FSUIPC4 for FSX

Recommended Posts

install FSUIPC4 in FSX, I have no "Add-onn" in Menuelisting from FSX !!

Can you help me?

Probably, but I need more information.

Is there a Modules folder in the FSX main folder? If so, find the Log files, which will tell us what is going on. There should be at least an Install log, and maybe also an FSUIPC4.Log -- the latter file is only produced if FSUIPC4 is actually loaded and run by FSX. Paste both of these files in a message here.

If there's no Modules folder then the install failed. Please run the Installer again and save the log file (use the File menu on the displayed log, behind the message box you might get). Then paste that here.

If you are getting an error message when running the Installer, tell me what it says.

Pete

FSUIPC4 Install

Oh dear. You have Windows suppressing the filenames of known file types! Ugh!

The "FSUIPC Install" file will be a Log file (real name "FSUIPC4 Install.log").

One of the "FSUIPC4" files will be "FSUIPC4.INI" -- the generated configuration settings, proving FSUIPC4 has been run, and the other will be "FSUIPC4.LOG".

Paste both log files here, as I asked, and we will take it from there. So far it looks as if things are working, so you should get the Add-Ons menu, which is produced by SimConnect, but we shall see when there are details to check!

Incidentally, it looks as if you are out of date with the version of FSUIPC4 you have installed. The current version (4.40) installs more files than that.

Pete

Greetings,i'm new here and have a question.I don't have a creditcard anymore,is it possible to send money or in another way.

I don't deal with sales, but there are plenty of ways to pay detailed on the SimMarket website - and, in fact, printed on an early page in the FSUIPC user guide.

********* FSUIPC4, Version 4.20 by Pete Dowson *********

First thing wrong is that you are using an unsupported version of FSUIPC. Version 4.20 is two full user versions out of date. The current one is 4.40. Please review the Announcements at the top of this forum.

Secondly, you've posted a lot of files (or, rather, several copies of the same two files), most of which were not requested, but unfortunately you did not post the most important one of all, the "Install FSUIPC4" log file, which is certainly there (as you listed it), and I did explicitly ask for it.

Lastly, whilst without the Install file I cannot be sure, but from this:

1547 SimConnect_Open succeeded: waiting to check version okay

39203 Exception 5 "VERSION_MISMATCH", Ref 127, Version 0.60905: Open: SimConnect Version incorrect!

39203 Trying another version of SimConnect ...

39297 NOTE: SimConnect SP1 May07 is supported, but it isn't installed.

It appears as if you've not updated FSX from the original release (and I'd advise you to install both SP1 and SP2 as they fix a lot of problems in FSX), but you have some SimConnect installation error in any case.

Have you had occasion to re-install FSX at all? That does seem to be rather precarious, and messes many folks systems up. OR have you been copying a "SimConnect.DLL" file anywhere? I've seen that error when folks have attempted to fix Windows side-by-side problems by trying to move files. It doesn't work.

I'd recommend four things, in order:

1. Follow the instructions given in the "FSX Help" announcement above to repairing SimConnect (not logging).

2. Install FSUIPC 4.40, to get yourself up to date there.

Then check that everything is okay, before:

3. Install FSX SP1, and check okay again.

4. Install FSX SP2, and check okay again.

If you intend to get Acceleration, then do that and install it instead of steps 3 and 4.

Pete

Pete,

Per your request to post here? I am having trouble getting my elite pro panel console to be recognized by FSUIPC. When I first start up FSX, the console powers up. The flaps switch, trim switch and most buttons like starter seem to work fine. Just the Yoke, Throttle quadrant, gear handle and rudders do not have any response. I can however go under the add on menu to Elite Config and it allows me to calibrate the controls, in other words when I exercise the throttles, they show movement on the calibration screen and I am able to set them. However, when I go to the FSUIPC add on I do not see any values show up on the joystick calibration. In any case FSX does not respond to movements in the the console controls.

Elite tech support gave me the following website for the latest driver; http://www.flyelite.com/flightsim. The Elite Driver comes with FSUIPC 4.0 but it did not install as the one I got was 4.40... Should I try installing the 4.0 version? I also tried installing the service pack 1 for FSX and the accelerator... the symptoms did not change.

Thanks for the quick reply

Bob

Check the assignments in FSX, and make sure the sensitivity is at max and the dead zone at min. for each.

