  1. NEWS FLASH !!!

In a bold move that can only be described as "Chock Full O' Nuts", a rural Washington state militant faction 'commandeered' most of this years Filbert harvest from the orchard at Bear Gulch... while Spotlope was away tending bar over at KCMW !

    post-9978-0-56940000-1304283378_thumb.jp

Reportedly, the C-123 Provider (a 'little brother' to Lockheed's C-130... "AWOL" from Air America since the Vietnam era) was piloted by an old ex-CIA pilot that owed Fritz a favor from years ago. ;-)

    post-9978-0-14570200-1304283436_thumb.jp

As the aircraft flew a stunningly expert, 'Contorted Filbert' loop into a very-low altitude strafing run over "kootchy-koorby-koo" Meadows, considerable numbers of oohs & aahs, barking, applause, and 'swearing of oaths' was heard over "Lake Cussman".

With massive twin engines roaring as the transport's trajectory swooped down along the KCMW flight line, an awe-struck crowd of guys standing upright at the "Hot Dog Wagon"... quickly dropped their wieners, crouched, and ran for cover ! blink.gif.

Amazingly, before the C-123 flew off, it deployed a 'consolation-prize' flying pig near the concession trailer below; witnesses said the "swine flew" into the outstretched arms of the proprietor, rumored to be the cousin of a certain Lobsang Dhibala !

Later that day, KCMW had a special promotion on "pulled pork" sandwiches at the concession trailer !

...And soon afterward, our beloved Fritz (underground though he may yet be), announced a new product arising from generations of Deters family 'distilled wisdom' to cash in on the popularity of "Hazel Nut" flavored beverages at the EFFC bar over at Emma Field :

  2. Hi Bill:

I had a good time in a multi-player flight yesterday with a freshly purchased copy of your Cushman Meadows package installed, and found it to be in a very nicely compatible location.

In fact, I found it was so compatible, that it aligned perfectly with the location where I already constructed a "new" Lake Cushman RWY and Sea Plane Base for the FS9 version of my Emma Field Scenery Terrain Enhancement Project (aka "EFSTEP") several years ago.

< Yikes... scary how fast time passes... I'd better finish up and release before folks snap at my heels about when it will be available ! >

It was great to see so much of the familiar Emma Field environment rendered in photoreal textures for FSX like we previously had in Emma Field for FS2002 and FS2004 (...and blended so nicely with other FSX PNW custom land class textures in the areas most local flyers might explore).

And it was fun flying in and out of a new, "unabridged" version of Bear Gulch set into some higher resolution terrain.

Overall, a fine contribution to the PNW flying experience that adds to the already abundant enjoyment of... flying the friendly skies (and friendly aerodromes) around Emma Field !

Many Thanks for sharing your creative imagination as an author, and your skills as a FS Developer with us again in FSX !

  3. Hi All,

I still fly fs9 and still love Emma Field. I just recently started tweaking my set up and noticed the waterfall/land bridge problem near Emma Field. I did a search but didn't find an answer for it so I am asking if there was a solution for this besides restting the max vertex back to 19 or below?

    Thanks,

    Sean

    Hi Sean:

A fix is in the works !

In the mean time, set your TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL (TMVL) in your active FS9.Cfg to no more than 18 or 19 to prevent the land bridge at the waterfalls.

Also, if you are using a 3rd party add-in terrain mesh, that may cause water to creep up the hills by the middle-south end of Lake Cushman.

A fix is in the works for all the terrain there as well as the region surrounding KEWL, but using a TMVL of 18 or 19 may minimize the anomaly there.

FYI: My own Emma Field Scenery Terrain Enhancement Project (aka "EFSTEP") has been developed to better integrate the existing Emma Field 2004 scenery into higher resolution FS9 terrain mesh, while also fixing some anomalies at Lake Cushman and by the waterfalls near the main airfield; other additional features are under consideration for both FS9 and FSX as well.

For more info on my pending project to fix these things (...and add some new enhancements ! ) see this thread:

    http://forum.simflig...post__p__379141

Additionally, the 'Emma Field Reconstruction Project' (aka "EFRP") has in the past produced a version of KEWL to fly with until the Emma Field 2004 update was released by LAGO. It is possible that same project may soon be able to provide a more satisfactory port of KEWL to fly with in FSX until EmmaX is released (there will be an Emma Field for FSX... eventually); stay tuned to the EFFC Forum for further details. :-)

  4. Its been awhile but you guys have been on my mind the whole time....Long sickness and no computor!!

Brewster is around somewhere but haven't seen him for a while...Think he is in a sea gull comune around Lilliwaup

    .

