Here it is, but I don't understand I enable weather log with new log and it saves only this.

Sorry, I misled you. I had extra logging enabled in my example. I forgot to disable it.

The sort of entry to look for in your case, with weather logging enabled, is this:

	98766 Weather Read request (At Lat/Lon) to area 3: Lat=50.00, Lon=-0.00, Alt=0.0, Req=0
98938 Weather requested from ASE for Lat 50.0000, Lon -0.0000
99031 WX Received in (null), WX request type 3, ICAO=EGCC
99031 Weather received from ASE: "???? 021529Z 22501KT&D457NG 340V060 30302KT&A914NG 28104KT&A1829NG 24710KT&A2743NG 26713KT&A3658NG 26425KT&A5486NG 26425KT&A7315NG 26131KT&A9144NG 26630KT&A10363NG 28025KT&A11887NG 29416KT&A13411NG 29717KT&A14935NG 51KM&B-2000&D4000 3ST114&ST000FNVN000N 1ST159&ST000FOVN000N 10/03 06/M06&A914 00/M12&A1829 M01/M13&A2743 M10/M22&A3658 M24/M36&A5486 M36/M48&A7315 M49/M61&A9144 M55/M67&A10363 M55/M67&A11887 M55/M67&A13411 M61/M73&A14935 Q1007"
Search the log for "Weather requested from ASE" or "Weather received from ASE".

There is no request for weather from any outside program logged in the section of Log you posted, so you won't find it there.

If you want I'll do again full flight later. I think I should not click to new file.

You shouldn't click any other buttons really, but that's up to you. it will stop one log file and start a new one. I don't need to see these files, i just want you to look for the right things so you can see the METAR being supplied.

If for some reason ASE doesn't supply the weather, the equivalent log entries for a request for weather at Lat/Lon will be like this:
62500 Weather Received (type 3 request, Interpolated): "????&A0 021559Z 10809KT&D304NG 101V115 7000&B-1500&D2040 CLR 15/12 Q1013 "
62516 WX Received in 110 mSecs, WX request type 3, Lat=50.0000, Lon=-0.0000, Alt=0.0m
The METAR here is one from FSX, not from ASE\AS2012. That's because i didn't have ASE/AS2012 running.

The common thing between these is "type 3" so you could do your search on that. All type 3 requests are from external programs.

BTW, I assume you've checked that you don't have "UseASEweather=No" in your FSUIPC4.INI file? That parameter shouldn't be there, and it then defaults to using ASE/AS2012 if the latter is set to DWC mode. You can set it to "Yes" to force it to use ASE/AS2012 all the time, even if DWC is not being used.

I found it but how may I send to you?

Found what? Sorry, you've lost me.

Regards

Pete

Hi Pete,

So I look in the full log of my last flight and I have no type 3 in the log only "1" and "5".

For this question: Found what? Sorry, you've lost me. It was the full log of my flight if you want to look at? but I can't sent via your forum.

And I haven't this line "UseASEweather=No" in my fsuipc4.cfg

Christian

So I look in the full log of my last flight and I have no type 3 in the log only "1" and "5".

In that case RC is not asking FSUIPC for any weather. Tyoes 1 and 5 are the standard weather offset populating requests done by FSUIPC all the time, for weather at the aircraft, and don't use ASE.

For this question: Found what? Sorry, you've lost me. It was the full log of my flight if you want to look at? but I can't sent via your forum.

Well you can usually attach them if they are Zipped, but i don't really want them. If i need to look, I'll say so. But first you'll need to replicate RC asking for weather.

Pete

What do you mean by "replicate RC asking for weather", sorry but I don't understand what I have to do.

Sorry,"replicate" ==> reproduce the symtoms.

Reproduce the problem of RC asking for the weather and getting it wrong. Logs showing normal weather-at-aircraft entries with no requests being made don't tell us anything. So far you've not shown anything asking for any weather, not at all.

Hi,

Ok but I can't do it...When I did my last flight the problem was still here so I can't do anything more to show you something in the log.

So it's something else but what? that is the question and seems to me that is nothing to do with Fsuipc

Thanks a lot for your support

Christian

If you were running RC and you asked for ATIS via RC, then it most certainly will ask FSUIPC for the weather and this will be logged. I believe RC checks the weather at other times too, to get the QNH when descending to altitudes, for example, and to determine runway to use (as well as looking at whatever runway the AI traffic are using).

If RC is not reading the weather then it cannot give you the wrong winds -- it can't give you any winds. I don't think it invents them on its own!

So it's something else but what? that is the question and seems to me that is nothing to do with Fsuipc

Currently it seems that either RC is not reading any weather, or RC is not running, or it is running but it is not connecting with this install of FS.

If RC is actually running you need to ask RC support why it isn't reading weather. You'll probably be asked to supply an RC log.

