saitek panels with SPAD make FSX freeze

After long time reseaching why my FSX freeze (sound still play but screen freeze) i know that lates FSUIPC not compactible with SPAD driver. If fly with default aircraft, SPAD working in default FSUIPC mode no problem. When using SPAD as virtual Joystick, it make random Freeze and i need to kill FSX manual. Turnoff all Saitek Panels (radio, switch ..etc..) remove SPAD, all fine work. I fly with PMDG 737, iFly, LEVELD ... all the same result.

Still no solution to solve problem. Any one can help.

Any information about this "freeze", like version of FSUIPC? Version of FSX (SP1, SP2, Acceleration?). Any logs of FSUIPC? Does the Windows Error log show anything?

What is SPAD exactly? An external program or another DLL? Is it that Saitek driver? What is the difference between SPAD "working in default" and "as virtual joystick"?

Still no solution to solve problem.

Still no solution? Since when? This is the first post of any such problem!

I'm sorry my english not so good.

FSUIPC version 4.812. FSX acceleration. EVENT LOG not show anything. When i start FSX every thing normal. When taxi or takeoff, FSX freeze and only way to get out is ctrl+alt+del and ending proccess FSX.

When i unplug all saitek panels, remove SPAD and try fly every thing is OK. Try 3 time with PMDG 737 and iFly 737 sp1, 2 hours fly without problem.

Trying install SPAD and Saitek panel problem come back. Freeze come after fsx start above 10 minutes or when using rudder, yoke ...

Fsuipc log not show error. Let me try log again and sent here.

I don't know what SPAD does exactly. Is it using FSUIPC? Are you assigning the rudder, yoke etc in FSUIPC? What does SPAD have to do with these?

Fsuipc log not show error. Let me try log again and sent here.

In FSUIPC Logging tab enable Axis event logging. And also show me the FSUIPC4.INI file. If the log is very long just show the last section before the "freeze".

Yes. I Assigning Rudder, aileron, Left+Right Brakes, Throttler, Mixture, Proper, all Axis i have with FSUIPC. Working fine. Spad make Saitek panel buttons as virtual Joystick and sent directly to FSUIPC and let FSUIPC assign to special Aircraft model, including payable (PMDG 737NG i using).

But I still don't understand. By "virtual joystick" do you mean it is somehow creating all those axes for you and you somehow operate the axes from buttons? Why do you need SPAD when Saitek buttons and axes are seen directly in any case? What is SPAD doing for you?

Saitek panels only support Default FSX aircrafts. I need SPAD to make virtual Buttons, sent to FSUIPC then using mouse macro or lua script make saitek panels. buttons work with payable aircraft like iFly, PMDG 737NGX etc...

It make me using gear Up/down, lights turn on?off, trim.

Saitek panels only support Default FSX aircrafts. I need SPAD to make virtual Buttons, sent to FSUIPC then using mouse macro or lua script make saitek panels. buttons work with payable aircraft like iFly, PMDG 737NGX etc..

Do you mean the buttons on those panels don't send joystick buttons to FS? How are they supporting the default aircraft? No assignments being made? I still don't get this.

Most of the stuff in there doesn't sem to be related to button pressing -- or does it? When you first started this thread you said "When using SPAD as virtual Joystick, it make random Freeze" -- but are these "freezes" really random, or do they occur when you've pressed one of the buttons whhich SPAD is dealing with?

If it freezes without you touching anything on the panels, how can it be SPAD? What would SPAD be doing when you aren't using the panels?

I see you are using LINDA too. Are you sure it isn't more related to LINDA than to SPAD? Try SPAD without LINDA to see.

What are these doing?

Does FSUIPC stop logging when you notice the freeze or are all those repetitive controls being logged continuing all the time, forever?

Yes, Saitek don't make any Assignments needed. I think it using Simconnect and directly sent Buttons status to FSX via Simconnect.

Yes. I say that. if i run SPAD, it make FSX freeze event i never using any buttons Assignment by SPAD. When i remove it. smouth work.

FSUIPC stop log imediatly when freeze. Many unknow EVENT show here.

I using Linda for MCP Combo II Vrinsight. I will try SPAD without linda then let you know.

Hi Pete,

I'll start with a basic run down of my specs as I am running so of the same hardware/software as billydragon. Apologies if I seem to be hijacking billydrangon's topic/post.

i7 2600k , 16gb ram, 2gb Sapphire Radeon 6950, W7 x64 Home premium

FSX (SP2), REX Overdrive, ifly 737NG, SceneryTech Landclass, Various Airport addons payware and freeware,

Saitek Multipanel/Yoke/throttle, CH Rudder Pedals, VRInsight 737 Overhead (VRInsight software),TrackIR.

Remote PC is Core2Duo E6850 - running FSC9, XAcars and some other bits and pieces.

Registered FSUIPC and WideFS.

I have been running the above for quite a few months with no issues. In the last month I have been pulling my hair out as FSX is freezing with sound randomly (never on the ground, usually during climb or cruise) just as billydragon mentioned. For the last month I been trying to work out what has changed on my system trying to work out the culprit at no point in time did I ever suspect FSUIPC or Wide FS. I have come to realise that nothing had changed except that I had upgraded to the latest FSUIPC (4.81) and WideFS (6.94) which coincides with when the freezes started. These freezes happen on 90% of flights, so I do manage to complete fights on occasion.

Unfortunately I had reopened FSX before I read this post so the latest FSUIPC log got re-written. But WideFS logs shows quite a few timed out responses. I have attached the WideFS log:

After fresh Windows 7 x64 ultimate reinstall, fresh FSX with FS Global 2010, and i move SPAD to other Network PC running Wideclient lates version, this PC also running REX via Simconnect. On Master FSX PC only FSX running.

Problem is gone. no more freeze. Try 4 time flyng KLAX-KSFO with PMDG 737NGX.

Well I'm sorry to say this. But I'm currently experiencing the same problems using SPAD. I have flown around the Island of Bornholm EKRN. I can fly for about 5 minutes before it freezes. I'm using the latest FSUIPC on a windows 7. If I fly without SPAD I have no problems at all.

Sorry, I've no idea about SPAD. Is there a Support Forum for it?

Please note that I cannot support any version of FSUIPC earlier than 4.90 or 3.999z2. You seem to be adding to an old thread dating back to 4.823!

Hi,

But in fact the product reached only version 0.5.1 until now. I used these drivers too, when I was on FS9 as this was a fine possibility to integrate the Saitek hardware via LUA with some payware aircrafts. The standard Saitek drivers for FS9 only integrate with the stock aircrafts. In fact I also wrote here in your forum about a minor bug in this software:

I got a fix after 9 months ;) At that time I switched already to FSX with new hardware (GoFlight). Beside this small error I was quite satisfied with the tool.

Has it always frozen FSX? If so don't all SPAD users have the same problem? Have you any information about the freeze at all? Does it still do it if you set the recent FSUIPC option "AutoScanDevices" to 'No'?

If it is only related to the Saitek devices then I'd suspect their drivers. Are there other versions you can try? Or maybe they've been corrupted and an uninstall and reinstall might help?

BTW, I was getting hangs and crashes around I have flown around Bornholm and also sometimes near Copenhagen, and I narrowed it down specifically to two BGLs in Ultimate Terrain. Once I'd disabled those i never got the problems again. If you are only getting problems in specific geographic areas it will always be down to BGLs or their associated textures or terrain.

If you switched from Saitek to Goflight, why are you running SPAD in any case? Isn't it specific to Saitek?

I know this is an old thread, but I didn't want to start a new thread with a simular problem. I think I have found a solution on the SPAD forum. I have moved my Saitek radio panel from the USB Hub to the computer. Now everything works like a charm (keeping my fingers crossed). I have flown around the island without any freezing of my computer. And the panels have stopped switching between values.

Sorry for having been unclear: I just wanted to point you to the forum, as you asked. I don't use SPAD anymore as I did use it only with FS9. Last year I switched to FSX and by that I also have eliminated my Saitek Panels.

It was just to point you to the site of SPAD and the forum.