Gary I have missed our long talks on the phone..

Will try to get my old computer running again and find your advice again.....

    Cecil

Howdy Cecil ...good to hear from you again !

Hurrah ...Our "Mayor Emeritus" of Lilliwaup has returned :!:

We must be on the same wavelength... yesterday about an hour before dusk PNW time, I was flying Aerosoft's PBY Catalina in the "Fire Eaters" livery (from the movie "Always") circling around Camp Grisdale area looking for a place to set up a water bomber base in FSX, and I was thinking of you.

I guess you must have heard the noise all the way over in Shelton, eh ?

I've missed our chats as well; hope all is well for you now, so we can have a bit more mischief around Emma Field Forum.

Perhaps we can connect by phone to catch up, and I can help get your install of FS9 or FSX up and running efficiently again ?

I'll send you a PM so we can see if there is a time that would be good to connect.

PS: I could've sworn I saw 'Brewster' sneaking up on some birds along the Hood Canal near Lilliwaup Bridge the other day !

  5. Are the multiplayer servers working right now?

FSHost has said there are no servers available on the IP address we were using for several days now.

Teamspeak servers seem to be down too.

However I've recently had some other internet issues on my PC and I'm wondering if the issue is on my end.

Is anyone else able to use the servers right now?

    Thanks

    Hello:

Yes, the FSAddon (aka "SkySimFlight") MP server(s) have been down since the latter part of last week.

A Windows CMD mode "PING" shows the address 64.22.78.67 is not even present on the internet at this time ! :(

    Francois:

Is this as intended, and if so for how long ?

...Or might we anticipate the MP server will once again be available ?

If the EFFC MP servers will not be available for ongoing use, please let us know, so we can notify everyone and then establish an alternate online meeting place to plan our fly-ins and test flight plans etc. for such activities in the future.

Many thanks for your reply and help with this. :-)

NOTAM: IMHO, this is a good time to remind folks that Francois has graciously provided a MP server system for years with limited support by others, and all contributions received can help ensure ongoing availability.

If Francois will once again kindly post a link to his current "services" page (which now shows a missing "Error 404"), I'd like to encourage folks here to please visit that web page and make a contribution to help defray the costs of operation.

NOTE: The original address shown in a forum thread for the above cited "Services" web page now 'missing in action' was:

  6. After Wabbit and Elmer visited Bill Dick near North Saanich B.C., Bill flew them up onto the Baird "glass-ear" in his tricked-out Super Cub on skis, before promptly heading back to continue development on his latest FS PNW scenery projects.

Seeing the custom livery of Bill's Piper flying by, SIRP researchers rushed back to camp hoping he'd brought along some of his famous "Ice Wine".

Instead, they just missed his departure... and discovered a couple of comical characters camped near their tents.

The 2 characters said they were from "Emma Field Flying Club", and were searching for the new scenery Eagleskinner was working on, and needed it posted as a download to his website or their "EFFC Forum"... so they could expedite an 'airlift' of supplies that One-Eye had requested.

With their tent already set up for the night, a stressed out and exhausted Uncle Elmer takes a nap, and 'sleeps like a baby'... as Wabbit reads him a bed-time story from "Emma Tales" !

  7. Wondering why Emma's arrival in FSX was at a standstill, EFFC Pilots flew in to One-Eye's Northern <C>old #5 facilities.

Hoping to butter him up on his already slippery slope, they made small talk on big topics.

Commenting on the chillingly treacherous runway, the EFFC-ers said: "That's a n'ice field you have here".

One-Eye replied: "Yep, when I first got here, I said aloud: 'Bring it on, glacier', the Eagle (skinner ?) has landed !"

The EFFC-ers responded: "But, from watching TV adventure programs, I thought it was pronounced 'glass-ear'...".

"OK, 'glass 'ere' !" grumbled One-Eye, as he plunked shot glasses onto the bar, pouring "new" #5 for all.

Miffed at being one-upped already by some 'yuppies from the lower 48', One-Eye said: "So... you like Bear Grylls ?"

"Why, thank you... don't mind if I (we ?) do... a bear steak would be great !", said the esurient EFFC-ers.

Muttering something about limited supplies, One-Eye grudgingly fed them bear steaks from the grill over his signal fire.

Inevitably, the conversation touched on Emma's FSX whereabouts after the controversial Lilliwaup airfield's suspected "arson" back in 'FS9.

