  1. You guys are too much... LOL !!! Hey WillyB, that is mighty kind of you my friend ! I have no idea if they are planning to head out West or not.. I don't even know 'how many' (    ) there will be.. These kids change ideas quicker than I change ...ummmm.. nver mind that... 8)

  2. Nope, that's not how it works. LAGO, Aerosoft, myself... we work with freelance authors that make things 'on request' or just offer themselves. Almost all insist on keeping the copyrights.

Maurizio is self-employed and made some brilliant interfaces to FS...... and owns most of them. On the Active Scenery or whatever is called (the stuff specifically for Emma) he has an agreement with LAGO that does not allow him to 'market' it to other companies.... unfortunately. I know, I tried :)

  3. That's a good point Matt and actually what laid the foundation for FSAddon.com was that exact thought. We want to make products that are easy to install and 'complete' as much as possible. Too often do I see help cries from people that do not have a clue about all this 'tinkering' getting all bits and pieces working together.

Well, we will be trying to do that...... time will learn whether or not we succeed of course

  4. You might be right.... that's why I am working on building alternatives already. And although these will also be commercial, I do have another interest in marketing it.... it is my hobby

The thing I am wrestling it (apart from technical issues) is that I do not want to loose this club by building a replacement or starting a new one, but at the same time we need something that is 'alive' again. The community is alive, but the scenery we use is beyond control.... and that is what I don't like about the current situation.

Now, building something like Emma is not a trivial job, so it will take time.... but it will happen. Once it does we DO need a formula to keep it alive (better) in next FS versions. These will happen, we have no control (nor doubt) about it.

Actually, it is quite amazing as it is.... Emma Field Flying Club now has over 600 registered members (allthough many passed on or are dormant in a way) without the promised support and activities from LAGO.

Thanks for the thoughts Don.... and yes.. we will see in 18 months what has become of us.... :D

  5. LOL... I know them shop assistants... I sometimes go to such shops just to listen in on the sales talks and have a laugh.... poor customers !!

The answer is YES, you can link a second monitor to a second (PCI) card and it is real easy to do with Windows XP (even with older versions).

    - Pop in the second card and load the latest drivers for it.

    - Go to Control Panel--> Display --> you should see 'Display Properties'window'

    - Click on the Settings tab

    - You should now see TWO monitors displayed, numbered 1 and 2

    - You can drag them to any place in the window....swapping 1 and 2.... I think the maximum is 9 monitors and you would all see them here.

    - Underneath are tick boxes. Click on your second monitor (mine is to the left, the primary one in front of me). Then 'tick' the box saying 'Extend my windows deskto onto this monitor

You're done ! And will now see a second screen, your mouse pointer will continue onto that screen and you can drag any window from the first onto the second.. even only partially.

    - Click on 'Advanced' to get a screen where you can change quality, resolution, etc. This depends on your graphics card of course (NVidia or ATI system). Here you can usually also decide HOW you want to use your monitors.

The way I described it (and use them) is to extend my desktop onto the second one. This leaves my FS2004 for instance on monitor 1 (windowed or full screen) and allows me to have other windows dragged on the second monitor.

You could also EXTEND your primary image over two monitors and get 1 very wide image distributed over the 2 screens... not as practical.

Hope this helps... and say 'hi' from me to the shop assistant... 8)

  6. Welcome Jeff..... as Don said, I am usually too busy to hand out the numbers...... no, no test, just patience....

And answering these here forums takes time away from answering emails...... so.. ummmmm... oh well

Have fun at Emma and dial in often!!

    Fritzois

  7. Maurizio was the one that made it and holds the copyrights...... no doubt others can read it.. if they had the source. Remember, there are no people working salaried in most of these companies (or very very few if any)... it is all freelance stuff and the authors hold the copyrights, and have other projects too usually.....

  8. Georender is owned by Richard Goldstein... it is his private 'hallmark' so to speak. (hence the 'by Georender').

The publishing rights of scenery package series GeoRender 1 to 6 are with LAGO, but Richard holds the copyrights of the (scenery) software.

Since we don't want too much confusion, we are publishing his next range of creations within the FSAddon New World Series..... this series can also contain similar scenery (well... difficult of course ) from other authors working for us.

Our first title will be called 'Orcas Island by Georender' therefore. :D

  9. Picked this up there (yes, I too visit there every day and have noticed all the threads): http://forum.videogame.it/noncgi/ultima5;t=003889

Unfortunately still no news..... not holding my breath either.

Correction, there IS some news.. I picked it up from another thread on LAGO, featuring our Bushsimmer......

"....................Emma delayed because the FSE fixing. Both projects are going on.

    with friendly greetings

    ..................................................."

    Now, I didn't say GOOD news did I !?
