Marty
MOVED FROM THE FAQ REFERENCE SUBFORUM to the SUPPORT Forum where it can be viewed and answered I recently purchased a flight sim 737 800ng which was using ProSim 737 v 1.45 Prepar3D v3.4 networked with 4 pc using fsuicp v4 and wide fs client and SIOC scripts on the slave pc. I’m currently wiring the overhead panels and MIP everything was operational until I stupidly decided that I would upgrade the software to prepar 3d v4.5 also upgrading fsuicp to v 5.1. Hey it’s important to update how hard can it be my reasoning was better to do it now before assigning all the switches and gauges. The good news is v4.5 installed and fsuicp v5 is working as an add on bad news is I’ve lost the throttle joystick assignments and on the slave pc where SIOC is running it is now unable to find fsuicp or the sim something is wrong just not sure what. There is a fsuicp v4 ini file in the old prepar 3.4 folder it has all the assignments in it. This post is not really about issues with the software but being very new trying to work out how it all fits together. The good news is it is all still there. It looks like I just need to get fsuicp module running in SIOC this is where I run into trouble I can’t find anything on the net to point me in the right direction looking for some help here if possible please don’t scold me if I have not explained myself correctly I’m just getting into this and need support from those who no better Does fsuicp v5 need to be installed on each pc? How do you get SIOC to see the new fsuicp version SIOC is running on another pc seperate from prepare 4.5 and the new install of fsuicp v5 Rambling on appreciate any guidence
Pete Dowson
55 minutes ago, Marty said: The good news is v4.5 installed and fsuicp v5 is working BTW I moved your post to this, the Support Forum, so it can be answered. The FAQ subforum is for long term reference material. By "working" do you mean the AddOns menu has FSUIPC listed, and that b clicking on it you get the options screen showing? If so, then that's fine. 55 minutes ago, Marty said: bad news is I’ve lost the throttle joystick assignments Did you use your FSUIPC4.INI file renamed as FSUIPC5.INI? If so, and you didn't re-install Windows as well, then the assignments will be the same. Does FSUIPC recognise the throttles in the Axis assignments tab? 55 minutes ago, Marty said: on the slave pc where SIOC is running it is now unable to find fsuicp or the sim something is wrong just not sure what. The Network settings in your Windows won't have been changed just by installing P3D4 and FSUIPC5. So what else have you changed? 55 minutes ago, Marty said: There is a fsuicp v4 ini file in the old prepar 3.4 folder it has all the assignments in it. Yes, and you can use that with FSUIPC5 just by copying it into the P3D4 Modules folder and renaming it FSUIPC5.INI. That way you retain all your settings. 55 minutes ago, Marty said: It looks like I just need to get fsuicp module running in SIOC I'm afraid I know nothing about SIOC. I thought ProSim had its own SIOC drivers. Where does FSUIPC or WideFS come in? 55 minutes ago, Marty said: Does fsuicp v5 need to be installed on each pc? No, it is a DLL, a module which runs only inside P3D4. It can't be used outside of P3D4 at all. WideFS client PCs just have WideClient.exe installed and configured to recognise the server (the P3D PC). But if that was all working with P3D3 and FSUIPC4 then it doesn't need changing. It stays as it was. 55 minutes ago, Marty said: How do you get SIOC to see the new fsuicp version SIOC is running on another pc seperate from prepare 4.5 and the new install of fsuicp v5 The version of FSUIPC doesn't matter. I'm afraid I don't know SIOC at all, or how it uses FSUIPC. You do really need either SIOC support or, probably more appropriately, ProSim support. But as I say, provided you've not changed the Client PC, and provided you've not reinstalled Windows or changed the Network, then it should all work as it did before. The version of P3D and FSUIPC is not relevant to this. Pete
Marty
Yes option screen showing when clicked on fully registered can go and create buttons re calibrate joystick all moments show up as rudders and yoke connected direct to pc sim is on Did you use your FSUIPC4.INI file renamed as FSUIPC5.INI? NO does this mean I just put the fsuicp4.ini file into the fsuicp5 module folder in p3dv4.5 folder and just rename it fsuicp5.ini and assignments will have returned If so, and you didn't re-install Windows as well, then the assignments will be the same. Does FSUIPC recognise the throttles in the Axis assignments tab? I’m not sure what u mean by this the throttles do not work but I thought they were connected to SIOC SIOC server is installed on slave pc where widefs is installed the fsuicp module in SIOC is now disabled I think this is because I deleted p3dv3.4 and it is no longer pointing at the sim as it is now 4.5 but I’m unsure as I understand widefs allows connection of the sim across the network no settings have been changed the only change is the sim Prepar3D v4.5 is in another folder ProSim is saying data base connected so assume it’s connected to the new sim version just to sum up The only thing I did is delete prepare 3dv3.4 install fsuicp v 5.xx then install v 4.5 after the install the aircraft 737800 was no longer listed I moved the ProSim 737 800 aircraft from old 3.4 folder to 4.5 folder it appeared in the list. After starting the sim controls yoke rudder throttle quadrant was not working. I fully restarted the sim the pedestal radios centre displays PFD display mcp cud etc all working just throttle quad I also noted the fsuicp module listed on the SIOC server was disabled I’m not sure how this works but I assume it has lost comms to new sim so control functions would be disabled. i will copy the fsuicpv4.ini folder into the 4.5 module folder and rename it as you said this may be the problem as nothing has been touched is there any other files I need to place there. I have checked the v4ini file it does contain all the assignments and names the client computers this may reconnect the sim on the network. I note you have a 7 pc sim. I would appreciate any advice you have as I start building this Cockpit I have full over head panel all the servo gauges switches etc the pedestal nav comms etc work just need wire some more switches on the MIP. EFIS,MCP,CDU,FMS,all operational .

