  1. Hi Mark:

Congratulations on your progress with Helo flying. :D

FYI: Links to LAGO scenery reviews by Andrew Herd and others (... I fondly remember these and some at AVSIM over the years ! ):

  2. Hi Mark:

Before adding a 3rd party key-press / keyboard macro scan code insertion utility to the mix, in FS one can have a key press on a physical keyboard and a button on a controller BOTH mapped at the same time... to achieve the same function when executed.

Although I am not personally familiar with the newer ThrustMaster controller utilities, IIUC, such apps all work somewhat similarly in that they insert key-press / keyboard macro "hexadecimal scan codes" into Windows DirectX subsystem via hardware and software interrupt calls independently of the keyboard mapping functions of FS itself.

Thus, one must be careful to not duplicate keyboard mappings with a 3rd party key-press / keyboard macro scan code insertion utility which are already used by FS itself, or there may be conflicts when controlling FS.

    IMHO, unless one needs a sequence / string of letters in a 'macro' inserted by a 3rd party key-press / keyboard macro scan code insertion utility such as the ThrustMaster controller utility, it is best to use the FS9 Main Menu > Settings > Assignments on both Buttons / Keys and Joystick Axes tabs;

    * First set the controller currently being "configured" in FS9 under "Joystick type" when assigning Axes, Buttons, and Keys.

    * Next set the controller's assigned Axes, Buttons, and Keys for that "Joystick type" (which can be a keyboard, joystick, HOTAS, rudder pedals. etc.)

However, if there is an Axis or Button on your ThrustMaster H.O.T.A.S. (aka "Hands On Throttle And Stick") which the controller mapping functions of FS cannot access, consider using key-presses which are not already assigned in FS when configuring the ThrustMaster controller utility software.

    [EDITED]

Otherwise, in addition to conflicts at the system level involving "hexadecimal scan codes" for controllers, one may create a highly complex scenario for FS to sort out, and ones 'custom' FS controller assignments would be lost if FS ever had to re-create the FS9.Cfg file (...keep back-ups !).

    [END_EDIT]

I would recommend with your more specialized interests involving multiple controllers, that you use the controller configuration functionality of Pete Dowson's payware version of FSUIPC:

    http://secure.simmar...keywords=FSUIPC

NOTE: FSUIPC3 is for FS9, and FSUIPC4 is for FSX

You may wish to review existing posts and inquire about such issues in:

"FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules" http://forum.simflig...dowson-modules/

Hope this helps some more !

  3. Now, see, I'm currently flying a series of hops around the Seattle area while waiting for my cameraman to catch up and shoot a documentary series about a well known developer. Problem is, he's broken himself, so I'm spending my time while scouting for photo trips looking for places to build little places like this one...

    <blatant advertisment follows...>

Which is, of course, available here: http://www.ianpsdark...bt/IJP_IPBT.zip

    <...end of blatant advertisment>

Anyway. There was this guy in a brimmed hat, with a yellow helmet perched on top of it, asking about format conversions and Flying Related International Translation Zones...

    Could it be...?

    Ian P.

    (Internal Administrative Naughty Person)

    Hi Ian:

Nice scenery in a great location... 70 miles (as the 'Stork' flies) from KEWL near Lake Hancock, and not far from Fall City.

FS in-flight Map / Google Earth "jump" coordinates:

    47.5780668854713N

    121.688363403082W

Oh, and ICAO "IPBT" is not to be flown in low visibility, lest one have a close 'brush' with "Fuller Mountain":

    http://www.panoramio...r=kh.google.com

    http://en.wikipedia....r_Brush_Company

I think it would be fun to have even more freeware airport sceneries available within a 1 or 2 hour flying circuit of Emma Field in FSX using FSX SDK compliant methods like we had in FS8 and FS9 using LAGO's FSSE / FSE and/or FS8/FS9 SDK methods.

It'd be sorta' like "Monty Python's Flying Circuit"... but different !

    Thanks for sharing.

