not getting the "matching" ability I used to. In essence, if I had a motorized TQ they would be working perfectly! I appreciate your thoughts and your attention to this matter. Consider it closed. Again, I remain most grateful for your NUMEROUS contributions to our hobby. When Aerowinx releases PSX I hope you will consider writing a driver for the PFC stuff. I'd gladly pay for one. Best- Carl
  14. Pete- The Autobrake system logic looks for several conditions, one of which is FULL ground idle. There must be some interaction preventing this when mapped through FSUIPC. It sees the axis correctly when used via the PFC driver alone. C
  15. Pete- Assigned the throttle axis' in FSUIPC and the Autobrake stopped working after landing......so I'm back to just the PFC axis.....it's fine until I want to disengage AT....I used o "match" throttle position and then disengage. I guess I can select the main screen box of movement disconnecting AT.....but there will be resultant surging. As long as I'm decisive and swift, I suppose I will be minimal. If you have any other suggestions I'm open to them.....just not sure why the differen behaviors..... Best- Carl
  16. Pete- Will do that and report back! Thanks, hopefully that will fix it :) C
  17. Hi Pete! Thanks mate- that was QUICK! I have been a registered user since 2005. Yes, I knew about the assignments but being new to PFC was (too) cautious about moving axis..... Should I do so- mapping in FSUIPC do you think the "interaction" would eliminate itself? I'm not sure why it works with FSX mapping (CH Hardware- using FSUIPC only for button assignments) while it does not with the PFC (your) driver........? Ta! C
  18. Hello- I just transferred to all PFC hardware and was very successful with the Turbine Duke. With the PMDG NGX a bit less so. I am able to utilize it and fly with it- but in re. the AT behavior- despite the PFC box not being ticked to override AT and despite the PMDG AT behavior being selected to NEVER- any more than microscopic movement of the throttles results in AT disengagement. Would it be possible to re-write some code to allow for the throttles to NOT override the AT- no matter what. I used the CH yoke with the built in throttle (actually mapped to the mixture axis so that I could have Spoiler, Throttle, Flap axis) and I could move the levers to MATCH the throttle position BEFORE disengaging the AT without issue- every time. I miss this! Pete- hope you had a great vacation and welcome back- actually missed ya :) Carl Avari-Cooper