Pete Dowson
38 minutes ago, Marty said: Does FSUIPC recognise the throttles in the Axis assignments tab? I’m not sure what u mean by this In order to assign any controls in FSUIPC, then FSUIPC must see them! You say they do not work, but maybe you haven't assigned them anywhere? If you didn't use your FSUIPC4.INI as I said you could, then you won't have ANY assignments in FSUIPC if you haven't used the Axis tab to assign them in FSUIPC Options, which, since you don't seem to know about it, you have not. (Please look in the FSUIPC documents subfolder in the Modules folder. there you will finf DOCUMENTATION. Please read through the relevant chapters of the User guide you'll find there. I shows it all with pictures too). 41 minutes ago, Marty said: the throttles do not work but I thought they were connected to SIOC Really? In that case I can be of no help as I know nothing about SIOC. You would need help elsewhere. 43 minutes ago, Marty said: I’m unsure as I understand widefs allows connection of the sim across the network no settings have been changed the only change is the sim Prepar3D v4.5 is in another folder WideFs talks to FSUIPC directly. It doesn't care which version of P3D it is nor which version of FSUIPC. Provided you entered your WideFS key when you installed FSUIPC, then, without any network changes, it will work as it did with P3D3. Perhaps you'd better clarify. Does WideClient, running on the client PC, show that it is waiting for something in the title bar when P3D is running? If not, what does it say? 45 minutes ago, Marty said: One other thing do I delete the other fsuicp5.ini file as inserting and renaming the other Well, yes, you have to delete it -- otherwise Windows won't let you rename the FSUIPC4 version to the same name. I'm afraid I'm away now for over two weeks. or more questions on FSUIPC5 + WideFS John or others can help here, but for SIOC and ProSim you'll probably need to go elsewhere. Try the ProSim support forum first. Pete
Marty
Thank you for your help enjoy your time away. My question is widefskey this was not used when I installed the new version. Did I need to do this with the new version Installation. If this is the case I will need to get a new key as the existing version is registered to the old owner. I will use what I’ve learned so far from you and see if things sort out I appreciate your patience
John Dowson
You can register WideFS with a different email address but I'm not sure about the name. Did you try re-running the installer to register WideFS with the details from your registration email? If not, please try that first. If this doesn't work, if you PM both your FSUIPC5 and WideFS registrations to me, I'll see if I can generate you a new key for WideFS with your FSUIPC5 details
Marty
I tried running the installer it says “same program or class already running (FS98MAIN) not sure what this means I have shut down all other PCs
John Dowson
Sorry, I don't understand. You get that message from running the 'Install FSUIPC5.exe' program? That is not possible. That is the error you get when you try and run WideClient on a PC where FSUIPC is already running (i.e. in P3D) or WideClient is already running. Marty
Aaaah my mistake I did say I’m a newbie. I apologise I got wires crossed. I placed the fsuicp4.ini file into the p3dv4.5 module folder and renamed it this went a long way I have the yoke rudder and throttles working again thank you. im rapidly learning about how your files work and how my sim operates. I purchased the sim operational so the locations and programmes are new to me. I was trying to install the wideclient.exe that was the message I got wrong file. What you said makes sense I will re run the fsuicp v5 installer again and try and register I’m happy to purchase another licence especially with all your help and support. I would happily pay you to connect to my pc’s and set up the darn thing. I’m fairly certain from what I have learned once this is done FSUICP will be recognised by SIOC as communication will commence across the network. i did find a simconnect file in the old p3dv3.4 programmes module folder I hope that is not needed as this file is not in the 4.5 module folder? John Dowson
2 minutes ago, Marty said: I’m happy to purchase another licence especially with all your help and support Its really not needed as you already have a license. I just checked and its fine to use distinct names and email addresses for FSUIPC and WideFS, you just need to run the installer twice, register FSUIPC the first time, and WideFS the second (do not choose the 'Both' option!). 16 minutes ago, Marty said: I would happily pay you to connect to my pc’s and set up the darn thing. Not an option, sorry. 17 minutes ago, Marty said: i did find a simconnect file in the old p3dv3.4 programmes module folder I hope that is not needed as this file is not in the 4.5 module folder? No, its not needed with FSUIPC5. It uses the SimConnect interface built into P3D.