The EFFC-ers pointedly asked One-Eye: "So the rumors are true: in your FSX world, Emma's gone from KEWL to 'KOOL' ?"

"Yep" said One-Eye, staring wistfully at a grave marker in the nearby snow, "...She's under there; if she's burnt out, so am I !"

    It might have been the grilled 'bear steaks' talking, but a sudden great rumbling arose from the bowels of the EFFC-ers: < E f f f - E r r r p ! >

    "Emma's under-where ?" said the EFFC-ers.

From out of 'know-where', a Dutchman's voice thundered across the barren landscape: "Emma's under de-ice, sir !"

    "Emma as'under... de-icer ?" pondered One-Eye. :?:

"Why, thank you... we thought you'd never offer", said the EFFC-ers, slipping on arm bands with "EFRP" emblazoned in big red letters.

"EFRP... whats that stand for ?" asked One-Eye. :?:

The EFFC-ers replied: "Well, here's a hint: it doesn't stand for 'being stood up'; and it doesn't stand for a 'stand-still'; but it does stand for a belief that Emma's 'still standing' after a fire storm in some peoples' FS worlds that was caused by believing everything they read in the newspapers."

One-Eye shot back (this time sounding really mean): "No, I mean... what does 'EFRP' really mean ?"

"It stands for 'Emma Field Reconstruction Project' (aka 'EFRP')" said the EFFC-ers; "BTW, you do know Emma's still alive and well in FS9 ?"

"Wow, I suspected Emma Field really is 'still standing' on true believers' FS9 installations !" said One-Eye, his eyes opened wide.

"But could she become a 'port' to FSX while still waiting for the Flying Dutchman's ship to come in ?" asked One-Eye hopefully.

"Yep, that's why we're here", said the EFFC-ers.

"So... You presume to 'exhume' ?" countered One-Eye ? :?:

"Aye-Aye, One-Eye !" replied the EFFC-ers, all standing at attention and saluting their bewildered host.

    < With requisite merriment, EFFC's merry-men tested One-Eye's inurement,

by procurement of his 'new' #5... to fuel his long lost Emma's... disinterment. >

Said the EFFC-ers: "EFRP has a predilection for resurrection; now, show us knave... the way to the 'grave' !"

Enthralled, the jocular, uni-ocular host joined them in one last toast, then led them to where his KEWL was in 'FSX cold storage'... un-installed.

< Like virtuous "Knnnn-ig-hts", the EFFC-ers opened all spigots... on the tanks of One-Eye's 'new' brew. >

To end One-Eye's miserable dearth, a torrent flowed on FSX earth; stares then turned into grins, as the EFFC-ers took out flares from their bins....

    TO BE CONTINUED... ?

Hmmm... Sounds good; new or old... #5 on ice is nice !

  8. Welcome back :-)

Yes, in spite of a few major setbacks, Fritz is still here ;-)

    Hi Francois !

Hooray... EFFC will sleep better knowing Fritz's alive, well, and on <but sometimes off  > the job at KEWL... no matter the time of day !!!

However... certain other scurrilous varmints 'embedded' in or about the premises who have been "losing sleep" over the whereabouts of our beloved Fritzois, might still be "losing sleep" for a while !

Wabbit's sleep deprivation (due to worrying about Fritz' recent "disappearance", and ongoing nocturnal mischief by the EFFC) now reaches new 'heights'... in the 'depths' of his bedroom, what with all the noise from Fritz resuming his nearby "underground" activities by cover of night.

  9. ATTENTION Administrator(s):

I was confused by the time simFlight Forums server system assigned to Dobie's post above... it said he had posted it yesterday at 9:36 P.M.

Thus I thought I'd missed seeing Dobie's post somehow (and therefore missed a chance to connect with the other flyers "tomorrow"... Chicago time).

I've seen this mis-match of time zones on the simFlight Forum server system before, even though "My Settings" are configured for Central (Chicago) time zone.

As soon as I simply entered and re-saved my choices in "My Settings" (linked via my login name at the top right of the simFlight EFFC Forum page above), I instantly had the correct time assigned to posts here in the forum system.

I also noticed after this new forum system software was installed, when older pages from EFFC forum were viewed, the "Emoticon" graphic images images were not displayed (only the text version showed).

Additionally, attached images appeared only at the bottom of my post, but a link to the image was located within the post's body text... IIRC, where I had originally requested the attached image should be inserted.

I discovered by accident that when I opened my posts in "Edit" mode, then immediately re-submitted, "Emoticon" graphic images images were then displayed, and attached images were shown IIRC, where I had originally requested the attached image should be inserted... as well as at the bottom of the post.

