Unstable device location Saitek pro-flight quadrant

Recommended Posts

After thinking I had all my axis, buttons, etc. programmed through FSUIPC when I go to program buttons on the quadrant after I select the button the device suddenly switch from "4" to "3".  This happens on all buttons 1-6.  Deleted my FSUIPC4.ini file and let it reinstall with no "aircraft specific" loaded.  I then began to re-program all the buttons and... same thing.

No doubt I am screwing something up, Pete, but ask if you would take a look at my .ini file and see where I'm going wrong.

Never heard of anything like that happening, and quite honestly I don't see any way it could at that stage. The joysticks are scanned initially, on loading, and (unless opted out) each time you enter the FSUIPC Options, but never whilst actually using the options.

What I think is happening, and which is what is confusing you, is that you have these devices on 3 and 4:

3=Saitek Pro Flight Yoke
3.GUID={269DA5B0-18C3-11E0-8001-444553540000}
4=Saitek Pro Flight Quadrant
4.GUID={10B71790-2C2A-11E3-8001-444553540000}

I think one or more of the buttons on your yoke is giving spurious "pressed" signals. Maybe its connection is bad, or the power it is getting is insufficient (it needs a powered hub I think, if not a good USB power from the PC). If neither of these things then it is faulty or just plain dirty.

To test this theory, just temporarily unplug the yoke. (Remember which USB socket though).

Just a note here. The Pro Flight Yoke also has a throttle quadrant attached and will be seen as device 3 with its

6 switches (plus the axis detent switches). It is plugged into the Yoke with a proprietary plug.

You do have 2 quadrants, do you not?

The second throttle quadrant will also have 6 switches plus the detents and be seen as device 4. It is plugged into

a USB port.

I have these devices and have never had an issue with programming the axis or switches via FSUIPC4.