Marty
I will do the re install fsuicp v5 tomorrow and see how it goes I’m assuming not having done it before I use same details and lic key as the first time just choose widefs registration this time. Joking about you connecting to my pc but you never no if u don’t put it out there. Let you no how it all goes

Marty
Widefs is registered on pc but it’s not my registration as purchased computer secondhand with this already installed so I don’t have a registration details for widefs or more point don’t no them. I’ll just purchase another licence it’s not much money then both will be set up ended my registration details. Sorry finding this very confusing I can’t read user guide it comes up with just numbers and symbols so a little blind.
Marty
Ok so I registered the widefs and now SIOC is seeing fsuicp and everything talking the only thing now is the controls in the sim are not functioning properly. I have checked the user manual and for some reason I can’t read it just a lot of characters. In the fsuicp.ini folder it says the is sim being used is Microsoft flight sim but I’m using prepar 3d v 4.5 I will try and screen shot some things see if this helps point to my problems. Marty
this the fsuicp5 config file the problem iam having is firstly the brakes dont come off the sim saying either differential brakes or just brakes. The right engine cut off lever on the throttle quad is changing views and also the trim switch on the yokes doing some thing. I have gone into the sim settings and removed all axis and key assignments to avoid a conflict. I have also tried to config some control setting in fsuicp like park brake but without a user manual i cant really work out what i should be doing. i re calibrated controls in windows. Not sure if controls should be calibrated in prepar or just fsuicp im guessing just oneor the other as they would conflict? any ideas on how i can read the user manual? That strange - are you using a text editor/viewer rather than a pdf viewer? Try opening it in your web browser (as that should have support for viewing pdfs). If you ares till having issues with this, I can post you another copy, but I doubt very much your files have been corrupted... 6 hours ago, Marty said: In the fsuicp.ini folder it says the is sim being used is Microsoft flight sim but I’m using prepar 3d v 4.5 I I guess you solved this as your FSUIPC5.ini has the following: 5 hours ago, Marty said: FSVersionUsed="Lockheed Martin® Prepar3D® v4",4.5.12.30293 5 hours ago, Marty said: i re calibrated controls in windows. Not sure if controls should be calibrated in prepar or just fsuicp im guessing just oneor the other as they would conflict? any ideas on how i can read the user manual? First, try and sort out your problem with the user manuals - you really need these! For axis assignments, you need to decide whether to assign in P3D or FSUIPC. If you assign in P3D, you can still calibrate in FSUIPC. But if you decide to assign in FSUIPC, it is better to disable controllers completely in P3D. Anyway, I see you are using ProSim which I believe has its own calibration system - probably best to wait for Pete to return and help you with this (as he is a ProSim user). Your FSUIPC ini file shows that your previously assigned devices are no longer used, due to the change in GUIDs. You therefore need to update your ini file to correct this. As you have two sets of yoke/pedals, I'm not sure which way around your assignments go, but as the assignments to each seem to be similar, it shouldn't matter too much. You do have one device missing - your throttle (G-Throttles) - is this not connected? Try replacing this section: [JoyNames] AutoAssignLetters=No T=G-Throttles << MISSING JOYSTICK >> T.GUID={048B2C90-D690-11E1-8001-444553540000} B=BU0836X Interface << MISSING JOYSTICK >> B.GUID={2A723950-D706-11E1-8001-444553540000} R=Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals << MISSING JOYSTICK >> R.GUID={7007B920-BD3B-11E1-8001-444553540000} S=Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals << MISSING JOYSTICK >> S.GUID={75984520-D704-11E1-8001-444553540000} Z=737YOKE-LE by ACE << MISSING JOYSTICK >> Z.GUID={5EA0F8E0-D70D-11E1-8001-444553540000} Y=737YOKE-LE by ACE << MISSING JOYSTICK >> Y.GUID={B7B896E0-D70D-11E1-8002-444553540000} 1=Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals 1.GUID={E98E5CA0-5C91-11E1-8006-444553540000} 2=737YOKE-LE by ACE 2.GUID={6368B4F0-476D-11E2-8001-444553540000} 3=737YOKE-LE by ACE 3.GUID={E98E5CA0-5C91-11E1-8009-444553540000} 4=Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals 4.GUID={E98E5CA0-5C91-11E1-8005-444553540000} 0=BU0836A Interface 0.GUID={8C6FD830-FE13-11E2-8001-444553540000} with the following [JoyNames] AutoAssignLetters=No T=G-Throttles << MISSING JOYSTICK >> T.GUID={048B2C90-D690-11E1-8001-444553540000} B=BU0836X Interface B.GUID={8C6FD830-FE13-11E2-8001-444553540000} R=Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals R.GUID={E98E5CA0-5C91-11E1-8006-444553540000} S=Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals S.GUID={E98E5CA0-5C91-11E1-8005-444553540000} Z=737YOKE-LE by ACE Z.GUID={6368B4F0-476D-11E2-8001-444553540000} Y=737YOKE-LE by ACE Y.GUID={E98E5CA0-5C91-11E1-8009-444553540000} 1=Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals 1.GUID={E98E5CA0-5C91-11E1-8006-444553540000} 2=737YOKE-LE by ACE 2.GUID={6368B4F0-476D-11E2-8001-444553540000} 3=737YOKE-LE by ACE 3.GUID={E98E5CA0-5C91-11E1-8009-444553540000} 4=Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals 4.GUID={E98E5CA0-5C91-11E1-8005-444553540000} 0=BU0836A Interface 0.GUID={8C6FD830-FE13-11E2-8001-444553540000} Let me know how you get on. Marty
I’ve got back the rudder and yoke but no throttle it is connected as it is registering in windows as input device game controller called Buo836a interface. I can calibrate throttles flaps and speed brake there. The fuel cut off levers are registering in fsuicp as buttons as well as park brake lever. flaps lever doesn’t work neither does speed brake. I don’t get it it was all working before I have copied the fsuicpini file with all the assignments like before but still nothing. I have turned off controllers in p3d to avoid conflict. The BUO836A (Bodnar card) is showing in list of contollers in p3dv4.5 something has changed I think with fsuicp as this is the interface. I checked all connections obviously connected as windows can see it. all the axis and button assignments are also gone why would this be If they are in the ini file. Marty
I’ve been reading the user guide yep got that working thanks. I looked at my other pc one had done an auto update turning on the windows firewall the BUO836A Interface card is connected via this pc I have turned off the firewall and reloaded all pc but still nothing wondering if my issues are to do with the GUID’S I don’t really understand but the update could have changed the is numbers
Marty
I changed the auto assign letters in the fsuicp5ini file to YES and reload the buttons in fsuicp. I now have the BUO836A interface back but still missing the throttles I will post the file.

Ok, if the throttle is distinct from the BUO836A interface ignore my last comment. So just the throttle not being seen now? Can you post your log and joyscan.csv files. Marty
I noticed there are 2 Buo86 interface cards in the .ini file there is only one card I see it listed twice in the file an X and an A with different guid numbers. Is this important? The throttle quad is connected by USB to main flight sim pc. There are wires connected to the Buo836a interface card but I believe this is the parkbrake so the LED light goes off and on with the brake. The fuel cut of levers, park brake lever, all register as buttons in FSUICPV5 The throttle levers, flaps lever and speed brake do not register at all in FSUICPV5. I have attached a picture to help understand what I have it may help. I believe the throttles flaps and speed brake are not connected to the card but USB direct to flight sim machine. I will do as u ask tomorrow