  4. Hi Mark:

"Active" FS9.Cfg file location In 32-bit Windows XP:

    C:\Documents and Settings\[user profile name]\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9\FS9.CFG

"Active" FS9.Cfg file location In 32-bit Windows Vista and Win7:

    C:\Users\[user profile name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9

NOTE: "Documents and Settings" of Windows XP has been replaced by "Users" folder chain in Vista and Win7

BTW: Remember, one must first set:

Windows Control Panel > Folder Options > 'View' Tab > Advanced Settings:

    > Files and Folders > Display the contents of system folders "checked"

    ...and:

    > Hidden files and folders > Show hidden files and folders "ticked"

...in order to allow display of hidden and system files and thus enable display of FS9.Cfg in Windows Explorer.

    CAVEAT:

Before trying to edit FS9.Cfg, in FS9 Main Menu > Settings > Assignments on both Buttons / Keys and Joystick Axes tabs first note the controller currently being "configured" in FS9 under "Joystick type" when assigning Axes, Buttons, and Keys.

By default FS sets all connected controllers "active" and always capable of exerting input over FS according to its assignments by device, even though its name may not currently be the selected device being 'configured' in the "Joystick type" pick list.

Thus, one should remove "duplicate" assignments of control over Axes, Buttons, and Keys on each device so there's only one FS "function" for each, to allow specificity of controller input in FS at run time.

PS: If you have a payware version of FSUIPC, that reportedly is the best place to configure FS controller assignments

Hope this helps sort things out. :)

  5. At the request of Lilliwaup 'Mayor Emeritus', former Mason County law enforcement officer, and noted EFFC member "Cecil", Mason County Fire Marshall Joe Rapp and Lilliwaup Chief of Police Dave Turman have agreed to conduct further investigations to determine whether there may be a connection between a fire at Emma Field Novenber 23, 2008, and the 'true' identity of a corpse found near KEWL 2 years later on a "Friday the 13th" in November, 2010.

    http://forum.simflig...for-emma-field/

    [EDITED]

    http://www.sim-outho...Emma-Field-news

    [END_EDIT]

The corpse was purportedly identified as "Fritz", a well-known 'persona' at Emma Field.

    http://forum.simflig...rom-emma-field/

Cecil called for further inquiry into this matter due to the fact that in addition to "Fritz" wearing many hats, he also reportedly had 'multiple' personas.

Cecil also said that "Fritz" sometimes appeared in at least 2 places at once: being on duty to direct aircraft ground traffic into the parking area, while also working at the main gate behind the clubhouse at the perimeter roadway.

    < Bilocation (aka "Doppelgänger") ? >

    http://en.wikipedia....ppelg%C3%A4nger

And perhaps most remarkably, he may also be seen in a 3rd place simultaneously... mowing the lawn on Mondays (when in the mood).

    < Trilocation (aka "Treblegänger"...or was that 'Trouble-ganger') ? >

FYI: Since there have long been rumors of Fritz operating a not-so-secret "moonshine" operation somewhere on or about the Emma Field premises, questions have been raised as to whether Fritz may have "gone underground" to hide from "revenoors" seeking to tax and/or shut down any such illegal "still" that Fritz may- or may not- have at KEWL. ;-)

Emma Field Flying Club Forum members are invited to submit input to further the investigation into whether there may be more than 1 "Fritz" persona at KEWL, and to determine the REAL whereabouts of... the REAL Fritz Deters !

  6. N O T A M: January 27, 2012

Because it has been so long since Simon Stansfield's OneStopShop and Terry Hansen's VirtualPilot.Net had last made these files available online, I have posted info on where to get all required files for these add-ons, and how to install them... here:

    http://forum.simflig...post__p__436637

Many thanks again to Richard Goldstein, Simon, and Terry, for their respective efforts in making and hosting these files on behalf of the EFFC years ago !

Hope this helps make for a more "KEWL" experience flying the friendly skies (and taxiing on the ground) around Emma Field !

    GaryGB

  7. N O T A M:

Because it has been so long since Simon Stansfield's OneStopShop and Terry Hansen's VirtualPilot.Net had last made these files available online, I had forgotten that the original distribution of the EFFC Fixed Base building and KEWL Helipad add-on scenery objects released for free download under the auspices of the EFFC by Richard Goldstein... did not utilize existing textures within the payware installations of Emma Field 2002 or 2004.

