I am running FSX Gold Edition under Windows Vista 64bit Home Premium and FSUIPC does not appear to load. I don't get the ADD-ONS item in the FSX menu and there is no FSUIPC4.log file in the FSX modules folder. The FSUIPC4 Install.log is shown below.

The usual reason for this is that you have a corrupted DLL.XML file. There are a few other add-ons which sometimes mess it up during their own installation. The FSUIPC4 installer does its best to correct blatant errors in that, but it is not a full XML parser and can't fix everything. You definitely seem to have other entries in there.

Find the file (DLL.XML) in this folder:

C:\Users\Dave\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\

and paste it into a message here. Use notepad or some other ordinary text editor to cut and paste it. I'll look at it and tell you how to fix it.

Pete

The PIC737XHelper section is corrupted, its also stopping FSUIPC from being listed properly.

I've removed the offending PIC737X section and fixed the rest of the dll.xml it should be fine now. I would have fixed the PIC737 section as well but I have no idea what the name of the dll is or where its located, you will have to either reinstall that or see if you can find out what the info should be from somewhere else.

[Later] I've fixed the 737 section now as well just copy and paste the whole lot to your dll.xml and it should be all working now.

Okay. It is corrupted. Looks like the installation of "FeelThere PIC737X Helper" went wrong.

Edit this part, near the end, deleting the two lines I've coloured red:

FeelThere PIC737X Helper

False<

FSUIPC 4

False

Modules\FSUIPC4.dll

If that "Helper" is important to you (it couldn't have been loaded in any case) you might need to re-install it. I can't fix that with the information here. If reinstalling it again corrupts the file you'll need to complain to FeelThere, but at least you'll know what to do.

I already have reinstalled fsx completely, so i have a fresh install now.

Same is for AI Carriers 2, i just downloaded. It just doesnt load in flight sim.

Windows 7 64 bit ultimate & FSX Deluxe & Acceleration

Edit: I got AI carriers 2 to work, but still no progress on fsuipc 4.6

FSUIPC just doesnt load, and when i try installing the VRS superbug, it says it cant find it. I have definately installed it so i dont know what the problem is. Help please...

More information please:

1. What is the symptom of "FSUIPC not loading"? The fact that an add-on "can't find it" doesn't automatically mean it isn't loaded -- more likely just that the application cannot connect, and that is an entirely different matter. When you run FSX and get to the normal flight mode, ready to fly, is there an "Add-Ons" menu entry, and if so, does it contain FSUIPC?

2. If not, look in the FSX Modules folder. Is there an FSUIPC4.Log file? If so, it is being loaded but you have some FSX installation error. Show me the FSUIPC4.Log.

3. Please also show me the Install log from the FSX Modules folder.

I already have reinstalled fsx completely, so i have a fresh install now.

Re-installing FSX is usually a very very bad idea. It seems to be the major cause of SimConnect corruptions. Folks getting into these problems sometimes then have to resort to reinstalling Windows completely.

Same is for AI Carriers 2, i just downloaded. It just doesnt load in flight sim.

Does that use FSUIPC?

Edit: I got AI carriers 2 to work, but still no progress on fsuipc 4.6

Not sure how to interpret that. If AI Carriers uses FSUIPC, then obviously FSUIPC is installed okay.

Please answer the questions above and we'll go from there.

Pete
