  1. Hi,

imo you don't need to replace the FScene textures

The FScene replacement textures are of exactly the same size and format as the default ground textures. You will see exactly the same level of performance after installing FScene.

    If still like:

Use the backup of that texture folder you made when installing FScene.

    Thanks,

    ruud

  2. Ton,

to get the earth picture in FSX push F12, you can slew (Y) to any place. With + or - zoom in/out.

Glad you found the winter! and if somebody needs to know, they can refer to this our chat.

As for your Microsoft remark, please ask Microsoft. But helas, the folks who made it

have all been sacked, so you have to live with it

  3. Hi Vincent,

Yes. UT changes the landclass. FScene4X replaces the ground textures in Flight Simulator and just as the default textures will flow to match the ups and downs of the terrain so will FScene.

The changes in seasons are automatic indeed.

    Thanks,

    ruud

  4. Hi again, thanks for all your work on this.

    I don't think it's your PC.

I also made some tests, below find my weather settings.

The first trip started in EHBK, where i found a lot of snow , but it indeed disappeared

    after some time.

The second flight started in Zurich and there the snow did not disappear.

(could you try the zurich flight once more, with these weather settings?)

I think the reason is that the FSX engine decides where snow can be expected under

the weather conditions i selected and so the snow had to disappear (melt ?) consequently.

Please look at the screenshot I made during the Zurich flight:

    snow-world.jpg

Hope to hear from you again,

    ruud

  5. Ton,

(voor andere gebruikers van dit forum antwoord ik altijd in 't engels-hoe beroerd ook)

If winterwonderland disappears, you could try and fly in winter season without winterwonderland.

For some reason Schiphol Airport is in a no snow area (FSX settings).

More east in Europe you'll find snow in Europe.

I once tried to set the seasonal settings with a very low temperature in winter and

I indeed got snow around Schiphol.

Please experience a bit and let us know. Very interesting point for all users I think.

  6. Hi,

No, to the contrary, you've got the very latest edition from Just Flight.

It's my mistake: I should mention ( and will) that the Just Flight version

    works fully automatically.

Just follow the instructions in the Just Flight booklet.

    Hard winter:

You can check this ( fly a over country where winter-seasons are common):

In the main FS menu select:

    world

    weather

    winter wonderland

    Thanks,

    ruud

  7. Hi Dave,

    :? complete mystery.

    you wrote before:

    >> I have found a config file with the time and date I loaded the software on <<

I seem to have overlooked that info you gave me.

Can you tell me where I can find that config file, so i can check it here?

  8. Dave,

In the (FScene) FS9 installer the line should read something like:

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9

or the one appropriate to where you installed it.

    (do not mention more subfolders)

    Hope this helps,

    ruud

  9. I do appreciate all your help out there. Have tried running the repair exe, but still no go. When loading into FSX the input line shows [ C:Program files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X ] Should there be further parts to the path? I have FS9 set up to run as administrator and have made backup files as directed. Hope this bit of info helps.

The FSX input line is correct, don't add anything there.

  10. Hi Dave,

this should not happen. For now I see no reason why it happens.

Before we try another way, please check this if you use Vista:

Be sure you have full administrative privileges in Vista.

If that does not help, mail me again. I will help you out anyway!

  11. Just to make sure you are a registered user Dave

The installer should do the job almost by itself.

This program will place a new folder named "FScene4X TotalPack (FS9+FSX)" on your desktop.

In that folder you will find the 2 installers. One for FSX and one for FS2004/FS9.

You open that folder and activate one of the 2 installers you find in it.

Click through it, It should find your main FS-folder and place the FScene textures in the

    correct FS- subfolder.

(No need to help the installer finding it).

You can always send me a PM if you need more help.

    Thanks,

    ruud

  12. of course there should be a lot of difference in what you see in FS.

In order to help you, please let me know the exact title you bought, your full name, the shop you bought it from and the

    date/order# you bought it.

    Thanks,

    ruud

  13. Hi all,

just a reminder from an old news item:

    ========================================

    FScene4X first patch Australia/Nw-zealand.

Pleasant news for FSX users of FScene's replacement ground textures for Australia and New-Zealand.

Ruud faber, the designer of this well-known addon for microsoft's Flightsimulator X informed us

that some textures of the FScene4X pack for this part of the world had to be improved.

As of now all users can download the free patch from the FScene website or

    direct using this link (5Mb):

Users of FScene for Flight Simulator 2004/FS9 should not install this patch.

    ====================================

    Thanks,

    ruud

  15. Good Economic News From FScene

In this unpleasant time of recession the flightsim world could use some pleasant news indeed. Well, here it is, from the desk of Ruud Faber of FScene. Short, and good. The prices of MegaPack and TotalPack have been lowered considerably. For full details please refer to the FScene HomePage.
