Hi Pete, A question surfaced in the Avsim VoxATC forum regarding FSX multiplayer aircraft and PM Tcas. The question involves VoxAtc generating multiplayer aircraft as AI but PMs inability to display multiplayer aircraft. The original poster has contacted VoxAtc and I guess Pm. Are there any options in FSUIPC (TCAS) which could correct this? I have neither FSX, FSX Beta 3, or FSUIPC 4 Beta so I am not able to investigate. The post is in the Avsim VoxAtc Fourm topic number 657. Regards, Richard

Master Warning/Caution Lights
RichardL replied to RichardL's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Hi Pete, In your diggings through FSX, have you noticed offset values for the annunciator lights? Curious if we now have access to those light states. Regards, Richard -
Pete, I uninstalled ASv6 and the network. Reintalled and re-established the sharing files with "full read'write". ASv6 is now working correctly. Many thanks for the help, Richard
-
They were BLACK "Read Only". I unchecked them. Seems like I saw in one or maybe two of the folders, the Read Only box was filled in with Green. Anyway, all those that have anything to do with FS and ASv6 are unchecked now. Thanks for the help, Richard
-
Pete, One clarification and I will quit taking up your valuable time. When you say "Be sure you also gave permission to all to both read AND write files on that share". Where is that done? I can see two psssible places. When I right click on the folder and select Sharing and Security, there is a box to check to "Allow network users to change my files". Is that the correct place? The other area I see is right click on the folder and under Properties there is a check box that says "Attributies Read-Only". Do I remove the check in that box to allow read and right? Richard

Pete, I'll check the AV6 update but Damian has been emailing me new .exe files to try to fix this problem. One other question. Is it necessary to include the drive letter in the ini file. My FS9 is on E drive. In the AV6 ini, the FS path is identified as: FSPath=\\SIMSERVER\FS9\ Any idea if it matters whether FS9 is on C, D, E, etc drive in the path name? Richard
-
Hi Pete, I'll take a look at the AV6 ini again. Maybe the problem is there. Yes, through Explorer on the AV6 pc I can see all the FS9 files. I disabled the WinXP firewall on both pc's but that did not help. You may be on to something with the FS9 name. A month or so ago we were discussing a RunReady problem that I believe was related to folder names and length. Thanks for the help, Richard

Hi Pete, While I wait for an answer from ActiveSky, I thought I'd you a question. I do not know if you use the AV6 program so you may not be able to answer this question. Could WideFS in any way keep AV6 from accessing network files? Since I upgraded to AV6, I cannot get AV6 to recognize my FS9 pc over the network. I have been emailing AS over the past few days and through testing have determined that something (not AV6) is keeping the AS software from seeing the correct files on the FS9 pc. I have no antivirus software other than what may be in BIOS. I added an exception to WinXP firewall for AV6. Still the problem persists. WideFS may have nothing to do with the problem but I thought I'd better ask. Regards, Richard

FSUIPC Control Using Momentary and Toggle Switches
RichardL replied to RichardL's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Hi Pete, I'll look at that again. I seem to remember asking that in an earlier post. Seems that "focus" to the SA-WXR program was the problem. That's why I was looing at using the direct offset method. Let me look into that again. Regards, Richard -
FSUIPC Control Using Momentary and Toggle Switches
RichardL replied to RichardL's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Thanks for the pointers Pete. Doesn't sound like my GoFlight idea will work without assigning a clearing value switch. A rather unrealistic procedure eyerytime I want to change the radar range, mode, etc. Yes, I do believe SA-WXR could use some rework. I have made many requests to the author but apparently his involvement in PSS 777 is more important than helping SA-WXR customers. His replies in the AOG forum explains much. Regards, Richard -
Pete, I need your help programming switches in FSUIPC Keys section. I believe you are aware of the difficulty understanding offsets in SA-WXR documentation. Me too, and I know every little about hex. I have finally decided to use a GoFlight remote mount unit to send a Key command to FUSIPC. From there, FSUIPC will send the offset bit values to SA-WRX. GoFlight unit will be plugged in the FS9 server and SAWXR is on a client with pmRJ. Here is my question. Does FSUIPC see a momentary switch the same as a toggle switch? SA-WXR will be controlled with toggle and rotary switches. NO monentary switches. A fellow SA-WXR user has, with your help, given me offset bit values to turn on switches. Due to SA-WXR coding I believe, a clearing bit must be sent after each switch is used. Would the clearing bit xFFFF, work regardless of switch type? How does the clearing bit get sent if a toggle switch is placed in the On position and not turned Off. Lets use the Ground Clutter Suppression switch as an example. If I turn On GCS, how does the clearing bit get sent to activate other switches if I keep GSC On throughout the flight? Through testing, I am able to control SA-WXR with FSUIPC and a GoFlight P8 (momentary push button switch) but I do not have a T8 toggle switch unit to test with. I would appreciate any help you can give. Best Regards, Richard

