JPL19
Hello Pete, I saw your posting on the UT2 issue on their forums. I worked on the phone with Tom (the developer) this weekend trying to help troubleshoot. I wanted to pass on an observation - the issue of the UT program/traffic then disappering in a few seconds seems to be tied to whether or not WideFS is active (in my case). (WiseFSenabled=No). I do not know if it is the same for everyone that is having the issue. Tom from "Flag Mountain" , the developer, is aware of my case. Just wanted to pass it on in case you get involved troubleshooting / helping them (all of us) as well. Thanks, Joe Lorenc

I'll try disabling WideFS, just as a test. I normally have 7 or 8 clients running. It is certainly a change brought about by the latest UT2 hotfix, though, as it was fine before.. I'm not able to test again today, but I'll try tomorrow. Just wanted to pass it on in case you get involved troubleshooting / helping them (all of us) as well. Okay. Thanks. JPL19
According to the UT2 forums their program will work with FSUIPC 4.2 or earlier? Is there by chance anywhere to get that old version? I have all the way back to 4.208, but unforunately that dosn't seem to be back far enough. Thought that would be a quicker solution than uninstalling / reinstalling UT2 to get the base version. Thank you for any help. Joe
cshark172
If you read the post carefully it says it will work with the current FSUIPC, only if WideFS is not used. You only need to use an older FSUIPC if you want to use WideFS. Unfortunately, I don't ever fly without WideFS and am using features from later versions of FSUIPC, so I am stuck using the older versions of UT2. Pete Dowson
According to the UT2 forums their program will work with FSUIPC 4.2 or earlier? I don't actually believe that -- it appears to only have a problem when WideServer is enabled, and there's been no changes in the wideServer component since way before 4.2. I'm in touch with their developers, but since it is their program which is terminating without even an error message, there's no way I can actually debug it for them -- unless they provide me their source (ha ha). I'm sure that if they can reproduce it (and they must be able to) they can quickly locate the problem. They can use a debugger to find out where in their programming it goes wrong. Pete Dowson
According to the UT2 forums their program will work with FSUIPC 4.2 or earlier? I don't actually believe that -- it appears to only have a problem when WideServer is enabled, and there's been no changes in the wideServer component since way before 4.2. Just to confirm this, I've found no previous version of FSUIPC which allows UT2 to operate when WideServer is enabled. It appears that either SimConnect is generating a spurious "Quit" notice (to UT2 only), or UT2 is misinterpreting something else as a Quit notice. Since this has only been occurring since the recent UT2 HotFix I think it should be relatively easy for the UT2 folks to nail the issue. I'm trying to help as much as I can.
