fsxfollow Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 Any iPad or iPhone users outside who wants to betatest a WideFS client version of FSXFollow? The program on your device will connect to WideFS Server and show the plane on the map. Please mail to jeroen@fsxfollow.com if you are interested. Also features requests welcome. 1
Ian P Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 What about iPod Touch, out of interest? Ian P.
fsxfollow Posted September 15, 2011 Author Report Posted September 15, 2011 What about iPod Touch, out of interest? Ian P. IPod Touch as well. Sorry, i was too lazy to mention all the devices
Ian P Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 I'm not an expert on iToys and programming for them, so wasn't sure whether the coding would be the same or not. Thanks! Ian P.
dcutugno Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Is possible to read Lvars from iPhone/Ipad and display those on it? If so what is the way to do it? We need a server or we can connect directly to fsuipc? Thank you for the reply
Pete Dowson Posted November 6, 2011 Report Posted November 6, 2011 Is possible to read Lvars from iPhone/Ipad and display those on it? Since this new software works using the WideFS protocol (i.e. is serviced by WideServer in the FS PC), and since WideFS cannot supply L:Var reading facilities even to PC clients, except by invoking Lua plug-ins to write the values to offsets and reading those, there's really no chance. The software described in this thread is actually a moving map, a WideFS version of FSXFollow, as it says. It is not an FSUIPC interface. FSXFollow needs its own module installed in FSX to service it, whilst WideFSMap just needs WideFS enabled on the FS PC, and so can work with all versions of FS since FS98. If so what is the way to do it? If you are capable of writing programs for the iPad/iPhone/iPod, then you could do it easily enough using a Lua plug-in on the FS PC to read the L:Vars and provide a service over the Network on a selected TCP/IP Port, and connect to it to receive the data on the iDevice. Evamples of using the Lua sockets library are included in the Lua plug-ins installed with FSUIPC -- the example provided actually links up two copies of FS, one running as slave to the other. But the principle is the same no matter what the data or how it is used. Regards Pete
zizon65 Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 Hello fsxfollow, Just to tell you that it'll be great I I could get widefs orking with my iPad 3! Do you have a solution? Thanks Best regards
Pete Dowson Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 Just to tell you that it'll be great I I could get widefs orking with my iPad 3! Do you have a solution? What would be the application? WideFS is really just a way of extending the FSUIPC application interface over a Network. What FSUIPC applications are there running on an iPad? I shouldn't think there were any. Are you thinking of writing some? Regards Pete
pilotgil Posted September 13, 2012 Report Posted September 13, 2012 I would be glad to try it. I have an iPad 3. My system is FS9, with FSUIPC, and WideFS which connects my IS. I will email you.