How to control SA_WXR via FSUIPC buttons?
RichardL replied to Pantu's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
I'm sure glad someone else has found the SAWXR offset information difficult to understand. If you Pete, are just a small bit confused with how to get offsets to work in SAWXR, I'll never figure it out. I've been trying for months with no luck. I do appreciate the help you provided. Regards, Richard -
I want to have two LED's that will illuminate when the Master Warning and Master Caution lights turn On and Off on the FS9 King Air 350 panel. The LEDs will be in a real instrument panel. Does andyone know how to capture the condition of the Master Warning and Master Caution display lights? I have looked through all the Offsets but saw nothing related to panel lights. I suspect the offsets are for "switch" conditions. Regards, Richard

Ken, Thanks for the tip. I'll pass on this fix to Florian. Regards, Richard -
WideClient Run/RunReady Problems
RichardL replied to UAL45's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Pete, Here they are as displayed: d:\WideFS\WideClient.exe d:\AOG Weather Radar\SA WXR\sa_wxr.exe Would you recommend I simplify the AOG folder name even though the problem is fixed? Regards, Richard -

Appears to have fixed my problem launching SA-WXR. All I did was download the update and place it in the existing WideFS folder. Many Thanks! Richard -
WideClient Run/RunReady Problems
RichardL replied to UAL45's topic in FSUIPC Support Pete Dowson Modules
Pete, Could this post be related to my problem launching SA-WXR with RunReady? Florian is on holiday till the 19th so he has not looked into the issue yet. I'll put WideClient in my SA-WXR folder and see it I still get the 401 error message. Regards, Richard -
Hi Pete, Thanks for the reply. I'll get back with Florian and see it he can help. You can download v1.2.2 from his forum page: http://forums.simflight.com/viewforum.php?f=193 I haven't studied just what he updated other than a fix when using FSUIPC 3.50 Regards, Richard
-
Hi Pete, I'm receiving run-time error 401 when AOG's SA-WRX weather radar is started by WideClient's RunReady command. SA-WRX starts fine if I double click the icon. Here is the error message: "Run-time error 401. Can't show non-modal form when modal form is displayed. Config file error." Florian is not sure, but doesn't think this is caused by SA-WRX since it starts fine if started manually. I'm using WideFS6.50, FSUIPC 3.50 and SA-WRX 1.2.2. Regards, Richard

Actually I'm looking for the light offset, not the light's switch offset. If you look at the FS9 King Air 350 panel you will see a red and yellow warning annunciator. Those light up under certain conditions. There are also two green autofeather annunciators that illuminate when the autofeather system is armed. I'm looking for the offset for those lights. Richard
-
Is there an offset for Master Warning, Master Caution, and Autofeather Arm lights? I'm adding LEDs to my flightdeck and need offsets for the three listed panel lights. What I need is the offset that turns ON the Master Warning and Master Caution light when a waring or caution state exists. I also need an offset that turns ON the Autofeather annunciator. I've looked in the SDK but can't seem to find them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Richard
-
Same here. Thanks, Pete PS I also had a problem with the pmRJ fuel panel not displaying fuel usage. It is working again. Not sure if the test build fixed it but I'll report it to Enrico.

Pete, I'll email FSHotSeat and ask them to read the post. Still curious why they never contacted you for help. Sort of like being lost and not wanting to ask for directions. One of those "guy" things I guess. Richard
-
FSHotSeat support replied to my email. They indicated that a change in FSUIPC created a bug in their software. No mention of what changed or how if affected the software. Hopefully they will contact Pete to resolve the problem. Richard

Pete, Zipped .key and .log files emailed to you yesterday. No reply yet from FSHotSeat support. Richard
