  1. You can't make a clean uninstall of SimConnect on Vista or later. At least I never found a way. With Windows XP you can, but it takes a lot of editing in the Registry as well as fiddling in the protected Windows folders. The only way I ever managed a fully clear uninstall so I could reinstall a good version was to reformat and reinstall Windows first. Sorry, I can't deduce anything from those. I've no idea how your contact deduces SimConnect is responsible. Certainly merely installing Acceleration after SP1 and SP2 shouldn't cause any problems, it didn't do for me and being on the FSX Beta team I actually installed Beta1, Beta2, Beta3, RTM, SP1, SP2, Beta Acceleration then Acceleration, all without uninstalling in between, and all without mishap. I only managed to mess things up when I was deliberately trying to find an automatic (programmed) way to fix SimConnect problems caused by folks trying to uninstall and reinstall FSX (which seemed to be the biggest cause of these). In the process I messed my own system up and eventually had to reinstall everything, from Windows on up! Regards Pete
  2. Oh dear., really? Do you know about the menu bar in FS, at the top of the screen, the one where you can load and save flights etc etc? If not please refer to FS documentation for help. Really before using FSUIPC I would expect folks to have used FS a bit. Now: "Is the FSUIPC entry present in the Modules menu entry?" merely means to look at the menu bar (once you've worked out what that is). Then find the entry labelled "Modules" (usually the right-most one) and click on it. Check for an entry in the dropped down part called FSUIPC." Tell me if the Modules entry is there and then if the FSUIPC entry is in it. If it is we can carry on. Otherwise there are different steps to take. I'm away now till Monday, sorry. It might take quite a few more days in any case with simplified single steps. Regards Pete
  3. Hmm. No idea. Works fine for me and most others as far as I know. It isn't my forum software of course, all the SimMarket forums use the same software, and I think it is pretty much the same at AVSIM and most others. All of them, this included, offer normal editing facilities, with Enter indeed starting a new line, 100% consistently. I can only think there's something odd set in your personal options for SimMarket forums? Regards Pete
  4. Hmmm. When you say "I have to enter FSUIPC and use the scan function on axis ass", what does it show? Do you have to scan all of them? Have you tried merely opening the options and closing them again. This makes FSUIPC repeat the initial scan, just the same as it does when it first loads up. Once they work, do they continue working for the entire session? If yes to both of those questions, then it sounds like for some reason your Pokeys things are not really ready when FS is first started, so they appear disconnected in the initial scan. I really cannot understand why -- maybe Pokeys support could advise? I've really not heard of any such behaviour before. FSUIPC just uses standard Windows facilities for these things, nothing special or different. Regards Pete
  5. Recognised where? In the axis assignments? In calibration? In FS? In a specific aircraft, or all? At the assignments stage therer is obviously not difference. In the calibration tab, axes sent DIRECT to calibration have to be recognised there -- it is more likely that those sent as normal controls to Fs could get intercepted by another add-on. If you mean in FS itself, then do you mean all aircraft, or only specific ones? And when do the axes appear to disconnect? How long does it take? I remember you said your speedbrake, connected in the same way (and assigned in the same way) was okay. But in FSUIPC all axes are treated alike, so are you sure it isn't more related to the aircraft you are using? Regards Pete
  6. A bad registration is treated as a pirated use of FSUIPC and causes deliberate bad data. If you remove the FSUIPC KEY file from the Modules folder then it will appear okay, unregistered, and the data will be good, but then you cannot use the User Facilities. The application interface continues to work without registration. Pete
  7. Yes, I would be very concerned. It happens because the timeout for a stalled connection is longer at the server than on the client. So the client sees no data from the server for many seconds and tries to reconnect, the server clocks up the new connection but doesn't discard the old one for a while longer. Look at the logs, Wideclient and WideServer. Maybe it is only one of the clients and not one you've bothered about for some reason? Regards Pete
  8. I only needed the run time log (FSUIPC.LOG). There's the problem. Your computer's date is 3rd January 2002, before FSUIPC3 was ever made and certainly before you purchased your registration, so it looks invalid. Regards Pete
  9. The log is a short text file. Just paste its contents into a message here. Pete
  10. Sorry, what do mean mean by changing lines with 'enter'? Enter just starts a new line as in any editor. When you type a message you are using an editor like Notepad (or Wordpad, considering there are font/size/colour/emphasis options). Pete
