Manny Posted October 4, 2015 Report Posted October 4, 2015 The VAS available being shown is seems way too much available. I do get OOMs..but available vAS is 2.5 Manny
paulmidd Posted October 4, 2015 Report Posted October 4, 2015 What that number is showing you is VAS being used, not VAS available.
Manny Posted October 4, 2015 Author Report Posted October 4, 2015 In that case I have another 1.5G available? since 4-2.5=1.5 But right at that point I have OOM or FSUIPC Beeps/Pop up
paulmidd Posted October 4, 2015 Report Posted October 4, 2015 Correction - my mistake - it's the amount of free VAS. But you should only be getting an OOM if it shows something like 150K.
Manny Posted October 4, 2015 Author Report Posted October 4, 2015 Correction - my mistake - it's the amount of free VAS. But you should only be getting an OOM if it shows something like 150K. Exactly... So its showing I have a VAS of 2.5 G left yet it beeps that I am running low on VAS often times with Flightbeam KSFO and PMDG 777 and other sceneries added I get OOMs Manny
Pete Dowson Posted October 4, 2015 Report Posted October 4, 2015 Exactly... So its showing I have a VAS of 2.5 G left yet it beeps that I am running low on VAS often times with Flightbeam KSFO and PMDG 777 and other sceneries added I get OOMs Manny The FSUIPC beeped warnings are based on a comparison of the value in offset 024C with 256000, which means 250 Mb left only, so the beeps at the point shown in your picture cannot be from FSUIPC -- or maybe the display on the title bar has frozen for some reason? Best to log to "normal log" so the progress of the value can be clearly seen, and even timestamped! Pete
Manny Posted October 5, 2015 Author Report Posted October 5, 2015 Pete this is not a single instance..this is a pattern..so its not frozen LEt me see how to do a normal log.. I haven't done this in a while I have forgotten how to turn on the log
Pete Dowson Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 Pete this is not a single instance..this is a pattern..so its not frozen Nevertheless the value in 024C IS the value being checked when FSUIPC issues its warnings. And the check IS less than 250Mb (256000). LEt me see how to do a normal log.. I haven't done this in a while I have forgotten how to turn on the log You don't "turn on the log". There is ALWAYS a log. You have opted to monitor 024C on the title bar, near where you did that there is an option to monitor in the "normal log". You can't miss it if you've already managed to set it in the title bar! You can also log messages like Memory in use: nnnnMb, Avail=nnnnMb by adding Debug=Please LogExtras=x1000 to the [General] section of the INI file before running the sim. Also note that the check is only performed at most every 10 seconds, but it might be made much less frequent (up to 3600 seconds, or one hour) using the parameter OOMcheckInterval=10 (in seconds). Pete

Manny Posted October 5, 2015 Author Report Posted October 5, 2015 Pete..it may not be OOM.. its windows message something like this. Its almost identical except it says close "Prepar3D" The pop up I keep mentioning is this windiow This is PAgefile issue and now I remember I swapped my FSX SSD to a 1TB SSD for the new P3D V3 and that smaller SSD is running out of space.. Sorry about this pete Let me try to fix that and come back and report back.
Manny Posted October 5, 2015 Author Report Posted October 5, 2015 YES that was the issue I created a new Page file and now I am able to load my PMDG 777 in Flightbeam's KSFO! https://youtu.be/Pze9ZtfBChM
Pete Dowson Posted October 5, 2015 Report Posted October 5, 2015 YES that was the issue I created a new Page file and now I am able to load my PMDG 777 in Flightbeam's KSFO! https://youtu.be/Pze9ZtfBChM Okay. Thanks from confirming. I could see for sure it was not FSUIPC OOM detection, not FSUIPC's "beep" but a Windows "ding"! Pete