Rather, those textures apparently had been distributed as a separate download of bitmap (*.BMP) files which were intended to over-write specific existing *.BMP files within ones properly completed payware installation of Emma Field 2002 or 2004.

This information is based on inspection of a fresh re-installation of Emma Field 2002 (before / after version1.52 upgrade), and of Emma Field 2004.

I have edited my post above to clarify where to get all required files for these add-ons, and how to install them:

  8. Proper FS9 display of the EFFCbase1_1 (FBO) object requires these textures in [FS2004 install path]\LAGO\EmmaField\Texture\ sub-folder:

    FLMVhcl3.bmp

    FLMVhcl3_LM.bmp

    FSVFR4.bmp

    FSVFR4_LM.bmp

    FSVFR5.bmp

    FSVFR5_LM.bmp

Proper FS9 display of the EFFCHeli1 (Helipad) object requires this texture in the [FS2004 install path]\LAGO\EmmaField\Texture\ sub-folder:

    EFFCHeli1.bmp

As it has been quite some time since I installed these objects directly from the original source EFFCbase1_1.zip and EFFCHeli1.zip files, it may be they were inherited from the FS2002 version of Emma Field which I had originally bought from LAGO.

If that were the case, those files would have been located in:

    [FS2002 install path]\LAGO\EmmaField\Texture\

I would appreciate additional feedback from other "upgraded" purchasers of Emma Field 2002, and those who also downloaded and installed EFFCbase1_1.zip and EFFCHeli1.zip files ...as to whether they are having issues with display of these objects in FS2004 (aka "FS9").

    Thanks ! :)

    GaryGB

  9. I just tried the club-house in Emma - and didn't get any textures for the clubhouse or the Helipad - which for that matter also didn't add a start location. Hmmm... what's going on here?

    Hello:

    As described here: http://forum.simflig...post__p__436637

...AFAIK, the "clubhouse" you refer to was intended to be the EFFC FBO (aka "Fixed Base Operation"). ;)

BTW: It's easy to get confused, since the EFFC 'clubhouse' is used by the Stork as an "FBO"; and besides, Fritz needed a larger space in which to routinely "over-serve" thirsty EFFC airmen with Old #5 (and/or other preferred libations such as apple juice for "Skinny Puppy")... thus, KEWL's "bar" is in the large brick building.

FYI: Neither EFFCbase1_1 (FBO) nor EFFCHeli1 (Helipad) static scenery objects referenced above add a "Start Location" to the FS airport pick-list, although a number of new "Start Locations" will be made available via EFSTEP for both fixed wing and heli flyers.

CAVEAT: A proper and full installation of Emma Field 2004 is required to have:

    * A "Start Location" in the FS airport pick-list

    * Textures for the EFFC FBO and Helipad add-ons.

BTW, I just learned you should never turn your autogen off, even by accident, when you have a Georender installed! I was fiddling with FS, trying to force it to display a greater density of trees and ended up borking KEWL badly enough I thought I might have to reinstall FS to get it working again - only to find it was my errant autogen tweaks that prevented the display of the Emma buildings.

A few questions to clarify this scenario: :?:

1.) Was the above described installation of Emma Field 2004 in FS9... or FSX ?

2.) What "errant autogen tweaks" did you perform which you concluded were preventing "display of the Emma buildings" ?

3.) Which buildings in particular did you fail to display when the Autogen slider for Autogen density = "None") ?

4.) When Autogen density = "None", were you also missing display of any LAGO Emma Field 2004 custom vegetation (tree groups) ?

  10. Hi Mark:

Since you have re-installed Emma Field for FS9 and you are a heli enthusiast, you will probably want to have the freeware

EFFC Fixed Base building and KEWL Helipad add-ons released for free download under the auspices of the EFFC by Richard Goldstein (...IIRC while we were waiting for LAGO to complete the Emma Field 2004 package update):

See the pics and discussion here: Richard's EFFC Clubhouse and Emma 2004 (...also with the Add-on Helipad)

    http://forum.simflig...-and-emma-2004/

Original authorized download locations c/o Simon Stanfield's "One Stop Shop" and Terry Hanson's "VirtualPilot.net" are offline now .