I really don't know what Elite do in their drivers. I really have nothing to do with their products. You probably need to ask for their support if you cannot sort it out in FSX. You shouldn't need to use FSUIPC for this.

No!

Pete,

Interesting results while working with Elite tech support... I basically reinstalled everything several times with the same results, but on the last time, I deleted the FSUIPC registration and everything works fine. I reregistered it and it stops working again?

Any ideas? Is this a you issue or an Elite issue?

Thanks

Bob

...I deleted the FSUIPC registration and everything works fine. I reregistered it and it stops working again?

Any ideas? Is this a you issue or an Elite issue?

There are only two possible causes of that:

1. The registration key you have was purchased AFTER the system date you have set on your PC, so it isn't yet valid and looks to FSUIPC like a forgery.

or

2. It is a forged key made by one of the hacked key generators floating around.

I suppose it must be the former, as you surely would not be asking for support if you knew you were using an illegitimate key!

If you reckon neither of these cases fit, please ZIP up your FSUIPC4.KEY file and send it to me at petedowson@btconnect.com and I will check it thoroughly.

yes...I have that listed in the add-on menu on top. Alos....I'm running FSX with all updates... am using the FSUIPC 4.4 (latest version), and when I open my Flight Deck Companion (FDC)....I get all the voices fine....(already talked with Dave March from FDC)....that's all fine.. when I start FSX and go to the add-on menu...I see the FDC there and when I click on it, it says in the little window it's ACTIVE.....but I don't get the voices. What's happening is, something is shutting off/blocking the FDC after FLight Sim is loaded it sounds like. I did notice too in the trusted/untrusted publishers the FSUIPC isn;t in there even though when I loaded the FSUIPC and it asks... I selected always load and trust software from Pete Dowson.

here's are a few files as well maybe that will help:

There are three simconnect files and when you open with notepad they look like a bunch of jibberish as well

Also.....shouldn't there be a SimConnect file in the Modules folder? If so, I don;t have one in there

I've gone through Microsoft, what a pain they are...not much further than I started on my own. Thanks

yes...I have that listed in the add-on menu on top.

You do realise that you appear to be replying to a message from over a month ago, don't you? Is this really the same problem? Have you been away for a month?

Alos....I'm running FSX with all updates... am using the FSUIPC 4.4 (latest version), and when I open my Flight Deck Companion (FDC)....I get all the voices fine....(already talked with Dave March from FDC)....that's all fine.. when I start FSX and go to the add-on menu...I see the FDC there and when I click on it, it says in the little window it's ACTIVE.....but I don't get the voices. Nothing of mine has anything to do with sound, so won't affect voices. In the above paragraph you seem to contradict yourself. You say "when I open my Flight Deck Companion (FDC)....I get all the voices fine", then later "I don't get the voices". I don't understand? What is it in FDC which starts and stops these "voices".

I'm afraid I don't have the FDC package and know nothing about it, so you do certainly need help from Dave March if you have any problems with it.

I did notice too in the trusted/untrusted publishers the FSUIPC isn;t in there even though when I loaded the FSUIPC and it asks... I selected always load and trust software from Pete Dowson.

FSUIPC is not a "publisher". If you told Windows to always trust "Peter L. Dowson" then that name will be in Internet Explorer's "trusted publishers" list, not FSUIPC.

here's are a few files as well maybe that will help:

By " a few files" you mean only the DLL.XML file? That's all you showed, and that's no help. Why did you think it might be? Where's the FSUIPC4.LOG file? If you suspect an FSUIPC4 problem, that is the file you need to look at.

Is there an FSUIPC entry in the FSX Modules folder? You need to check!

There are three simconnect files and when you open with notepad they look like a bunch of jibberish as well

There should be NO simconnect files anywhere you should be looking at. The only SimConnect files are in the Windows side-by-side library folder and they are binary libraries, not "gibberish". Please try to be more explicit -- name what you are looking at precisely..

Also.....shouldn't there be a SimConnect file in the Modules folder?

No! Most certainly not! Whatever gave you that idea?

I've gone through Microsoft, what a pain they are...not much further than I started on my own. Thanks

Why would you expect Microsoft to know anything about third party add-ons like FDC?

Regards

Pete