Perhaps someone (Admin) could look into this and advise how to fix this globally (without us having to "refresh" our custom user settings and posts) !

PS: What happened to "Insert YouTube video" option... was it replaced by all the (IMHO worthless) "social networking" options ?

NOTE: When I clicked to "Report" this post to expedite the attention of an Administrator, this is what I got:

    H E L L L L L L P ! ! ! :o

    Thank You,

  10. Thanks Gary,

I've been on the 64.22.78.67 Emma server a few times, so far no one else has been on.

Participation has been "VERY_SPARSE"; we'll need to reset the FS "Legacy Scenery Density Slider" for the Olympic Peninsula to "EXTREMELY_DENSE" to attract more MP flyers ! :-)

I did try installing several FS9 sceneries into FSX, and while the static scenery shows up, there are a lot of anomalies, and I think they would each need some sort of exclude/flatten file. I'm not a scenery designer so I don't know, but I think so.

For example, Forks shows the georender buildings, but the trees are all messed up showing up in groups with a rectangular false background, with it's own horizon even, and the regular FSX scenery goes right through the airport, road traffic and all. Also, while top down view shows everything as it should be, in spot or cockpit view, it appears that the FSX scenery is "flooding" over the georender scenery. You will see more or less of buildings and the runway as you change your view around. It's rather interesting taking off on a runway that appears to go underground.

I made sure that the FS9 sceneries were at the top of the library list, but that made no difference.

Your observations are mostly the same as mine from a quick flight there today.

    [EDITED]

However, I do have FTX PNW installed which apparently provided the local terrain mesh, so for me the default FSX AFCAD2 type runway is covered up by a hillside South of the Georender Forks hangars and parking area; and IIRC that Georender#5 FS2002 era "AFD" type airport file is not 'seen' at all by FSX

I was able to more clearly survey the airfield after viewing it in FS9, and in FSX with FTX PNW disabled, as it did bleed through the mix of Georender#5 photoreal ground textures due to the legacy method used to create those tiles at Forks in 2003.

    [END_EDIT]

Is there any way that I can create files that would clean up the FSX scenery and allow the Forks scenery to display properly?

One would indeed need to exclude certain underlying FSX default and other 3rd party add-on content (ex: FTX PNW), while allowing for seasonal Georender ground texture and perhaps also tree texture display, then decide on whether to correct tree object draw order issues with new models... versus eliminating their display entirely and substituting native FS9 or FSX autogen trees in their place.

So, the short answer is "yes"; the long answer is, I'd need to do some further analysis to determine the best approach to "port" that airfield.

If I can get some time free from current commitments, I could make FSX compatible airport facilities data and flatten files to position under that Georender scenery's existing visual model, exclude "other" S18 AFCADs, and crank out a few other needed FSX excludes for an additional test flight to post some screenies here.

Check back; perhaps we'll soon see in this Forum what interest there is among additional EFFC forum participants for having an Olympic Peninsula "Remembering The Georenders" fly-in (FS8, FS9 and FSX pilots could all participate compatibly at the same time via EFFC's MP Server) ! 8-)

  11. Hi All:

As promised, here is a link to a good summary thread in the EFFC Forum that has details on accessing the EFFC MP Server:

If there are any outstanding questions or connection problems with getting online, please post back to this ongoing current thread.

    Happy Flying !

  12. Good morning

I got teamspeak 2 to work so let me know when you think you will be on. I will be out of pocket from 11-1300.

    Hi Dobie:

Glad to see you got things back up and working on your system so soon after your mishap with the TS-3.x Beta un-install. :-D

I'll likely be available today after 14:30 Chicago time - CST (I guess that's 10:30 GMT / ZULU) if anyone can pop in using TS 2.x on the EFFC MP Server

Thanks, and I'll talk with you online soon ! :-)

  13. Hi

I'd like to join the Fly-In.

    I have FSX Acceleration on Windows7 64bit

I can connect to the teamspeak server (only with teamspeak V2) .

From the Internet Browser I can correctly check FSHost Server Status but from FSX I can't reach the MP session

Wen I type the I.P. address and press the button to Find Sessions I can't establish a connection.

Could someone help me , please?

    Thanks

Hi Guido, nice to see you at EFFC Forum again ! :-)

Later today, I'll be posting some links to info here on accessing the EFFC MP Server.

