  1. Sorry for posting here Pete but I'm out of ideas and so are others. I have no problems displaying saved FS9 flight plans in the pmRJ nav display. I have not been able to display saved FSX flight plans in the pmRJ nav display. I removed sharing from FS9 "Flight Simulator Files". Selected "Flight Simulator X Files" and enabled "Shasre THis Folder On The Network" and "Allow Network Users To Change My Files" ( both boxes have a check mark). I called the sharing folder FSPLANS. I start FSX and load a saved FSX flight plan. Let FSX stabalize. Start WideClient and pmRJ. Change the range of the nav display but do not see a flight plan track. I checked everything using PMCheckFile. Everything reports ok, except for a FSUIPC/WideFS mismatch. I'm loading the last saved FSX flight plan or creating a new one. Either way nothing. I was asked to ensure that My Documents Folder was not marked as Private. I did not understand this since you can't check the Private box and still share files and folders. If you check "Make This Folder Private", it grays out the Sharing boxes. If you check to share, the Private box is grayed out. Any ideas? Other than I'm using FSX! Richard
  2. Ok, I get what you mean. I believe right now both center values are identical. I'll get that corrected. Regards, Richard
  3. Hi Pete, Just to clarify my setup so you have all the details: Server: FSX, GoFlight GFConfig, GoFlight GFKeys, pmSounds. Client 1: pmRJ, GoFlight GFRemote, ActiveSky6.5, Integrated Flight Systems FSCockpit. Not all programs were running for the .log test. I wanted to be sure the problem existed with the minimum of programs operating. As to the rudder pedals, I use CH Pro Pedals. They are assigned and calibrated with FSUIPC. Any fine tuning will be most appreciated. Another email is on it's way to tell_fs. Regards, Richard
  4. Hi Pete, I'm still here! I did not do the FSX re-install. I thought correcting my FSUIPC/WideFS issue ( remember the flogging :-) ), might have fixed my Add-on box vanishing act. It hasn't. It just disappeared a few minutes ago. As soon as I finish this post I'll be working on that SimConnect log file for you. Sorry for the delay, but I wanted to be sure the problem was still there. Regards, Richard
  5. Was better than being stoned. Oops! Well, you know what I mean, with big rocks. :-) Richard
  6. I am hereby publically flogged. Ouch! And well deserved. Moral to the story, "Real the Manual". Richard
  7. Pete, I cannot install WideServer 7. I have downloaded FSUIPC 4.04 numerous times. I extract it, then run the .exe. Screen shows up that says FSUIPC 4 .dll version 4.0 installed into FSX okay. No mention of WideServer. I go to FSX Modules folder. FSUIPC shows as version 4.0.4.0. Wideserver.dll shows as 6.7.0.0. The downloas page says FSUIPC will install FSUIPC4 and WideServer 7. What am I doing wrong. Could that be causing some of my problems. I am using WS6.7 with FSUIPC 4 in FSX vs WS7 and FSUIPC4. Richard
  8. Hi Pete, Ok. Let me work on getting you some log info. The reference I made to GoFlight may be just a coincidence. From what I recall, the disappearing add-on box issue did not start until I installed GFConfig 1.70. I do have GFConfig update 1.71 installed but no improvements. GF did not comment when I emailed them about the Add-on box disappearing after installing GFC. So either they don't care, it's not related or ..... Either way I do not know if they are looking into the issue or not. I will ask GF again. Regards, Richard
  9. Hi Pete, Do you have any updated information on why the Add-On box might disappear from the menu bar? I've searched the forum and read all the posts I can find. To my understanding this problem belongs to Microsoft and is a SimConnect issue? Why I ask is I cannot complete a flight without the Add-On box disappearing. As you know, when it disappears I loose control of all the functions programmed in FSUIPC such as yoke, throttles, rudder pedals, etc. Now, I just phoned MS tech support and the person I talked to said this issue has not been reported to MS. Additionally, since the Add-On box is not part of FSX, I should be talking to you. Somehow I knew that would be the response I would get from MS. So, I now plan to "email" MS tech support but I need to be clear on what I should report. Regards, Richard
  10. Hi Pete, While I'm waiting for Enrico to check the pmRJ, I have another question. What controls the FS Data rate numbers that you see when pressing Cntl+O in the PMGC software? Is that value contolled by the PMGC software or is it by-product of the network? I have tried adding and changing some of the setting in WideServer but none have affected the number. It stays around 11. Regards, Richard
  11. Thanks Pete. I refer this to Enrico. Once again you get the award for the fastest forum post replies! Regards, Richard
  12. Pete, Enrico and I are emailing. I did notice one issue when I ran PMFileChecker38. It's reporting WideServer as version .704 and WideClient 6.71 then indicating a WideServer/WideClient mismatch. Another item for PM? Richard
  13. Hi Pete, Thought it best to get this into it's own post. Continued from: "FSUIPC 4.03 and GFDevFSX problem" post. 14. Thanks! That sounds like what I need to disable. One other unrelated question if I may. What is a "good" number for the FS Data Rate? I mean one that would provide adequate data transfer; maybe I mean a minimum value. I have always had mini pauses in the pmRJ PFD/ND. When I run the pmRJ without connection to FS, I get a very smooth movement of the PFD and ND. Once connected via WideFS, the movement is choppy. I'm still looking over my network configuration. I know the problem is in there somewhere. Regards, Richard
  15. Pete, In a reply above, you mentioned not starting GFConfig until FSX is loaded or at least 50% complete. Do you know how to stop GFC from auto starting? I have looked but can't seem to find how it auto starts with FSX. Regards, Richard
