  1. The only time I have encountered a similar problem it turned out that my joystick had 'had it'. Intermittent problems arre always the hardest to analyse, but usually they are either a conflict in different softwares/drivers or just plain ol' hawrdare crap-out.

Since you are not using gameport stuff, have XP (I believe?), do not have any other strange devices hooked up as well (?) and it allworked fine until some time ago, I'd try to get (BORROW) another stick to TEST and see if the problem is still there.

  2. The 'post your report' has gone a bit awry in some cases, so I'll have to pcik my way through these forums to find who's been participating... all those are eligible for the prize draw that will be executed by Fritz' cousin Drew...... in due time... meaning: as soon as we've found him again. Last time we saw him he was ushered in the Sheriff's 'cruzer' and they disappeared in southerly direction. I'll send somebody to Shelton to see if we can bail him out (as I am sure that THAT is wwhat is required if we ever want to see him again).

Prize draw should be next week..... and there can of course be NO discussion about the results.

Not with the Organizers, that is, as I am sure that there will be LOTS of discussin' as usual in this motley group of private aviators....

  3. You , I posted a similar screenshot with a nice story.... and then my wife called for something or other (usually 'other') and when I came back I thought I had hit Enter... which obviously I hadn't .... LOL !!

Anyway, I noticed this smuggler's ship running aground near Eastsound Airport... the resort you see in the beackground, just past the marina at the end of runway 18, is called Smuggler's Village Resort.. so there you have it !!!

Bill..... perhaps you could make the captain of that vessel turn his rudder just a tad more to the left and steer him clear of the Orcas???

The fun thing is that I first complimented Richard with the moving ship but filed an error report for it to hit the shores !! That was before I realized it must have been the same 'speed boat' I saw leaving WABY the night before and put there by Bill !!! ROFL !!!

  4. Looking forward to it Bill !!

Oh, I tild my daughter about you and where you are, and told her a bit about our EFC and other 'virtual ventures' in the area..... She doesn;t have a clue what I am on about of course.. silly dad with his silly 'games' !!

But then she tells me about one of her best friends who is on a 6 months study visit in the US.... so I ask where... she says Bellingham !

It was so funny to point her to Bellingham on my 'sattelite view' on FS and showing her the coast in the distance from Orcas !!

    I love FS for that too !!! :) :)

  5. Oh alright, alright.... I'll post a 'teaser' shot then to show you what I am working on...

But I have to STRESS that I am the worst designer, so I have not progressed beyond the first stage yet in gmax...meaning I have the 'basis' for the object.

It actually looks a lot like a square bit of wireframe.... ummm.. not really exciting.. or even promising.. yet

BUT... the design is superb as you will see .. it is a picture I got from my good friend Allan over at BFU a few years ago.... I think EVERY airfield shood have one.. or even two.. of these 8)

  6. "Hey, guess what honey, I'm taking you to Hawaii on Valentine's day !!"

GASP! "ohhhh darling, what a surprise, you shouldn't have done that"

"I know, I know, but I did anyway...."

Hugs and kisses.... more kisses.... wife runs off to study her wardrobe....

I have studied mine long time of course... 1 swimming slip..... 5 bath towels to hide the extra belly fat..... ummm

She comes running back... "when do we leave dear !!??"

After some hesitation I say "well, you see, actually this is Maddy's idea... you know, the German lad from simFlight.... ummm..."

"What, is he comming too !!?? And his wife too !? So nice !!"

"Yes and no... you see.. actually.. it is more like a 'virtual' trip.... with our simulator. We thought it wo...... SLAP ! KABOOM !

......static noise over the loudspeaker after a heavy sort of 'thud' sound.....

  7. I've done it manually, because I always do...... thick headed so-and-so that I am ....

I am assuming you have LAGO's FSE installed, right? Otherwise it will not really work

The way I did is as follows:

    1) Unzip the zip file into a temporary folder... lets call it 'Install Folder'. Make sure you have your 'keep folder structure' switch ON when unzipping.

    2) You should now have the foloowing structure INSIDE your temporary install folder:

    Socia Island

    - FS9

    - Addon scenery

    scenery

    - Socia Island

    scenery

    textures

    - Lago

    - common

    sounds

    tracks

    Data

    3) The Addon folder and the Lago folders should be already in your FS9 Folder too (wherever that is and whatever you've called it)

    4) Move the entire Socia Island folder WITH its scenery and texture to the folder where you usually install your sceneries (mine is outside FS9, but that's up to you). Leave it there for now

    5) Move the contents of FSAddon - scenery to the same folder inside your FS9 (these are TWO AFCAD files)

    6) Move the sounds from the Lago - common - sounds folder to the respective folder in FS9 (some 29 files)

    7) Do the same with the Lago -common - tracks -->> move to the FS9 Lago - common - tracks (3 files of moving FSE objects)

    8) Move the 6 files fro Lago-Data into your FS9 - Lago - Data folder

    9) Start FS, go to Settings, Library and perform an 'Add Area '. Select the folder Sucia Island (wherever you put it).

    10) Stop and restart FS9 ---- Go To WABY......

    Best regards,

    Francois

  8. Welcome Elky..... and you'd be surprised how many people here are fluent i French, Latin (hmmm... maybe not then...) and a bunch of other languages. I think ol' Bushsimmer speaks 20 Indian dialects at least... and Bills speaks Canadian !!! :P

I think your mesh is the problem most likely..... either that or Bill needs to find some high ground and start all over again

Thanks for getting the thread back on course ! :D

  9. All this talk about fast boats, aircraft US and Canada made me think of a few pictures I still keep on my gard disk somewhere... don't ask me why I saved them..... 8)

Anyhoot, I thought you might enjoy them..... as to not start a new civil war I have included one 'about' Canada AND one for America....

Okay..... wait a minute before scrolling any further......

    ....

    ..

    ..

    ...

    because..

    ..

    ...

    .....

    ...I need to get some.....

    ..

    ... space between us...

I'd better go and find out where Simon is hiding..... 8)

The first picture came to mind when we started about fast container ships, peddling, rowing and other assorted water sports.....

So here's the Canadian Coast Guard !!!

And the second one is an 'equalizer'...... US Air Force...... sheeez, I hope I got that one right..... better not be a Navy aviator eh ?
