  1. I have spent considerable time this morning getting the extra EZ objects and others reloaded. I may have more to go but the extra scenery bloat is getting there.

I also downloaded and installed the latest Cushman scenery that Phil has so very kindly provided.

I can say that it has made a huge difference.

P.S. What happened to the Green buoy ?

    Starting off with DX10 off....

    1. Now a helicopter and cart are there.

    2. Looking back.

    3. Towards the hanger

    4. The spiffy C208 in its Fire Wagon Colors

    5. Her other side

    7. A Top Down View of the Airport Area

    ..more to come

  2. The Marina near the Airport.

I have to say that I do not recall which scenery this has come from. It does not exist in my SP1 system at all.

All of these are DX10 with Water at 2 High as opposed to Max. ( I did not notice much difference between the highest and one notch down..so far)

    1. Looking from the back

    2. Looking in front near the buoys

    3. Boats are in dry dock !

It almost seems that the land and water have moved resulting in different depth and encroachment to add-ons scenery items.

The water effects are simply awesome. I almost thought I was at a lake in the mountains and could smell the water.

  3. I will post this with minimal images for now.

    1. Top View Windows XP FSX SP1 with UTX and many active items not necessarily in the correct priority.

    2. Top View Windows Vista 32 DX10.

The layout of the terrain is different and it almost appears that either the airport or the surrounding geography has moved.

    3. Outside view from the Lake viewing both the fancy marina and the airport with surrounding scenery.

One major item notices was the removal of the signs form the hanger in DX10 mode. Seems there may be issues with image configuration between SP1 and SP2/DX10. I did hear about something to this effect from a developer. Has something to do with image format as aircraft textures disappeared in SP2/DX10.

  4. Gary,

My most recent rebuild of FSX included a full build to FSX Expansion Pack/SP2 on Vista before I did a clean install of UTX and UTX Canada. All of the programs and their directories were removed before I rebuilt although I did keep my flights folder.

I also noted that in some places turning DX10 on/off seemed to make some differences but I need to revisit that now that the rebuild is complete. I still have Vanc+ X to put back in too.

As stated earlier I will visit Cushman later today and post some images of what I see as I have not visited since the rebuild. I have a second test system on XP with SP1 that I can use to visit Cushman sans SP2.

    Cheers !

  5. Well,

I have been spending considerable time dealing with what appears to be anomalies.

These are very small creatures that live inside the gopher holes at Emma.

They come out at night to feed upon those who have the audacity to use FSX, FSX SP1 and finally FSX SP2.

They seem to accelerate their expansion to most recent airstrips and pack themselves in places near Emma.

No amount of tweaking of your UT or your Genesis seems to matter as they are like those creatures that live on the night of the Living Dead. Creeping over runways and crowding the lands with excessive amounts of water and drowning the more recent digs and stones that have been carefully placed to please the Emmaites.

Yup, I have had some problems but so far I am not aware of any huge problem with Cushman Air Park.

I shall visit there tomorrow and see if the little creatures are digging and making a mess of things.

  6. A successful online flight was completed on Saturday from Emma/Bremerton to Bowerman by the sea. Many thanks to EFC-1162 (mike172) for joining EFC-998 (canuck21a)

Although there was a considerable time difference between Germany and Canada time stood still, so to speak, for the flying club pilots.

  7. mike172,

I was fortunate yesterday to check the website for the server and saw two pilots there. I joined them and enjoyed a good flight.

Sometimes there are not many there.

It is a good idea to maybe try to make a scheduled visit with another pilot to fly together.

If you would like to try please PM (Personal Message) me and we can try to schedule a flight together.

Note that I am EDT (GMT-4) and I use FSX but we have all worked well together with FS2004 and FSX on the server.

We also use TS to make it more fun.

  8. After some consideration of my potential self-inflicted woes I decided to turn off just about everything non-stock to see if some anomalies could be removed.

I was at Seattle-Tacoma and observing that the airport was elevated from the surrounding ground with UTX turned off, so I changed the mesh to 38m and tried again.

Things flattened out, so I tried 19m and things went weird again. I then shut down FSX and remove FS Genesis NW mesh and restarted.

Things looked better so I then tried 10m again. Things stayed level.

I turned UTX back on and things looked much better.

I moved to Bob's Fishing Lodge to see if the runway was level with the cabin and it now seems much better:
