Hello, just purchased my fsuipc6 to use for now on my p3dv4.5 hotfix 3, I do the installation, added the name, email and code all good but in the sim keeps showing the free version, only 2 tabs, the registration click is not available, I go out of the sim re-run the installer and same thing, over and over, any ideas please? never had issues with fsuipc5 before, thanks for any help!

You register in the installer. After installation, there should be a screen for your registration details. You have to enter your details here and click the 'Register' button. You should then get a pop-up telling you if the registration was successful or not. If successful, a key file will be generated.

Did you try this? What happens when you click the 'Register' button?

It will just submit and then I click finish

Sorry, I don't understand. Could you answer my questions - what happens when you click the 'Register' button? Do you get a pop-up, and if so, what does it say? Are you just registering FSUIPC6, or also WideFS?

What does this mean?

If you require help, can you PLEASE just answer my questions: what happens when you click the 'Register' button? Do you get a pop-up, and if so, what does it say? Are you just registering FSUIPC6, or also WideFS?

Hi Pete,

I’m having the same issue this gentlemen is having.  I purchased via SimMarket (discounted as a long-time FSUIPC customer/user).  I entered all the registration details as required in the installation process.  When I go into P3Dv5 and open FSUIPC6 via the ADD ONS tab, I only see two tabs.  It says I’m using an unregistered version of FSUIPC6.  There IS a pop-up telling me to uninstall FSUIPC6 via the installer and reinstall, entering the registration details EXACTLY as they appear in the order details email (via cut and paste).  I’ve done this twice with the same result.  Your help will be greatly appreciated.

PS...please excuse the CONTACT US email I sent.  I didn’t realize that I wasn’t a registered forum user.  I am now.

Hi,

after entering the registration info you need to press the Register button first. That will give a popup window and informs Registration successful or failed. Only after closing tht popup you go with the next button.

Not pressing the Register button first will then not create the Key file!

Did that.  Followed instructions to the letter three times.  Same result every time.

I found my problem and corrected it.  I was attempting to install FSUIPC6 as an Add-On.xml vs FSUIPC6.dll.  When the Add-On.xml option is unchecked, the FSUIPC6.dll option is checked BUT grayed out.  The wording explaining the option selection is a bit unclear but makes sense once you do it.  Everything appears to be installed, properly registered and working fine.

Sorry for the confusion but validly confused.  Thanks for the help.

Hi,

after selection which way you want to install, "add-on.xml" or the old way, the next window show the path that is automatically selected but you can change that to your needs. If you had previous FSUIPC5 installed and you didn't select "add-on.xml" the FSUIPC6.dll will most likely be in P3D4 \Modules\ folder.

If "add-on.xml" method was selected it can be in C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\FSUIPC\ folder or in C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Prepar3D v5 Add-ons\FSUIPC\ folder.

When FSUIPC is installed you can as well go to Logging tab in FSUIPC and press the "Open Folder" button, that opens Explorer with the folder where FSUIPC DLL is located.

The dll option is always checked and grayed out, i.e. it is ALWAYS selected for install (checked) and you cannot uncheck it so that it isn't installed (grayed out).

This brings up another question.  Will unchecking Add-On.xml in the installation process affect FSUIPC6 working with my add-ons, i.e. PMDG?  I’m awaiting PMDG’s updating of their product line to P3Sv5 so I have yet to try it with those products.

No. Un-checking the Add-on.xml entry just means that FSUIPC6 will be installed using the old DLL.xml method instead. It will work just the same. It is just offering a choice as to which install method to use.