If that does not resolve the MP access issues, let us know, and we can try connecting via TeamSpeak or interactive PM's here at simFlight Forums... at a pre-arranged time, since you are in Rome's time zone, and I am in Chicago's time zone.

  14. Howdy folks,

After some computer hardware died recently I ended up building a new system and one thing led to another and I ended up installing FSX and searching for all my favorite sceneries. I can at last run FSX on reasonably high settings, and am enjoying the water slider maxed out.

My life has changed considerably since I used to fly on the MP server most evenings and weekends. I bought my first house, a real piece of work which I've almost completely rebuilt, literally from the ground up. I met a wonderful young lady who for reasons beyond my comprehension consented to marry me, and did so in spring 09, which caused me to pause my real world flying lessons indefinitely. We now have our first boy on the way, due in May, and as a self employed carpenter, the economy here in the US certainly keeps me on my toes. I'd almost forgotten how much fun it was to relax in the evening flying patterns and heading up valleys to see what they held in various "low and (usually)slow" aircraft, and I've been doing a good bit of that the last few evenings.

Congratulations on your life changes... and welcome back to the friendly skies around Emma Field ! :-)

I still need to figure out how to hook up FSX to the Emma server. It's probably easy but I haven't really looked at it yet, except to notice I need some extra program to do so.

I'll post links to some excellent step-by-step tutorials by EFFC members later today regarding how to access the EFFC MP Server.

In a nut shell though, the same server base IP address applies, but there are different "port numbers" for multi-player data (seeing each other's aircraft), and for TeamSpeak (voice over IP aka "VOIP" between flyers); the password presently is the same for each login whether for multi-player or voice connectivity. ;)

Multi-player connectivity: FSX uses FSHostClient ; FS2004 or FS2002 (yes they work too!) uses FS's own built-in MP functions via menus

TeamSpeak: A headset with microphone is preferred; but a microphone and speakers also works, as will a quality webcam microphone; works with all FS versions

I'm disappointed to hear the latest EmmaX news, but Francois can be assured that I'll gladly pay a reasonable (perhaps even unreasonable, I want it bad!) price to have Emma back, if he ever brings it out, and I can certainly sympathize with having projects you dearly WANT to do, which never seem to materialize due to all the work one MUST do.

A couple questions though, I remember when FS9 came out there were a number of folks who quickly managed to port the FS2002 basic field over while we waited for the official upgrade. Is there any way to get the static Emma Field scenery to display in FSX?

Ditto for all my other Georender airports. I found Orbx's Darrington, and FSAddon's Orcas but so far I've come up empty on Georender quality sceneries of the other airports. I remember flying in and out of all these VERY enjoyable sceneries and would like to purchase FSX versions of them if they're available, or port the static sceneries which I already own into FSX if possible, such as Harvey, Sultan, Skykomish, Monroe, Ranger Creek, Wenatchee, Diamond Point, Flying M Ranch, Chelan, Packwood, Strom and any of those other fields. I think that is most of the ones I regularly used. It was so much more interesting always having another high quality destination a short hop away, no matter where I started.

Anyway, I hope to be around a bit more and look forward to joining old acquaintances on the servers in the near future, and would appreciate any input regarding my current quest for bush airports in the Emma area.

Most FS2004 static scenery objects for Emma Field and all the Georenders are rendered in FSX, but not animations or sounds.

Because FSX has limited support for the extremely sophisticated SCASM programming used to create those sceneries, the older sceneries (ex: Emma Field) incur a progressive FPS hit over time that leads to unacceptable stuttering, so complex workarounds are required to convert them.

The 'Emma Field Reconstruction Project' (aka "EFRP") has in the past produced a version of KEWL to fly with until the Emma Field 2004 update was released by LAGO. It is possible that same project may soon be able to provide a more satisfactory port of KEWL to fly with in FSX until EmmaX is released (there will be an Emma Field for FSX... eventually); stay tuned to the EFFC Forum for further details.

Also, my own Emma Field Scenery Terrain Enhancement Project (aka "EFSTEP") has been developed to better integrate the existing Emma Field 2004 scenery into higher resolution FS9 terrain mesh, while also fixing some anomalies at Lake Cushman and by the waterfalls near the main airfield; other additional features are under consideration for both FS9 and FSX as well.

In theory, the other Georenders could be ported to FSX too, but there is already some excellent quality, fully FSX compatible versions of Georender airports made (thus far by OrbX / FTX authors) such as Darrington, and recently, Orcas Island.

So it is thus far unclear just how much ongoing need there would be for the substantial work required to port legacy Georenders to FSX.

