  1. Always checking. Timbo put this site up a while ago - although it pays to remind people. It doesn't mean that you are safe from virus attacks though - so make sure you have good anti virus software.

I always run invisible and fully stealthed. It pays to be safe.

Your Internet port 139 does not appear to exist!

One or more ports on this system are operating in FULL STEALTH MODE! Standard Internet behavior requires port connection attempts to be answered with a success or refusal response. Therefore, only an attempt to connect to a nonexistent computer results in no response of either kind. But YOUR computer has DELIBERATELY CHOSEN NOT TO RESPOND (that's very cool!) which represents advanced computer and port stealthing capabilities. A machine configured in this fashion is well hardened to Internet NetBIOS attack and intrusion.

Unable to connect with NetBIOS to your computer.

All attempts to get any information from your computer have FAILED. (This is very uncommon for a Windows networking-based PC.) Relative to vulnerabilities from Windows networking, this computer appears to be VERY SECURE since it is NOT exposing ANY of its internal NetBIOS networking protocol over the Internet.

TruStealth: PASSED - ALL tested ports were STEALTH,

    - NO unsolicited packets were received,

    - NO Ping reply (ICMP Echo) was received.

  2. From what I can gather about 2 GIG of footage was filmed!

What is a 'good' representation of Nam in a movie - or do you need a mix of bits of films? I've never been fooled by the Hollywood versions - but would be interested in the reality - the truth - of the events.

Apocolypse Now is a cacophony of noise and overwhelming visuals - a sensory bombardment - I can easily imagine that alot of what goes on in that film is not too far stretched from reality(not the killing of Kurtz, but the 'little' parts of the film).

  3. Rocking you from the Delta to the DMZ - Looking for Kurtz where a sane guy just wouldn't go. Out where Charlie don't surf, a squad of Hueys took down the Brown River on patrol....what did we find....

Coming soon - Chaders new video with me, Supercub34, Carlos and the Simviatormeister Chad Hannah himself - Sound track by The Rolling Stones...and more...

  4. Woah!

After reading Mikes rant there I'm not sure I'd even thimk of looking at his stuff again.

Bill Lyons is working on a Goose for his 'Tales of the Gold Monkey' package - and Bill is one of those designers that I think are great - and for one reason in particular...

    Hey Mr designer type,

Please can you help me etc etc

    Hi user of my software,

    Sure -

People like this make the packages so much better. Customer service.

  5. Oooh.....don't install Emma2k2 direct. Speak to Simon first. Theres a lot of stuff that you don't need in the 2k2 Emma. Not a lot is taken across (File wise). I finally got it - lots of AI Cubs, not a lot happening on the deck. You will need the Emma restoration pack from the One Stop Shop.

  6. I had it, and took it out of my hangar.

It's not the greatest of aircraft models out there.

Which reninds me - DON'T get the 'new' Tucano (A red painted thing).

You will be devestated that this trash can still be put on a site for download.

I had better graphics on my ZX48 Spectrum....after I dropped it.

If it went one step further backwards in design, it would have a solid yellow canopy...it's really that bad!

  7. I suggest you have a look for 'Seafire Display' in the forum (or on his site).

He put on the best air display on a sim that I have ever seen.

    Chad Hannah was mentioned....

Have you managed to do the Vancouver Bridge stunt yet?

  8. The jump is the easy thing....

For one jump, you need to learn emergenct drills so when the instructor suddenly barks at you, when you are half way through a cup of tea, you automatically shout out the drill!

For my one jump, I need to know how to deal with an aircraft emergency at less than 1000ft, 3000ft, 5000ft and above. Also how to deal with all manner of chute emergencies, from poor opening, torn canopy, broken lines, lines twisted over the canopy, failed opening and more. For one jumo, I need to know cut away procedures to go to emergency chute.

Once the chute is open......wil I hit water, powerlines, trees and buildings? - each of those has a procedure you need to know off pat.

I'm glad I have two great instructors - one main one - the ex-para, great sense of humour - and a hard and straight teaching style. After half a day I felt ready, and could run through procedure without a thought.

I am so looking forward to it now - and guess what - Rain and wind yesterday - SUNNY today, but can't get to the field!

  9. Can you give us a hint whereabouts to spread these 3 pillows on the ground for you ?

    Funny you should say that.....

After going through entry drills, emergency drills, exit drills, emergency drills, flight drills, emergency drills, landing drills, emergency drills and emergency drills, I asked if the two crash mats on the airfield were in case all the drills failed. (YES - 2 crash mats were on the field - for jumpers to aim for !!!)

I am well prepared and ready (ex-para instructors kinda leave you totally absorbed to the bone in drill!)

Cheers guys. I 'm hoping for next Tuesday.....

  10. ...and more news, in real life my wife decided to spring a birthday surprise on me (it is actually tomorrow).

We drove up to Hinton airfield (Portsmouth, via Bristol!!! Mother in law driving, wife navigating!!! - I drove home...straight down the A34 onto the M3.....hmmmm)

The surprise - A 12,000ft accelerated free fall solo jump - 1 days intense training with a jump.

Well...I had the intense 2 on 1 training (2 ex para instructors and me!) - but no jump yet due to bad weather....

For those interested - Jump plane looks to be an OY registered (?) GAF Nomad.

12,000ft....2.5 miles I think....go to your sims and look down.....Damn yes am I looking forward to this! I feel well prepared and confident - I can't wait.

Jump will now hopefully happen this coming week!
