stopnicki Posted May 9, 2018 Report Posted May 9, 2018 Hello Pete and all: I have been unable to download the latest version of FSUIPC5.13, as I get an "An error occurred during download. Please try again" message. This has happened on two different computers. (Windows 7 Pro, in both) Any guidance is appreciated. Roberto
Pete Dowson Posted May 9, 2018 Report Posted May 9, 2018 I need to know which place you are having problems with — here in Download Links subforum, or over in the Schiratti site? Pete
stopnicki Posted May 9, 2018 Author Report Posted May 9, 2018 Here Pete. In the downloads link. Roberto
Pete Dowson Posted May 9, 2018 Report Posted May 9, 2018 It downloads fine here from there. Can you try the normal one, in www.Schiratti.com/Dowson.html?
stopnicki Posted May 9, 2018 Author Report Posted May 9, 2018 Hi Pete: Sorry for the delay (babysitting duties). I get the same message when trying to download from the Schiratti site (it says version 124 over there). Anybody else highlighting this? Roberto
stopnicki Posted May 9, 2018 Author Report Posted May 9, 2018 Pete: I just tried to download another add-on, just to see if something is blocking the download at this end, and it downloaded OK. Roberto

Well, I don't know what to advise. Sorry. It dowsnloads fine here. Are you sure it isn't a virus checker at your end objecting to it for some reason? After all, that's two different download sites -- and furthermore the two files are not by the same name. The one here is called "Install_FSUIPC513.zip" and the Schiratti one is just the usual "FSUIPC5.ZIP" (as it has to be to maintain links in many places)*. The fact that it occurs with two differently named files certainly implies it is something at your end disliking the content. Try temporarily disabling your virus checker. Pete * And Enrico hasn't yet updated the text there to say it is 5.13, but it certainly is as I've proven by downloading it and opening the ZIP.
Tom-D Posted May 9, 2018 Report Posted May 9, 2018 May I be the first to chime in from the USA. The new zip downloaded fine from this site. TD
stopnicki Posted May 9, 2018 Author Report Posted May 9, 2018 I finally managed to download and, as you suspected Pete, it was totally on my end. Allow me a few lines, to spare any grief for anybody else. I use Internet Download Manager (IDM) for all my downloads. I checked Google (what else?) and found an answer. The download address, is: "https://fsuipc.simflight.com/beta..... etc" All I had to do in the refused download, was to delete the first "s", so that the download page now read: "http://fsuipc.....etc" and IDM was happy Go figure!! All's well that ends well. Thanks Pete for the patience. And thanks Tom for chiming in. I am happy. Cheers Roberto

I also use IDM on my main PC, and I don't need to do that! And the "https" part is correct -- it just means that it is "secure" (needs a password or registration?). I use Chrome for my browser and IDM is an App added to it, so it operates as part of Chrome and therefore within its registrations. Anyway, I am glad you found a way to do it, albeit rather mystifying. Do you have a link to the Google place you found which explains this, as I'd like to know more? Thanks. Pete
stopnicki Posted May 13, 2018 Author Report Posted May 13, 2018 Hello Pete and all Just to properly close this thread, I just wanted to advise that, upon uninstalling the Microsoft Windows Updates which were automatically installed on May 7, 8 and 9, all issues disappeared, and IDM is working normally. I have told the IDM folks about this. And, of course, I have changed the Microsoft updates settings, so that I am always asked before one is installed. Cheers! And a Happy Mothers Day to all the moms in the forum and to those moms who are somehow associated with it!! Roberto
