  1. I am getting ready to go back on the road again and want to move my FS9 stuff to my lap top. I copied over the ...microsoft games\flight simulater 9 folder to my laptop.

Everything seems OK except Emma doesn't work. I expected that because I don't have FS2k2 with Emma loaded.

However, all the WA state stuff that I just put there... the airport along the coast that Lauren and others did isn't there.

Is there another folder I need to move over?

    Thanks,

    mark

  2. If I may, can I recap so I understand? so you have 2PCs, each with one monitor? Is each PC is running FS9? Or does wide view allow you to "slide" another view to the other PC as if it was the second monitor on the same PC?

Does wideview work for other programs as if it was a second monitor on one PC? Does the cursor slide over to the second screen as if it was connected to the single PC...

    Sorry for the basic questions.

    Thanks,

    Mark

  3. If you export the FS NAV plan as a FS2004 flight plan, you then can load that under flight planing. (sorry don't have the system in front of me to get exact steps or wording) this will be visible in the GPS. For the points that are not at an airport, the GPS will call them Fix01, Fix02 etc...

We did this for a big MP a while ago, works great!!

  4. I run a laptop for work and also have FS9 installed on it... its great, but I haven't installed any adons yet... also, since I travel so much, its not set up with the joystick and pedals,,, it could be, but not reason to.

I have a Dell inspiron 8500 with a G-force graphics card (can't remember which one), 512 RAM and a 15.4 inch 1920 X 1200 screen.. Its a high end laptop so its got the performance to fly and play ghost recon. Sometimes when at home, I'll hook and run two monitors for a change of pace...

But I paid for that power... I agree with jwenting... you get more bang for your buck with a desk top.

would I buy a laptop for games... no... mine is for travel first and for most.. games are second. I did pump up the RAM for flight sim (don't tell my wife... but all the power is so the the laptop won't go obsolete tomorrow.

  5. You will find this is a great place for that...

If you want more structure where the ATC provide vectors for landing and control the airspace etc... try

    http://fstower.com/

I went there a year or so ago and not since, (not much time) so I don't know how it may have changed...

But don't overlook the friendly skies over EMMA and the group on the same server ...fsfreeforall both are fun...

(oops, can I say "friendly skies"???)well, it still applies.
