Axis freeze

Dear Peter,

I am running FSX with FSUIPC 4.9.7.2. I am experiencing the following: When I start a saved flight with the PMDG 744 QOTSII, as soon as I move the throttles, the aileron moves to a full right deflection and freezes. If I then load another plane, everything is normal. I have deactivated the FSX axis and am only using FSUIPC.

Can you help?

Please update to the current release (4.974). We cannot really support older versions.

FSUIPC won't be doing anything different for ailerons for each aircraft, excepting via different profiles for each. is that what you have? if so, maybe you haven't calibrated the ailerons correctly in FSUIPC for your PMDG 747 profile?

Thanks for your quick reply. You are right, this happens with any aircraft. I am using two joysticks, one of them has been converted into a throttle quadrant. The problem happens when I move the throttle quadrant. It has never happend before. I have deactivated the controllers in FSX, so it should all be FSUIPC. I have even deleted the axis from the FSX controller menu. And in FSUPIC, the joysticks are of course assigned to different axis each.

You have something wrong. Show me you FSUIPC4.INI and i will then be able to check the assignments.

Check also in FSx that you haave disabled all controllers. i seem to remember they are individually selectable.

It does certainly sound like a double assignment to the aileron, from your second "throttle" joystick.

I have checked in FSX. The controllers are switched off, and I even deleted all axis in the controllers. This is my FSUIPC.

Hi,

first thing. Pete asked to update to latest FSUIPC4.974, looks like you didn't, UpdatedByVersion=4972 ? Best is to use latest and also only latest version is supported.

Your INI showsthat the general joystick use is for both connected joysticks the same, X and Y axis. But in profiles it is different and sometimes the X axis is assigned to Throttle or as well the Z axis (Bodnar card)

Also remember when using Bodnar cards for axis that the last connected axis poti will activate any previous port. so i.e. if you have only 3 axes to connect then you use the first three analog ports of the card only.

Also you should use

[JoyNames]
AutoAssignLetters=Yes

Seems you need to clean up the profiles a bit and general definition for the existing controller, 1= Logitech and 2=Bodnar

I assume these are your two Joysticks?  Which is your "throttle". Looking through your settings, you have a mess, with a non-existent device 0 still assigned. I think it will be easier for you to start afresh. Delete the INI file and re-assign, but USE JOY LETTERS first, as noted by Thomas. When you have multiple controllers this allows FSUIPC to keep track of them properly.