But public distribution of installers was allowed between EFFC members to assist with re-installation of LAGO's Emma Field scenery.

    [EDITED]

So, to maintain free access to the 2 above Emma Field add-on SCENERY OBJECTS, they are inside 2 separate ZIP files:

    * EFFC Fixed Base building (EFFCbase1_1.zip)

    * KEWL Helipad (EFFCHeli1.zip)

...and these are both enclosed inside a inside a single archive: "EFFCbase1_1+EFFCHeli1.zip" down-loadable from:

    http://www.mediafire...di2zlw3buvydx4d (Scenery OBJECTS only)

FYI: These 2 BGLs are only scenery object 'model' code with included placement code; the mapped (and required) textures for display of same DO NOT exist inside either the LAGO payware Emma Field 2002 or 2004 package, and must be downloaded separately as describe immediately below in this post.

NOTE: The Emma Field 2002 or 2004 package must already be installed using a LAGO E-Mailed serial key as discussed above for KEWL etc. prior to installing these add-ons for KEWL.

To install the freeware EFFC Fixed Base building and KEWL Helipad add-on Scenery OBJECTS:

    1.) Un-ZIP the outer "EFFCbase1_1+EFFCHeli1.zip" file into: [FS2004 install path]\Lago\EmmaField\Scenery folder

    2.) Un-ZIP both EFFCbase1_1.zip and EFFCHeli1.zip into that same [FS2004 install path]\Lago\EmmaField\Scenery folder

NOTE: Say "YES" to any prompts to over-write existing copies of these texture files (don't worry... it really is safe to do this!)

The TEXTURES for the 2 above add-on scenery objects are inside 2 separate ZIP files:

    * EFFC Fixed Base building (EFFCbase1_1_bmp+LM.zip)

    * KEWL Helipad (EFFCHeli1_bmp+LM.zip)

...and these are both enclosed inside a inside a single archive: "EFFCbase1_1+EFFCHeli1_Textures.zip" down-loadable from:

    http://www.mediafire...3bqw7yfvpmmsock (Scenery Object TEXTURES only)

< File content corrected and download link updated and verified 01-27-2012 10:30 P.M. CST (UTC/GMT -6 hours) >

To install the freeware EFFC Fixed Base building and KEWL Helipad add-on Scenery Object TEXTURES:

    1.) Un-ZIP the outer "EFFCbase1_1+EFFCHeli1_Textures.zip" file into: [FS2004 install path]\Lago\EmmaField\Texture folder

    2.) Un-ZIP both EFFCbase1_1_bmp+LM.zip and EFFCHeli1_bmp+LM.zip into that same [FS2004 install path]\Lago\EmmaField\Texture folder

NOTE: Say "YES" to any prompts to over-write existing copies of these texture files (don't worry... it really is safe to do this!)

    [END_EDIT]

Hope this helps make enjoyment of Emma Field in FS9 even more complete ...for both fixed wing and helicopter flyers !

PS: Mark, your military blackhawk helo simulator experience must have been awesome !

    GaryGB

  11. Hi Mark:

Glad to see you're having more fun in the PNW !

Here's a list of airports in Washington State:

    http://en.wikipedia....s_in_Washington

FYI: I enjoy flying the Olympic Peninsula counter clockwise in the earlier morning, or clockwise in the mid-to-late afternoon.

Next stop along the way in a FS9 counter-clockwise "bush" circuit from Diamond Point could be FSAddon's Orcas Island KORS.

From there one could fly to LAGO's GeoRender #5 Forks Municipal KS18 at Forks, WA.

