Lots of fun guys. Sorry I didn't keep up on the chat window as much. I was watching 4 screens on three computers.
the main FS on one. Team speak and chat window on another...
FS nav on the second PC and the server status, GMT server and the spreadsheet on the laptop.
Too bad there were a few that couldn't connect, sorry Remy. I know that can be frustrating. We had connections problems earlier (I couldn't get back in) for a while, then all of a sudden, it worked. All and all the servers did quite well.
Those of you without mic for team speak... remember you should still be able to to join team speak so you can listen to the fun.

This event was a timed event where pilots were provided an arrival time at Emma and had to plan a take off time and airport to arrive at Emma at the assigned time. Winds were provided (up to 2000 feet) and were not known until the day of the event.
Eleven players participated in the event and we all had a great time. The Winner was Cbris who flew for 1 hr 18 min and 31 sec and was just SIX seconds off his arrival time!!! Great Job. Honorable mention goes to moore1018 who flew for 1hr 9 min and 39 seconds and was just NINE seconds off their arrival time!!! Andysedgley flew for 1hr 10min and 44sec and was 1 min 24 sec off arrival time. T
he airlines could sure use you guys!!
Frame rates seemed to affect more and more towards the end when everyone is hanging around Emma… when we do something like this again, we can come up with something to help not get the 5 FPS… that makes it a little harder to land.
Well done to everyone!
Snowman took some pictures and 8 X 10 glossies are available from him…
Stay tuned for the next MP!
Keep the blue side up and the green side down!!

Thanks guys, it was lots of fun for me too---and I didn't even fly!! Looking forward to the next one.
-
See you at the next one.
-
Please announce your take off so I can log your actual take off time.
-
Yes Soccalpilot you can join.
Your assigned arrival time is 20:10. We already have an 20:00 arrival time assigned.
Remember you should fly for over one hour (your original flight time is 45 min.) That will cause serious points... and the point system is like golf... the least amount of points wins.
ALL PILOTS!!!
Please anounce your take off so I can capture your actual take off time.

Sorry to hear you are under the weather CBris... hope you can shake it soon.

Just letting you know that I use a separate PC to run FSNav and use the same port as FSHost to connect. I too could not connect both myself and FSNav from the same PC. It worked once upon a time but stopped. I now use the other PC with FS2004/FSNav and all is quite nice.

Thanks Darry, I set it up like that and it works fine. thanks for the heads up.
-
I'll be setting the weather for the fly-in... all I can say now is you will have good visibility, so that part won't be a factor.
-
Shammed, glad you can make the fly in...
Falcon409 and Shamir, can you post your flight plans? If you don't want to divulge you secret plans  you can PM me... or you can post here.
-
Good to see ya...

Thanks for all the pointers Pups, all good advice.
I would like to run FSNav as well as fs9 but can't seems to get both to connect at the same time. Either one can go in separately, but not together. I know about the apparent port different for FSnav, 24477, (keep that in my trusty checklist book) but still no go. Anybody have any ideas? perhaps port forwarding?
(My firewall is on a router)
I thought about running FSNAV as a standalone on another PC... can it run stand alone? do you think it would help? can I run two PC on the same LAN into the same FS Host?
Good point about crash detection, don't expect you to hit anyone in the air, but don't want to smack anyone while on the ground. instead of turning off crash detection, isn't there a setting for crash into multiplayer aircraft that should be turned off?
Screen shots with everyone... UMMM that one slipped by. I think a shot with all of us in beween the runways with the club house in the background would be nice. Don't have a photographer yet... anyone?
Still thinking how to handle being dropped off the server that would be fair. Open for suggestions.
Remember rule #1...

Very nice... I see what you meant on the string when you said, real life was almost as good as FS...
-
Registered by no replies... I even took a bath too :?:
Edit... its all cool now.

I didn't mean for the bulletin board to be for everybody who bought Emma... it would be just an add on file created for us. Much like the other Add on Emma stuff.
That would be a night mare to keep up.
-
I'll throw this out as an idea in the current Emma and in the future Emma, not from the developers per sey, but for someone that knows how to do it...
Would it be possible to have an Add on "some'm some'm" with the names of the winners of the Emma Events?
I'm thinking of something like a bulletin board somewhere with the names of the events we have and the winners, like this weekends fly in, and some other future events.
I was thinking of a file, that when loaded, puts an add on Bulletin board by the picnic area, or maybe a sign outside the club house, or a board in the hanger... or anywhere else.
It wouldn't be part of Emma, and not part of the upcoming Emma, just an add on file (to both maybe) to give new meaning to bragging rights that is really meant for just us guys.
I have seen the inside of some hangers that has some really great detail that you never see unless you pull up to it.
After each event, the file would be updated and posted. we would download and put in the file where ever it need to be (on our hard drives) and when we move up to that part of Emma, we could read the past winners name.
Just a thought.

Thanks for all the info guys... its going to be a long week.

You guys notice airport 7wa4 (on the end of hopo 18), hovers over the ground. Don't taxi off the runway, you will drop to the ground and crash!!!
At least is that way in my set up.
These hops are fun, sure a challenge to land on a place you have never been before.
-
Sorry to here that man.
You have your priorties set correctly... Hope everything works out.
Take care.

Didn't lago do that for diamond Point? Put a name on each house for the first people to buy one?
-
Great to have you sixty4
I have an assigned arrival time of 20:00:00 ZULU if thata ok.
On the other string, just post your planned departure airport, departure time and planned route.
See ya then
-
Ok, so my assigned arrival time is 19:45 (11:45am Pacific?).
That's correct

Below are the assigned arrival times for those that have already sign up. What a great turn out! Times are UTC starting at 19:10 (11:10 AM Emma time)
--I figured every 5 min arrival times would allow for good spacing so you don't affect the approach of each other.
--No one stated a preference except for pby5, so I pretty much kept it in the order of signing up.
--Arrival times are not set in stone, just let me know if you want to move it a bit. (I don't want it spread all over the place, its more fun to fly together)
--I'll be giving time hacks on Team speak and chat window approximately every 5 mins or so to keep everybody notified of the "official" time.
--Please announce your departure from---so we can capture your departure time when you take off.
--Remember, wind speed and direction will be set on the FS Host.
--Pilots can still join in on the fun.
--Still looking for a potographer
Please let me know the following information prior to your depature. You can post it here or PM me with the information.
--Departing Airport
--Planned departure time
--Plan route
--EFFC number
--Plane

Thanks, that must be a buzz to fly. I thing I would need to fly the right seat, I use a joy stick and I would be afraid to put it in a dive when I meant to give it some gas if I was in the left seat!!
Love the panel and VR.
Every one look for your assigned arrival times on another thread. I didn't want to have then buried on page 5 of this thread.