  11. You've not bothered to look at any of the documentation, then? The user guide clearly explains what you get for registration and what you get free. The interface to application programs has always been free. The purchase of a registration gives you access to all the user facilities. That shows things being okay, except that at some point it should log "Advanced Weather Interface Enabled". That's an indication that the initialisation is completed. It looks like your system is never finishing initialisation. I've not seen anything like that before with FSUIPC3. I'm not sure how to work out what is happening at present. Could you try with just the default flight -- don't change anything on the initial screen. Is FS starting in Paused or Slew mode at all? Is the FSUIPC entry present in the Modules menu entry? If so, please go to Logging, right-hand side, enter 11D4 for the offset in one of the lines, type U32. then select the normal Log option below and press OK. Show me the log from that. Regards Pete
  12. Ah, registry problems. Glad you sorted it out. Pete
  13. Good. Thanks for letting us know. Pete
  14. Sounds like either some other software is corrupting this, or your registration is bad. FSUIPC doesn't support force feedback. You'd need to assign in FS for that. FSUIPC always makes a log file, and it is in the Modules folder right next to FSUIPC itself. close FS down first. Paste the complete log fine into a message here. Sorry but I've no idea what all that means. What's a "portal" (a door? Which and why?), and what do you mean by a keyboard button not working? You aren't making sense I'm afraid. Pete
  15. Why did you pay for it? You provide no information of any use I'm afraid. What version are you talking about? Which version of FS even? Show me the log file (close FS down first). (BTW I've not heard of DNTDisplay -- does it even use FSUIPC?). Pete
  16. You posted a support question to the FAQ subforum, which is a repository for Answers to frequesnt questions. I moved it to the Support Forum for you. Wow! You have one too? I understood they only made 5 of these wonderful beasts! They wanted to buy mine back off me at one time! ;-) Sorry, I don't use the Aerosoft driver, i wrote my own. If they no longer support the device I doubt you can get their original software now. Sorry, i'm confused now. If you have the software what was the previous question about? You might have to install it in FS9 then copy it over. Sorry, I don't really know. I could send you a copy of my own driver, but you'd need to install and register FSUIP4 first. And there's no documentation and no support -- you'd be fending for yourself. All I could do is provide the module and my own INI/parameter fiel for it. Regards Pete
  17. I don't remember either, I have to look things up in the manuals these days, just as you really could (?). The advanced users guide page 7 seems to show it quite clearly: TCASid=Flight. It also says you can lock these by using FixedTCASoptions=Yes. Pete
  18. By "W" and "Z" I take it you are talking about FSUIPC3.999? You don't bother to say. FSUIPC never writes "2 to 3364. It is either FF or 00. The 0840 "crashed" flag is set by FS, not by FSUIPC. What do you mean by "there is problem with Enter in this portal"? Show me a log file -- close FS down first. Pete
  19. I already followed the links you provided, there was no need to post it here. And it listed many more modules than FSUIPC4 -- that only appears first because it is loaded last. You'll have to proceed by a process of elimination. Remove ALL add-ons and add them one by one, testing in between. for example you have two A2A modules running as well. You either have some very unusual conflict going on (unusual because you are the only one reporting it, or at least the only one coming here with it), or you have a corrupted installation or a bad driver. Other possibilities include failing memory chips, overheating and other hardware problems. It's a very complex problem to solve and I'm sorry but if I had it I'd start by eliminating as much as possible, then reinstalling things. At worse i've had to reformat disks and reinstall Windows (which actually can be a good thing in the long run, resulting in a much cleaner system). BTW I'm not capable of analysing DMP files either, not since about Windows 98. Sorry. Pete
  20. Seems you are referring to an older version of the manual? Currently it is on page 48. And use the improved Method, method 2, which is in fact as I already advised. The older method is only there for compatibility with earlier versions. Pete
  21. Just try running the Install again, first. Seems with P3D some folks say it takes two tries. No idea why. Pete
  22. What version of FSUIPC? If not at least 4.86 you need to update. And I'd need to see the Install log in any case. Regards Pete
  23. Very unlikely considering FSUIPC is in use on thousands of users systems without problems. It is extremely heavily tested in all sorts of conditions, and in almost constant use on my own systems. You don't even say you are using an up-to-date and supported version. Regards Pete
  24. Oh, THAT was what you meant! Sorry, I thought you were talking about it not knowing hpw tp say the correct call signs for added airlines. The option is also changeable in the FSUIPC options, miscellanous tab, if you are using a Registered FSUIPC. Oytherwise, yes, only in the INI. Pete
  25. I don't think you were unclear. No, because the mouse buttons aren't assigned to something (eg a control) which is repeatedly sent, like buttons. The mouse button being pressed is merely detected by whatever is under the mouse pointer. Any repeats or delays are to do with the underlying code there, nothing to do with the mouse action itself. Regards Pete