From there one could fly to Bob Bernstein's freeware Bowerman KS18 at Hoquiam, WA.

    http://www.flightsim...l.php?fid=55040

From there one can fly through Bob Bernstein's freeware photoreal Lower Chehalis River scenery:

    http://www.flightsim...l.php?fid=58386

...to Bob Bernstein's other freeware classic Elma Municipal 4W8 at Elma, WA.

    http://www.flightsim...l.php?fid=57678

< IIRC, Bob Bernstein's FS8 sceneries should work OK in FS9, so IMHO, its worth installing them for a test flight >

From there one could fly to Sanderson KSHN at Shelton, WA.

From there, of course, it is a short flight back to our beloved Emma Field KEWL at Lilliwaup, WA.

Other journeys could involve a mix of FS8 and FS9 freeware classics by Bob Bernstein and others, along with payware LAGO and FSAddon airports by Richard Goldstein (...and of course Bob Bernstein's Harvey & Monroe c/o FSAddon).

BTW: The numerous airports and bush strips enhanced with LAGO's FS Enhancer 2004 (aka "FSE") merit installation too.

A a list of some favorite PNW payware airfields I've enjoyed flying in FS9:

    Georender #1 Ranger Creek 21W & Flying M OR05 (Richard Goldstein c/o LAGO)

Georender #2 Bryce Canyon KBCE & Escalante Municipal IL7 (c/o LAGO)

NOTE: This package was originally "Escalante & Hurricane" (1L8) via Flight1 before LAGO re-acquired rights (their FS9 update excluded Hurricane)

Georender #3 Diamond Point 2WA1 (Richard Goldstein c/o LAGO)

Georender #4 Darrington Municipal 1S2 (Richard Goldstein c/o LAGO)

Georender #5 Forks S18 (Richard Goldstein c/o LAGO)

    Strom-Sky Harbor S86 & Morton-Sultan 39P (Richard Goldstein c/o FSAddon)

Lake Wenatchee Airport 27W & Skykomish S88 (Richard Goldstein c/o FSAddon)

Chelan Muni S10 (Richard Goldstein c/o Georender)

Hope these ideas inspire even more fun flying in the friendly skies !

    GaryGB

  12. Hi Cliff:

Good to see you posting here again !

Indeed, Emma reigns supreme in the hearts of many as their favorite place to return to after exploring the surrounding FS world.

With a default FS9 base install footprint needing around 6 GB, and only a few hundred MB for a fully-configured Emma Field (with original LAGO aircraft), it is well worth having KEWL on one's FS computer alongside any other versions of FS and other 3rd party add-ons.

Have fun flying the friendly skies of FS ! :)

    GaryGB

  13. I can't find Georender 3, I think that was Diamond Point, which is north of Emma, as I recall. That place had opening garage doors. Any idea if there is a download for it. The email is from LagoSim.com so I guess that where the reg number is from.

    Hi Mark:

I posted a ZIP file containing the freely-distributable installer for LAGO's Georender3 - Diamond Point (ICAO - 2WA1) at MediaFire.

That freely-downloadable package at: http://www.mediafire...29mszetslq9qeep ...contains:

    * A ZIP of the original (un-altered) LAGO "GEO3_200_ENG_FS2004.zip" installer file for Georender3

    * A ZIP of Peter McLeland's Diamond Point Elevation Fix of 2 AFCAD files for ICAO 2WA1 (see his ReadMeFirst.txt file)

    * A ZIP of LAGO / VistaMare's updated Georender3 menu script file (install to: [FS9 install path]\VISTAMARE\LTA\ folder)

    CAVEATS: When updating / re-installing LAGO Georender3 for FS2004...

1.) That ZIP file is 20.9 MB (21,957,448 bytes) compressed; allow approx. 2 -to- 3 times that size if installed to one's hard drive

2.) Use of the automated "Setup.exe" installer requires a "LAGO" serial number key ...E-Mailed to customers after purchase by LAGO

NOTE: Georender packages downloaded after purchase from simMarket reportedly also received a "LAGO" serial number key by E-Mail.

AFAIK, the same "LAGO" serial number key sent by E-Mail from either LAGO or simMarket will work for Georender3 installation regardless of whether ones Georender3 package was purchased directly from LAGO... or simMarket.