Pete

I'm joining this thread late, after being referred from my thread over at the Radar Contact forum. I'm new to RC, but not to FSUIPC. My current version is 3.99 and registered along with WideFS. FS9. ASE and RC are all on the same computer. ASE shows the current weather at the airport with winds 180/11, altimeter 29.84 etc.. What ATIS is giving me is winds 155/04 and altimeter 29.83. ATIS also announces one runway for departures, but when I talk with ground they assign another. I've downloaded FSUIPC 4812d zipped, but the single file within is FSUIPC4.dll. There is no install routine for FSUIPC4 and I don't know how to install it. When I placed it in my FS9/Modules folder I get an error message. Here is my FSUIPC log. Thoughts? Thank you!!!!

FSUIPC4 is for FSX and Prepar3D. It cannot work with FS9 or before.

The facilities regarding weather from ASE are not applicable to FS9 in any way whatsoever. You do not need to use DWC in FS9 to get around wind shift problems, so there is not need for FSUIPC to supply clients with weather from ASE. I think you have got yourself rather confused. This thread and its complete subject is solely concerned with FSX and ASE/AS1012's DWC mode.

Pete, you are correct in that I'm completely confused and I'm sorry if I barged in on this by mistake. I will continue to track down an answer to my problems through other means. I am glad to know the problem isn't with FSUIPC. As always FSUIPC is great as is WideFS. I've been a happy customer for many years. Thanks again.

MakeRwys.EXE  Version 4.675

Version 4.928 of FSUIPC4.dll

4.929 is the current supported version. Please use that. If you still get a problem I need to know EXACT details. RC reads the weather from FSUIPC which it turn gets it from FSX's Simconnect. If you are only concerned with runway assignment, be aware that RC selects runways using different criteria to FS. Tell me the differences you see in the ATIS, don't just say "they are not the same". And are you talking about departure or arrival?

I use ASN + RC and it is always spot on.

Hello again:)

Now I use OPUS FSX weather.

Yesterday I installed the latest fsuipc and makerwy from your site.

Using RC 4.3 together with opus fsx is not given correct atis from rc 4.3 when aproaching my destination airport.

Departure atis from rc 4.3 is always 100% correct compared to the given weather from opus fsx.

But the destination atis from rc is incorrect..

80 miles from airport.. 60 miles and when contacting approach the atis information is incorrect.

But always about 20 miles from airport and I check the weather again, its suddenly 100% correct..

Is there a solution for that ?

You'd need to see if Opus has a facility to freeze arrival weather further out. There's nothing FSUIPC or RC can do. The weather is read from FSX, and if that's what Opus tells FSX, that's what RC sees.

It is different for ActiveSky where its local weather is read separately. Even then, that fiddle only applies to a WideClient remote RC. Otherwise you have to invoke the arrival weather freeze in Active Sky too.

For the last hours I have tried with some flights, all from EKCH to EDDH.

Loaded OPUS and get the departure ATIS from RC - its 100% correct.   winds 230/14..

I can see in pop up windows and charts from OPUS- all time down to EDDH, the correct weather.

But RC says wrong ATIS all the way down to Hamburg, when I call Weather information.  I receive inflight atis information sepereated pr 5 mins, it tells me exactly the same atis as in EKCH.

70 miles from EDDH I call again. The controller gives me EDDH local information, it is still the same atis as EKCH atis   winds 230/14.

First about 20 miles from EDDH it gives me correct atis   winds 280/9.

Then I did another flight...

Still about 70 miles from EDDH, Atis say local EDDH atis information - but it still gives me the atis from EKCH 230/14     (it have to be 280/9   If I study the opus map from EDDH)

Then I try loading FSX default RW, it says 300/10 for EDDH, and immeatly RC also says the correct ATIS 70 miles from EDDH,

Then I clear the weather, load OPUS again- RC atis return to the EKCH weather 230/14...

There must be a solution :)  have seen other have same problem..

Will try writing to OPUS also, but have seen in another forum- they will tell me its a fsuipc problem ...

Will it help to try writing to RC support ?

No, it won't help, and it is not an FSUIPC problem. FSUIPC cannot foresee what weather Opus will be setting. All it knows is the weather set in FS, and Opus is apparently setting the same weather for the whole world, all the same, and changing it as you fly.

Active Sky provided a workaround which is to set the arrival weather at a distance out from the destination. --50 miles, or maybe 80, I don't recall. Since you wouldn't expect to receive arrival ATIS until in range of its transmissions, that works fine. Just get ATIS when in whatever range Active Sky sets.

If Opus is not providing such an option then you must ask for it. There's no alternative without changing weather programs. Neither FSUIPC nor RC can work magic.

okay...

But just find i strange- that RC not can say the correct ATIS..

Because OPUS have loaded the weather over 200 km away.

It works fine at the departure.. its just have to say what loaded in the SIM, what OPUS did ...

But thanks anyway :)

You haven't understood what I told you, then. RC can only give you the weather as set in FS. The normal FS real weather downloads are localised -- each weather station has its own weather set, so the ATIS from each can be different.

I think Opus is using GLOBAL weather -- setting the weather all over the world to exactly the same as it is at your aircraft. It is probably doing this in order to more easily smooth changes and prevent wind swings etc, which are a result of bad interpolations between weather stations in FS's code.

Therefore there is no way anything outside of Opus can know the weather at the destination until Opus sets it into FS.

It works fine at the departure.

Yes, because your aircraft is there, isn't it? It will work fine at the destination if you put your aircraft there!!