  16. Pete, Add-on drop down disappeard with 4.26 installed. GFConfig 1.70 was running. I did a quick flight in Alaska. All was fine through the flight. Landed, was taxing on an unimproved surface when the wing clipped an evergreen tree. FSX reloaded and sent me back to the starting point of the flight, which was inflight. No flight controls. I looked and Add On was missing. Let me know if you have any other ideas. Enough flying for today. Regards, Richard
  17. Hi Ray, Read the post probably right below this one regarding FSUIPC and GoFlight. Sounds like we are having similar problems. Pete suggested I install latest FSUIPC, 4.26. Regards, Richard
  18. Submitted the last post too soon. I just went back to the sim (different computers) and no flight controls; add-on drop down box is missing again. Richard
  19. Hi Pete, I just checked and I'm running 4.23. I'll download and install the new 4.26. One thing I have noticed about the GFC170 install. The readme file states: When you start up FS X, a series of dialog boxes will appear: - The first dialog asks your permission to run the GoFlight data bridge application "GFDevFSX.exe". To proceed, click the "Yes" button. - In this release, the GoFlight data bridge program is not supplied with a digital signature, and you will see a second dialog informing you of this. Click the "Run" button to continue. - A third dialog will now appear, asking whether you would like to run the GoFlight data bridge as "Trusted" software. Click either "Yes" or "No" on this dialog. I only get the first dialog box. Not sure why the others do not appear. I'll refer this to GF. I also uninstalled GFC170, redownloaded, and installed. I have yet to see the drop down disappear but the sim hasn't been running very long. I'll post again. Regards, Richard
  20. Hi Pete, I thought I'd let you know about a GoFlight error affecting FSUIPC4, I think. First, I have not had this problem until I installed the new GFConfig 1.70. Something, I think the new GFConfig, is causing the Add-On drop down in FSX to disapear, thereby affecting FSUIPC4 and FSX. Twice now, while doing an approach, I loose all controls programmed in FSUIPC4. In this case, flight controls. I could not understand why I could not control the aircraft. Nothing worked. Initially I thought the AP was turned On, but it was Off. After pausing the sim and doing some checking, I noticed the Add-On drop down, where FSUIPC4 is located, was missing. It just wasn't there anymore. I did receive an error message asking if I wanted to report it to MS. The message info went like this: fsx-to-module data bridge AppName: gfdevfsx.exe AppVer: 1.70.0.0 ModName: ntdll.dll ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180 OffSet: 00018fea I have emailed GF about this (and apparently others from posts in their forum which the don't respond to) but have not received any reply. I just wanted to let you know there is a potential problem with GFConfig 1.70 that appears to affect FSUIPC4. I'll post here when I learn more. Regards, Richard
  21. I get the same note when trying to assign FSX view buttons to a PFC yoke. I was about to configure them manually. Decided to check here. Cut and paste is a good idea. Never thought of that. Will wait and see what you find Pete. Regards, Richard
  22. There is a unofficial support forum at Avsim and a beta tester who replies to posts. He is aware of the concerns. I'll also email the author. Regards, Richard
  23. My apologies for asking such foolish questions. I know very little about the internal workings of VoxAtc, PM, FSUIPC, or FS9 AI traffic and multiplayer aircraft. As I stated, I am just asking if the lack of TCAS traffic targets in the PM nav display, when using VoxAtc UK, can be resolved from within FSUIPC. Maybe an option selection. I never said there was anything wrong with FSUIPC. Apparently the issue is either with VoxAtc or PM. Or maybe there is no way to resolve it. Thanks you for your help, Regards, Richard
  24. Yes, AI traffic is sufficient, it's just that VoxAtc would be controlling my aircraft and FS9 would be controlling AI aircraft. Neither knew what the other was doing. That is why the VoxAtc developer decided to find a way to control AI aircraft. To my understanding VoxAtc also uses traffic files from Ultimate Traffic, MyTraffic or just default FS. Not sure how this is done or the pc horsepower requirements since I do not have the UK version. When I wrote about VoxAtc and PM talking to each other I was refering to the two software developers communicating with each other to resolve this issue. Someone else discovered this problem. I was just curious if the fix could something as easy as changing an option in FSUIPC. As I wrote initially, the problem is PM software not displaying the "multiplayer AI aircraft" as TCAS targets. Again, thanks for the help. Regards, Richard
  25. Hi Pete, Thanks for the reply. Ok, I jumped the gun a little with the reference to FSX. I guess I've been reading too many FSX posts lately. Anyway, it appears the issue is with FS9 and the VoxAtc UK version. Apparently VoxAtc UK generates AI aircraft using the multiplayer function. To me, that means it assumes the role as ATC Controller and not FS9. To my understanding, next release is VoxAtc 4.0 (a U.S. version) which will also utilize multiplayer to generate AI. In past versions of VoxAtc, the software generated ATC and FS9 ATC did not work together; AI could easily overtake you on final or while taxing since FS9 ATC did not know you existed. How does VoxAtc UK generate AI? I have no idea but I'm being told that is does with the UK version and will also with v 4.0. I suppose it best to leave it in the hands of VoxAtc and PM providing they are talking to each other. Regards, Richard
