It seems that FSUIPC creates the DLL.XML at the wrong direction (AppData-Roaming).

The AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 folder IS the correct directory! I think you maybe a bit confused? (Easy to get confused with L-M's new rather over complex add-on control system).

The ProgramData DLL.XML file is where higher priority loads are enabled. FSUIPC5 should be the last loaded except for the Active Sky DLL, it is best in the AppData\Roaming version.

paulavny, i had the same message, remove the DLL file into the user/app data/roaming/LM/P3D then you will be able to reinstall fsuipc. It works, then I choose not now for the registration and fsuipc installs fine. But unfortunately, it doesn't fix the initial problem that fsuipc does not appear in P3D..

Thanks for your reply Pete ,

Do you offer a “Team Viewer “ option to look into the guts of it ?

I’m not a computer wiz , nor a beginner . Just a Pilot from a different era.

A step by step guide where to look will help .

Is there anything to say about my install log please?

No, it looks fine, and it shows that a brand new DLL.XML file was created in

C:\Users\nico\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\

Please find the DLL.XML file and attach it or show it (not a screenshot though, please).

Which "era" is that? I am 74. Are you of an earlier generation?

All I need is data to look at. Files mostly.

Yes, thank you.

This error: Exception code: 0xc0000409

is, according to this web page http://winwiki.org/exception-code-0xc0000409/
caused by Windows system file corruption.

It appears to be something to do with the Locale setting (CRT) in Win10. I just found this report:

This was a bug in the TH1 build (10.0.10240) of the Universal CRT. The bug was fixed in the Windows 10 November Update (TH2) build (10.0.10586).

So please check that your Windows is properly updated and that you are on build 10.0.10586 or later.

Peter,

First of all, I've been using the registered versions of FSUIPC4 with FSX for the past few years, and I recently upgraded to the registered version of FSUIPC5 when I purchased P3Dv4.

Everything has always worked fine in Windows 7. I upgraded my PC over the weekend, and I updated my OS to Windows 10. I haven't gotten FSUIPC5 to work since.

FSUIPC5 seems to install and allow me to register correctly, but it will not show in the addons menu when I start P3Dv4. I noticed that the <Path> in the DLL.XML file displays \Modules\FSUIPC5.DLL</Path>. I tried changing it to <Path>E:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Modules\</Path>, but this causes the sim to Crash. However, it doesn't crash completely, as it still shows it is running in the Windows Task Manager.

I tried the most recent windows update tonight, and I tried removing, reinstalling, registering FSUIPC5 again. This has not solved the issue. Any further assistance on this issue is appreciated. I can upload any logs or data you may need. Just tell me where to start.

Thank you.

Peter,

Update. I removed the .KEY file from the modules folder, and now FSUIPC5 is now present in the addon list when P3Dv4 loads.

It seems I cannot run the registered version at this time.

Looks like the uploaded Installer was corrupted somehow. I downloaded it myself and got the same result. I've re-uploaded it now, so please clear your cache (F5 I think0 and re-download it.

I've added a DLL.XML file corruption check, which, if you run it now without first deleting your old corrupted DLL.XML, will prompt you to delete it and re-run the installer.

The first format is fine. Your replacement is trying to tell P3D to load a program called "modules", which is a folder not a program!

I need to see the FSUIPC5.LOG file with the KEY properly present. FSUIPC5 is obviously being loaded okay or else whether the KEY file is there or not would make no difference.

NOTE that your posts are essentially on a different subject to the main subject of this thread, which was a corrupt installer problem.

Pete ,

A little younger then you are .

From the “round analog dials “ time . Too much “glass” in the cockpit - not for me .

“ Looks like the uploaded Installer was corrupted somehow “

indeed it was . Was good a few weeks ago , don’t understand how it changed .

Now after the upgrade of my machine needed it again but no luck .

To business : Managed to install finally , but now it’s not shown in my P3D V4 top

Yes, the install shows everything worked fine.  Was that after re-downloading the Installer?

But I need to see your DLL.XML file, and i need you to check the Modules folder for an FSUIPC5.LOG, and if there is one, show it to me.

The DLL.XML file will be here:
C:\Users\Paul\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\

and the FSUIPC5.LOG may or may not be here:
C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Modules\

Pete,

Couldn’t find your requests :

DLL.XML - no \AppData\

FSUIPC5.LOG - not there .

There certainly is an "AppData"! You have Windows Explorer set to hide files. Go to folder options and change that option!
