  1. As stated to myself before, provide the output log, but for me, using the Steam version, there are definitely changes,

especially [The DBRITE screen now shows the correct Runway Orientation angle], which is hard to miss.

So, I am presuming you are not using the Steam version.

  2. TIL that two different airlines can have the same IATA code.

"After an airline is delisted, IATA can make the code available for reuse after six months and can issue "controlled duplicates". Controlled duplicates are issued to regional airlines whose destinations are not likely to overlap, so that the same code is shared by two airlines. The controlled duplicate is denoted here with an asterisk (*) following the code and in IATA literature as well."

That's because there are 2 OY in the Airlines file by the look of it.

ANS, OY, AEROANDES, Andes Lineas Aereas, Argentina (ceased operations and then started up again!) and

OAE, OY, OMNI EXPRESS, Omni Air International, United States

If you delete the Aeroandes line it will spawn correctly

... well.. according to Wikipedia.. they both have IATA -code OY... that seems weird ..  to IATA.ORG

IATA search OY  according to this Omni Air has an asterisk... what does that mean?

To be frank, 22R is only used for arrivals by prop aircraft, and then, only rarely. Operating in that direction, jets would use either 26L or 26R.

Yeah... thought so, haven't seen them operating from east to west yet...

Still.. wouldn't they be using 22L.. and if the plane takes right F.. well.. I guess we can send them over 4L to D.. just wondering if the F-loop above 4L is connected... more testing coming in

    TESTED:

..well..landing at 22L exit a F... HAL19 cannot even go on that loop... both Taxi to terminal  and taxi to Terminal by F D A let's it turn right onto 4L towards D

  5. Don't actually know if this is only this airport, have never encountered it before.

CWP645 is clearer to land 8L  // CWP 645 is told to exit at G //  HAL272 is waiting at 8L@H with command Line up and wait BEHIND next landing aircraft

because CWP 645 is a slow AT4 it actually stops landing halfway RB and H  // HAL272 Lines up and waits...BEFORE CWP 645 actually reaches H

(Giving CWP 645 a stop command and letting HAL272 take of after that gives me a penalty)

  7. Quik Review:

I like it, potential to be a favourite due to cargo and small props, saying that,  some quick things I noticed

717's can get squeezy if they encounter each other on L and G above LG.. they stop.. but a CONT-Taxi helps.

Planes landing on 4L with a gate at the C-taxiway can only use A as exit? so.. a small Cessna has to use the whole runway // D and E exits are not working?

Real Traffic is not that busy.. about 30 planes max/hour, definately needs a custom schedule (hard to get now), I think 80-100 planes/hour is easily feasible here. 30 makes it a little bit boring

I studied HNL last few days, 717's tend to take of mostly from 8L@L, just as props coming from north side. Non-Heavies use 8L from A or V , Heavies and South side jets use 8R, props from southside use 4L/4R.. incoming planes use 8L or 4R haven't seen aproaches from the west jet

Sometimes heavy cargo will go right at the end of 4L

..yes i know, but i don't have an output log atm, these are just some things I noticed

How is this more real life?

    (1) Until you issue a taxi command you don't know the plane's actual gate or if it is occupied. This is far from realistic and a must fix in the next version.

    (2) Where does this "blocking the gate" feedback come from? Have we now introduced a virtual supervisor/assistant because it is definitely not coming from the pilot?

    (C) Sure you can move the plane and hold it somewhere but you won't "wait a while" - you'll never be able to get it to the gate and end up getting penalty points every 15 minutes. Because if it's all about being realistic - deleting the plane is not an option. Sadly sitting on the "tarmac" for hours makes the news and is not necessarily uncommon, but I'm sure this is not a feature the developers wish to introduce.

I think I should have added more smileys... that was not a serious remark form me

  9. To add to this problem and some more...

    first the logfile output_log

(not in this play, there seems to be a holdline on taxiway M, if you go left from M9)

Here is SAS2636 at the top of N5 being all stuck.

    sas2639.thumb.png.2eb919fd10765167da5159941fb65c57.png

And here is UAL932 with an interesting message, especially because there are no active planes on his gates...

