error message received when installing RT?

do you have a standard install?  custom install directory?

computer operating system?

did Tower! work before installing RT?

No issues with the install, used the standard install from the website but tower was downloaded through amazon. Tower is running fine, I'm also having trouble with the airfield editor but that's a different problem.

did you search this sub-forum for discussions about sequencing and troubleshooting RT installs?

and the OS on the computer is???

Windows 8, I'm aware Tower is "not compatible" but I ran it as an admin and it works fine.

Here are the specs for Tower!2011 that indicates it is Windows 8 compatible, and a quick look at the forum indicates that people are running it under Windows 10.

As far as Real Traffic for Tower!2011 goes, the latest package I have is real_traffic_sp5.exe.

Please do not send a screenshot of your receipt, but a screenshot of the game showing what is not working might help. Also, in your:
C:\Program Files (x86)\FeelThere\Tower! 2011\Databases and especially in your C:\Program Files (x86)\FeelThere\Tower! 2011\Airplanes directory, you should have lots of files of the airplanes.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum computer specification:

1.2 GHz Processor

1GB memory for Windows XP and 1.5GB memory for Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8

256MB video card memory

700MB hard disk space

Sound card

Mouse

Windows Speech Recognition language setting must be set to English US

Recommended hardware:

3.0 GHz processor

3GB memory for Windows XP and 4GB memory for Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8

512MB video card memory

Two button mouse with a middle button scroll wheel

Two or three monitors. Matrox TripleHead2 is fully supported

Hope this helps,
RickyJ

Interesting, whenever I run Tower without the admin privileges it crashes. Anyways, all the aircraft are under those folders, They just don't appear in game and the airlines are still the default fantasy airlines.

Thanks for the help

If you edit your:
C:\Program Files (x86)\FeelThere\Tower! 2011\Databases\schedule.txt file do you see:
AAB, AAA, JT1, LW, 2995, 09:00, 21:30, 450, LW
AAE, ALG, TRP, TG, 6001, 12:20, 11:00, 80, TG
AAE, LYS, JT1, TG, 1156, 16:15, 13:25, 110, TG
AAE, MRS, JT1, TG, 1150, 10:30, 08:00, 90, TG
AAL, CPH, RJ1, CB, 1210, 16:50, 16:05, 45, CB
AAL, CPH, RJ1, CB, 1214, 14:15, 13:30, 45, CB

Where in the third column the aircraft type is JT1, TRP, RJ1, etc. "default aircraft" or:

AAB, AAA, TU3, SU, 2995, 09:00, 21:30, 450, SU
AAE, ALG, ATR, AH, 6001, 12:20, 11:00, 80, AH
AAE, ALG, 736, AH, 6009, 20:15, 19:15, 60, AH
AAE, LYS, 738, AH, 1156, 16:15, 13:25, 110, AH
AAL, CPH, 321, SK, 1202, 07:55, 07:05, 50, SK

AAL, CPH, M82, SK, 1228, 07:05, 06:20, 45, SK

Where the third column indicates, TU3, ATR, 736, 738,321, etc. "Real Traffic"

P.S. I also have to run Tower!2011 as administrator.

P.P.S. Try running the Real Traffic executable as administrator.

Here is a screenshot of my C:\Program Files (x86)\FeelThere\Tower! 2011\Databases directory before and after installing Real Traffic.

Before:
Tower2011_Default.JPG

After:
Tower2011_RT.JPG

Notice the size of the airlines.txt and airplanes.txt files are a lot larger.

RickyJ

Ok, so I have the aircraft in the airplanes folder but I don't have the updated schedules and airlines under "databases"

You can try specifying an alternate directory when installing Real Traffic, compare that the new file sizes are larger, then manually move the files to their correct location, over writing the files that are there.

But how do I install it again there's no code or anything