BTW: Those trying to resolve issues with sounds and animations in Georender sceneries (not with Emma Field):

Please see these threads for details on fixing issues involving the ViMa*.dll modules:

    http://forum.simflig...ng/page__st__40

    http://forum.simflig...__1#entry393865

NOTE: Near then end of the latter thread linked above, I posted a down-loadable copy of the last version of ViMaPlay.dll for FS9 Georenders etc. that VistaMare Software had available for download before that website went offline.

Please review the thread linked above before downloading this ViMaPlay.dll which IIUC, is only for FS9 Georenders etc.:

    http://forum.simflig...attach_id=95262

What is FSUIPC for. Should I look into getting that going?

    See: http://secure.simmar...n-fsuipc3.phtml

...Then be sure you have installed the latest version and updated FSUIPC.DLL file to your [FS9 install path]\Modules folder:

    http://forum.simflig...pdated-modules/

Not that my flying PC is back on the wireless network, I hope to try some MP soon. I also want to try Team Speak, I still haven't tested it with a real person yet.

Hope the holidays went well for everyone out there.

    Mark (Tinman) Hansen

You should be OK, as I doubt a good wireless network connection between your FS computer and your wireless router will limit your throughput speed for sending data packets with TeamSpeak 2 or 3 clients, with FSHostClient multi-player packages, or with the default MS FS9 multi-player feature.

So just let us know here in EFFC Forum when you'd like to connect for a chat and/or a flight, and we can arrange a time to connect.

    Take Care ! :)

    GaryGB

  14. giving up is not in my vocabulary...... and I resisted the offer from Aerosoft to buy the Emma Field brand from me.

    Hi Francois:

    Hooray !

I just knew our beloved "Fritzois" was still around here somewhere !

My quest for holiday cheer is now off to a good start as well... so off to the bar for some Old #5 (and a 'chaser' of your new "hazelnut" liqueur) !

It is both a relief and an inspiration to see you posting here again after such a long hiatus... you've been sorely missed ! ;)

    GaryGB

  15. Lego.com? Are you sure about that? Don't tempt Mrs. P. to build Emma Field out of Lego or she'll try!!!

LAGO ceased operations years ago, which was when Emma Field was removed from the shelves (both virtual and real), as it was a LAGO product and they no longer existed to sell or support anything.

There have been a number of attempts to resurrect it, but so far nothing has come of them, for a variety of reasons. I know that Francois has never entirely given up the dream of bringing it back to life, but it has proven a tougher challenge than perhaps first anticipated by anyone.

    Ian P.

    Hi Ian:

Here's a "teaser" to assure folks that EFSTEP is well underway... rebuilding KEWL with LEGOs !

  16. Hi Mark:

Glad to see things are coming back together for you so quickly... and so well.

I'll probably meet up with you "flying the friendly skies" online sometime soon then ! B)

PS: Feel free to send me a PM if / when you'd like to connect via TeamSpeak.

    GaryGB

  17. Hi Mark:

    Regarding Multi-Player:

As you may have discerned by now, the "official" M-P server previously maintained courtesy of Francois / FSAddon is once again offline, and IIUC, is not anticipated to return until sufficient donations make that possible.

Those who would like to donate to that ongoing endeavor to restore Francois' EFFC M-P server are directed to this URL for further information:

    http://fsaddon.eu/wpfsaddon/

Others who want to fly in the mean time on available free M-P servers may wish to consider the TeamSpeak, FSHostClient and direct modem connection options at DigitalThemePark.com as discussed here:

    http://forum.simflig...ght-and-fly-in/

    ...and here:

    http://forum.simflig...ght-activities/

Todd (aka "Zoolander64") has been very friendly and helpful to flight simmers arriving from Emma Field Forum, Return To Misty Moorings Forums (aka "RTMM"), and other flying groups; he is a technically knowledgeable and gracious host, with a genuine enjoyment of the variety of activities which take place on the DigitalThemePark M-P server system.

I'd also be glad to be of any additional help to your further FS setup and optimization process by chatting via TeamSpeak 3 (aka "TS3") in the Northwest Flying Club - Development & Support area at DigitalThemePark Community after you've been granted "citizenship" by Todd or one of his other host-administrators there.