PS: The next round of Old #5 at the EFFC bar is on my tab ! 8-)

  15. Hi Gary & Francois

T/S 3 will not back fit to or port or server.

I will try and download T/S 2 today Gary and lets say 1300 CST today to try and communicate.

I will check back in a little while to see if that's good for you.

    Hi Dobie:

As of 13:25 CST I saw this message and was able to use TS-2.x on the EFFC MP Server on Ports 8767, 8881, and 8883; no one else was online there.

I'll check back periodically to see if you or anyone else shows up so we can do a few quick tests with TS.

Based on our impromptu test yesterday, we can see each other and use Chat functions in FSHost Client in FSX.

I'm confident Francois retained his mastery of administering TeamSpeak (and FSHostClient) since he did such a good job setting things up last year ! :-)

    GaryGB

  16. The 'regular' Emma Field MP Server should also be working again by now.....

    Hi Francois:

    Excellent !

It's great to have an EFFC MP server available again !

BTW: Does the EFFC MP Server have the ability to interact with the new version 3.x Beta of TeamSpeak ? :?:

I tinkered a bit today with that new version by installing "TeamSpeak3-Client-win32-3.0.0-beta36.exe" via:

    http://www.teamspeak.com

My initial results with TeamSpeak3-Client were a cause for concern... I hope I might find a work around with further testing and tinkering.

    * TeamSpeak3-Client seems to have intermittent problems talking to my SoundBlaster card, and was NOT able to connect with the EFFC MP Server.

    * TeamSpeak3-Client seems to have intermittent problems with playing the default set of voice notifications.

    * TeamSpeak3-Client voice notifications are apparently all created using synthsized speech, and are IMHO inferior to those used in TeamSpeak 2.x.

    * TeamSpeak3-Client voice notification synthesized spoken phrases are either garbled or TOO LONG, and may disrupt dialog among MP flyers

I'd welcome feedback here from others who may test TeamSpeak3-Client on their systems.

FYI: Those re-installing TeamSpeak, rather than the new version 3.x Beta, be sure to get the Official TeamSpeak2 Release Version download:

PS: As soon as I can connect via TeamSpeak 2.x with someone on the EFFC MP Server, I'll post my results here so we know if this is an option !

  17. Hi All:

Hopefully Joel will get some more time free soon so we can consider our options for a (larger ?) fly-in.

    Scottie:

Good to hear from you again !

    Dobie:

Does Bob Holland's FSHost multi-player server allow "free-form" flying EFFC-style, or just the listed "Hops" on his site?

Hmmm... "Hops"... they use that in making BEER don't they ?

  18. After the 4 numbers and the square there is a hyphen/dash. I did place a hyphen where the square was and it still didn't work.

    Hello:

LAGO e-mailed serial keys were 4 numbers and 8 alphanumeric characters (ex: 7 letters and a number)... with a hyphen in between but no spaces:

    ####-XXXXXXX#

    # = numbers

X = alphanumeric characters (usually letters)

These keys reportedly worked in both FS2002 and FS 2004 versions of Emma Field purchased directly from LAGO, and also with those from simMarket.

NOTE: The "square" you are referring to is usually a misrepresentation of web page fonts by a program used to print copied and pasted screen text (ex: NotePad), or a browser printing function which was not properly able to interpret formatting characters or a font face used on screen in an HTML mode web page-type e-mail GUI.

FYI: Running one's email program viewer or web mail display in plain ASCII "text" mode rather than HTML mode would likely not have had that issue when a message was copied and pasted into an intermediate program prior to printing.

Alternatively, the web browser in use at the time may have not properly interpreted the font characters due to Internet Options not allowing font download etc., or there may have been a memory glitch in the web browser session at the time.

IIUC, regardless of the cause, "squares" would not have been used as an alphanumeric character portion of a LAGO install serial key.

So try the structure above and let us know if it works for you.

Remember also that if purchased from simMarket, IIRC there was an outer package that one had to use a simMarket code on first, then when the LAGO installer became accessible, one used the LAGO install serial key with that 'final' phase of installation.

Hope this helps (...and please, somebody correct me if I'm wrong on the procedure for using a simMarket distribution package of a LAGO installer !)

BTW: Please note this info regarding installation of Emma Field 2004:

    Hope this helps !

  19. Hi Howard:

I'll look at my LAGO e-mailed installation key for Emma Field 2002 / 2004 and will post a reply later tonight when I get back in town.

Emma Field for FS2Kx is still a great experience (and can actually be "ported" into FSX with good results as well... more on this later !)
