Well, the good news is I found the Cushman scenery (thanks Joe)
Bad news, I'm guessing my payware mesh is interfering with Orcas. The mesh is just too good to uninstall, so unless I find some way of disabling just the Orcas area, I'll just have to live with the anamolies. :(
-
Now, the more I think about it (no, I don't think before I post) :) It may be my Extreme Landscapes mesh interfering with the smooth transition between the two textures in the second picture you see.
However, if the first picture looks funny too you as well, then that blows my above stated theory. If that dirt strip pic looks normal to you, then I guess it's just the mesh and I have nothing to worry about :)
Edit: had pic orders mixed up, fixed now.
(Also, in interest of not starting a new thread: Does anyone remember where to get the file that adds a water tower to Cushman Field? Or is that included in the great Joe Watson rendition that I have to re-DL)

I recently did some reinstalling and can't tell if my textures aren't quite installed right with KORS textures. What caught my attention is the obvious line between texture quality right off of the runway and then the overall lack of definition of this dirt strip in the very SW area of addon.
Can someone who has this installed tell me if this looks normal compared to your results. (I used summer textures for clearer pics and have global textures massive and terrain texture size full right)

So does FSW update the weather when ActiveSky loads in another weather station with different weather or no? If I start a flight in rainy Seattle and end in sunny LA, will ActiveSky not show the update since I am running FSW?
-
That is indeed a good one.
My absolute favorite is this one and I think you'll like the music selection as well.
-
I believe the additions are new muted road textures and the ability to turn off all roads, major, minor or both going over water.

Jarm, I have gotten that problem several times. I'm sorry to report the solution seems to be different every time.
Last time around, I deleted both entries in the library, shut down FS9, restarted and loaded Orcas directly. That worked. Prior times, I have had to remove the from the library AND do a complete reinstall of Orcas.

Awesome job!
The first solo is certainly the best. Since then I've soloed and got my private rotorcraft in addition to the fixed wing. Now, I'm going instrument with rotorcraft.

Your framerates must have been crawling with all those clouds :P

Nice early am flight with great weather.

Well, let me be the first guinea pig to tell you that this patch results in my FS9 crashing to desktop as soon as I get the splash screen. Prior to that it gives me two warnings about my registered FSUIPC causing some aircraft and software not to work.
I created a restore point before I installed the patch. I hope it works....
Edit : FSUIPC 3.4 seemed to resolve the problem. Other issues may be FS genesis mesh and having to reinstall all cloud and water fixes.

I can't tell how large an area it covers, but if all those screenshots were from one product, that would be impressive. I like the Georenders, but find them a little limited in scope as far as improving the landclass in a large area around the field.

EFC824...Sokol....10/4/04.../10/6/04
Was my favorite 2 legs so far. Started out with fair weather on the ground with strong headwinds aloft. The first leg I was doing about 265 knots GS, and the second leg about 345 knots GS. (both at 38,000) Almost immediately upon turning on the second leg, the weather worsened and the pics will show the rest.
Travis- thanks for the impressions on the 707. If you're flying her again, can I have a screenshot request for incockpit :)
-
While on the subject of some of the great a/c you have....
How are you liking that 707? That picture of it taking off is almost enough to have me buying it. Never really saw myself as a payware big iron guy though.

Holy cow, those next gen cards are amazing. My 9800XT looks obsolete next to those numbers.
-
Great pics. Those are some great aircraft. Thats a fun idea to go through them like that. Keep them coming!
-
Thanks Lou. I just got this aircraft recently, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I spent 2 hours the other night just doing touch and go's, which no other a/c has had me doing for awhile :)
If I had the money, I would be all over that stormscope.

EFC824...Eareckson....10/2/04...10/4/04
Had two great legs in the Cheyenne. I'm not sure what the crosswind limits are in that aircraft, but I think I got close in Atka, Alaska during a fuel stop. 30 knots right at my 9:00. Because of the fuel stop in Atka, I ended up staying the night there. At 6:00am the next morning, I just overflew Adak and then went on to Eareckson for a beautiful extended sunrise flight because I was going straight west. Enjoy the shots.

If your looking at his repaint under construction website, that looks like a Diamond Katana at Emma Field.
-
Hmm, interesting, I understand what you mean. I may go with the X version anyhow, only because I don't usually fly the big commercial iron, so a bigger private jet may be just the ticket.
-
I'm flying the Cheyenne right now and loving it. I'm yet to purchase the jet, but am going to once I get my feet wet with the Cheyenne.
Can you put a finger on what makes you lean towards the Citation II? There seems to be much more info and reviews on the X (all positive), so I haven't read much about the II.

Well, I've made my decision, and as usual, once I started really shopping around, I couldn't narrow it down to one. So, here's my line of thinking. I own the best ultralight through Emma Field, and I have Carenado's Piper Dakota through Extreme Landscapes(I love the Dakota). Therefore, if I get a business twin and jet, I'll have most classes covered with quality payware.
So anyway, I'm going with:
FSD's Piper Cheyenne
and
Eaglesoft's Citation X

Thanks for the run down of your experience David. It really helps to know from those that have tried them.
I agree about the Seneca's panel, it didn't seem as nice as some of their other aircraft. Thats why out of those, I would pick the Cheyenne.
The King Air 200 seems interesting, but the framerates would definately be a concern. I have a 3.2gig, 1gig ram, 9800xt machine, but with a cloudy day on approach into a busy (MyTraffic) airport, I still get fps in the teens. So I definately want to be careful with getting a plane that will drag that down to unplayable.

Thanks for the tip Dale, unfortunately, no dice. It was set at 19, so I bumped up to 20 and back with no results.
And as usual with FS9 issues, this one is snowballing because it turns out Abacus Extreme Landscapes is not showing up in my Add/Remove programs folder. The software has no built in Remove feature so I don't know how to go about deleting it so I can do a test to make sure this is the issue.
(EDIT: Looks like I may be able to remove it by going through beginning of install process, so we'll see if this program is the issue or not)