NOTE: DigitalThemePark Community TS3 IP Address is: TS3.DigitalThemePark.com

After appearing in the outer lobby in TS3 under "Welcome To Our Community, Citizen!", you will be greeted by Todd or one of his other host-administrators there. After a brief orientation and verification of one's readiness for M-P connectivity, one will be granted "citizenship" fairly promptly.

Then one should be ready to navigate in TS3 between various areas with on-line chat and/or active M-P simming in military sims, racing sims, or flying in MS Flight Simulator (both inter-airport and "bush" flights are usually underway with multiple participants involved daily.).

FYI: Most flying in MSFS takes place in a relaxed and polite manner quite similar to how most prior Emma Field flights were conducted (whether smaller private or larger 'public' groups fly-ins), so "stringent" VATSIM or IVAO protocals are not a requirement for participation on a drop-in basis with most flight activities at 'DigitalThemePark Community' thus far.

FS2004 Bremerton National Airport, Washington (WA), Upgrade 1. These chainlink fence textures replace the current textures found at Bremerton National for FS2004 by MS Scenery. These textures were reworked, recolored, and compressed to a new format by Mike "Doc" Apsey. They directly replace their counterparts inside your KPWT texture folder. They look more natural and have greatly reduced texture shimmering. Requires base install of MSSKPWT.ZIP. By Mark Smith and Mike Apsey. 147K

Also at FLIGHTSIM, you'll find a conversion of Mark Smith's FS9 original KPWT by NIGEL GRANT to allow use in FSX.

  19. Hi Mark:

Here's a link to download the freely distributable LAGO installer for Emma Field 2004: "EMMA_Patch_2004_100.zip":

    http://www.mediafire...vsll3ja01s8jl3g

< Download Link working as of December 18, 2012 >

That ZIP file is 44.8 MB (47,056,311 bytes) compressed; allow approx. 2 -to- 3 times that size if installed to one's hard drive

    [EDITED]

FYI: Since that time, AFAIK, that technology has been licensed for the FS9 and FSX platforms exclusively under the auspices of Oliver Pabst as an integral part of "AESLite" c/o Aerosoft.

    [END_EDIT]

CAVEATS: When updating / re-installing Emma Field for FS2004...

1.) Be sure Emma Field FS2002 is removed before installing the Emma Field 2004 "patch" or update.

This will eliminate any duplicate content or older VistaMare (aka "ViMa*.dll) modules being in the [FS9 install path]\Modules sub-folder; otherwise one might incur CTD's starting flights at Emma Field, failure to display proper LAGO menus / options in FS etc..

2.) Use of the automated "Setup.exe" installer requires a "LAGO" serial number key ...E-Mailed to customers after purchase by LAGO

NOTE: Emma Field packages downloaded after purchase from simMarket reportedly also received a "LAGO" serial number key by E-Mail.

A "LAGO" serial number key will work for installation of the original Emma Field into either FS2002, or installation of the Emma Field 2004 "patch" / update into FS2004.

AFAIK, the same "LAGO" serial number key sent by E-Mail from either LAGO or simMarket will work for Emma Field installation regardless of whether ones Emma Field package was purchased directly from LAGO... or simMarket.

Also, IIRC, there were once a very few 3rd party companies offering Emma Field purchases on CD-ROM either as a stand-alone, or bundled with 1 or more early GeoRenders.

I am not sure whether those CD-ROM distributions used the same "LAGO" serial number keys, but I suspect they did, so those who have misplaced / damaged their installation disks for those products may wish to try using the above linked FS9 "patch" / update installer with their serial number keys, as "EMMA_Patch_2004_100.zip" contains a full Emma Field 2004 package.

FYI: During installation of the latter FS9 package, when asked whether you are a Emma Field 2002 user, you should answer "YES" (even if you intend to only install into FS9 rather than FS8 ...or both versions of FS); this is to allow the "FS8 legacy series" of LAGO serial number keys to still be honored by the installer program.

PS: If your Emma Field 2002 un-installer is "broken", missing, etc., or if you have problems with re-installing any version, let us know.

    Hope this helps ! :)