    UAL932.thumb.png.e54153d24f067958a94fff95930e14ae.png

Here we have the only spinning gate I have found sofar, CLH372 calculates the route from its neighbor gate, and then start spinning for a while till it finds the taxiway

    CLH372.thumb.png.8b8c1163155ae99718694cbfe132f677.png

but.., both CLH372 and UAL932 are both on the move... later. the lower gate at N5 became available.... DLH52 was kindle enough to depart and UAL could finally move there... (I have an image..but well..upload limit)

Edit: nope. After looking a bit further, it looks like they are added in the order they are loaded from the airport xml file ie. node order. So essentially random, the order could change everytime the airport is modified.

They don't seem to be random. and it is indeed not determined by the order they are in the terminal-file, that would be to easy  🙂 As far as I can tell, it is preprogrammed what the order is.

  11. This turning into a nice little discussion  🙂

More testing.. and what I have learned from LFPG-schedule (adr-lfpg)

What I see from LFPG is that arriving planes look for a Terminal they are assigned to, and in that Terminal first go to the gate which is their size-gate with the lowest number. After that they just fill up bigger gates. (this has the strange quirk, that if a heavy plane is assigned to a Terminal with heavy gates, and all those are taken, it won't spawn, but if a heavy plane is assigned to a gate w/o Heavy Gates, it will randomly spawn on a heavy gate somewhere...probably based on terminal-Priority)

    What I just did is run the following schedule on EGKK;

    SZG,LGW,320,BA,2657,17:01,12:00,1,BA
    LGW,JER,319,BA,2774,12:00,17:00,1,BA

(you need a departing plane to start the schedule)

AFAIK, all the gates on gatwick can handle a Airbus 320. So I used this, and made sure all Terminals in the Terminal File had BAW added..or actaully, only BAW.

I started  a session, took note where the arriving plane was going, and then removed BAW from that terminal, rince and repeat. That way I got a Terminal Priority for arriving Planes on Gatwick... for those who want to know:

    S3>N4E>N4W>N5S>N5N>N6>S2N>S2S>S1>NWN>SWS>CARGO>NORTH>PW>PE>GA>N6SP

I already knew there was a priority somehow from LFPG, see my remark from the above schedule post ((I would have loved that 1remoteS would have been after the rest of Terminal 1, so I could use it as overflow, same for padH, would loved to have used that as overflow for padQ. But it seems the game has another priority.))

From all this I am inclined to draw a conclusion:

Using Gatwick as an Example, an arriving plane will check if it is assigned to Terminal_S3, if not, it will check Terminal_N4E (see list above), this will continue until it finds a Terminal it is assigned to. It will then check if there is a gate available for that plane-type, and then assign it to the lowest numbered gate. If no gate is available, it will check the next Terminal continuing till it finds a Terminal with a gate available where it is assigned to.

So.... for Heathrow / EGLL, my request is that in the list Terminal 5 has a higher priority as Terminal 3, for the before mentioned reason that if it is the other way around, BAW will just fill up T3 and pushing non-BAW flights out of the schedule

aaargh.. and I was just happily playing KPHX before doing this stuff 😛

  12. 22 minutes ago, hexzed said:

Unfortunately there is no way in the current engine to allow for prioritising flights to a particular terminal. The only way around it, is to not assign BAW to terminal 3

I may be mistaken, but isn't T1 a lower priority as the rest in Gatwick? I was not talking about doing it playerside, but about programmer-side

Edit 5 min later: I just tested it quickly, seems Terminal 3 (S3) has a higher priority as T1 and the T2's in Gatwick

Also in the comments section of that video (the first one), FeelThere confirmed that EGLL is in the works.

    Andrew

    In that case:

Request for terminal Priority in EGLL; make Terminal 5 a higher priority to go to for incoming flights as Terminal 3. Both are used by BA, but T5 is only used by BA, while T3 is used by more airlines. If T3 has a higher priority, it would just fill up with BA-flights, thus taking up the spots for non-BA flights.
