Wideview

Recommended Posts

I have Wideview running on FS2004 using a server with 4 clients. I would like to syncronise the weather across all 5 PC's and understand that FSUIPC will do this. Do I have to register FSUIPC on all 5 PC's 5 for a total of 100 Euros or will 1 registration be OK. I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks.

No, FSUIPC is a tool used by other programs. It has no facilities like that. WidevieW uses FSUIPC in any case and should be sychronising the weather, within reason, on each client -- but I suspect WidevieW is still trying to use only global weather settings, which worked fine on FS2002 and before but not so well on FS2004. Possibly Luciano is working on that -- it can be done with localised weather sent to weather stations around and ahead of the aircraft, as ActiveSky V6 does.

If you only mean the cloud graphics, they are more or less generated at random on each copy of FS and cannot be synchronised to "flow" correctly.

Pete, thanks for your rapid reply, I appreciate it. I'm still a beginner at this business and didn't explain properly. Section 11 of the Wideview manual says that wideview can syncronise the weather automatically but requires a registered version of FSUIPC on all the PC's. I'd like to know whether I can register a copy of FSUIPC and install it on all 5 PC's or if I have to pay for 5 registered copies. Thanks again.
