nekeroom 0 Report post Posted March 2, 2015 Great work thanks as I have had to reinstall fsx with steam following problems running under windows 8.1 However when I run the installer it never asks for registration details at the end and FSX shows it is running an unregistered version. Is it possible to register with this set up ie fsx steam on windows 8.1 I cannot attach the log file as I get a message saying you aren't permitted to upload this kind of file so a copy is below ********* FSUIPC4, Version 4.939d by Pete Dowson *********Reading options from "H:\FSX STEAM\steamapps\common\FSX\Modules\FSUIPC4.ini"Running inside FSX Steam Edition on Windows 8Module base=5A590000User Name=""User Addr=""FSUIPC4 not user registeredWIDEFS7 not user registered, or expired 47 System time = 02/03/2015 14:53:10 47 FLT path = "G:\From C Users\kenm_5000\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\" 78 Trying to connect to SimConnect Steam ... 94 FS path = "H:\FSX STEAM\steamapps\common\FSX\" 391 LogOptions=00000000 00000001 391 --- CONTROLS timer memory location obtained ok 391 --- SIM1 Frictions access gained 391 --- FS Controls Table located ok 391 --- Installed Mouse Macro hooks ok. 391 --- Wind smoothing fix is fully installed 391 --- G3D.DLL fix attempt installed ok 391 SimConnect_Open succeeded: waiting to check version okay 391 Trying to use SimConnect Steam 1781 Running in "Microsoft Flight Simulator X", Version: 10.0.62608.0 (SimConnect: 10.0.62608.0) 1781 Initialising SimConnect data requests now 1781 FSUIPC Menu entry added 1797 FLIGHTS\OTHER\FLTSIM.FLT 1797 simobjects\airplanes\Aircreation_582SL\Aircreation_582SL.AIR 13110 System time = 02/03/2015 14:53:23, Simulator time = 14:53:12 (22:53Z) 78016 Starting everything now ... 79188 Advanced Weather Interface Enabled 91000 System time = 02/03/2015 14:54:41, Simulator time = 14:53:26 (22:53Z) 91000 *** FSUIPC log file being closedMinimum frame rate was 29.3 fps, Maximum was 30.0 fpsMinimum available memory recorded was 3028MbAverage frame rate for running time of 14 secs = 29.8 fpsG3D fix: Passes 10940, Null pointers 0, Bad pointers 0, Separate instances 0Memory managed: 7 Allocs, 7 Freed********* FSUIPC Log file closed ***********
Pete Dowson 226 Report post Posted March 2, 2015 However when I run the installer it never asks for registration details at the end You must have aborted it before it finished then and it cannot finish normally without asking this. Were there any messages? . Where is the Install log, please? Paste it here. I cannot help without any information. Pete

Pete Dowson 226 Report post Posted March 3, 2015 Copy of install log here No, that's the run-time log from FSUIPC version 4.939d, the same one you posted before, and proving it installed fine. The install log actually has install in the name. Pete
Pete Dowson 226 Report post Posted March 4, 2015 Okay. I found the problem in any case. Please try the installer for FSUIPC 4.938e, use this link: Install_FSUIPC4939e.zip Pete

Jammerjonn 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2015 I just downloaded FSUIPC and now it's 4.947 for windows 7 pro 64 bit and FSXSE from http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html Hopefully this fixes my joystick problem. I can use it but after being on auto pilot for a while I loose my joystick. When I check it in FSXSE, it's shows working correctly and I can calibrate it but it doesn't. I've been working on this problem for months. Same thing happens in windows 8, 8.1 and 10. Logitech says this new extreme pro 3d joystick is compatible with all versions of windows. I did check the properties of it in device manager and I unchecked the box to allow windows to turn it off to save power and I tried setting it to works as a vista unit, made no difference. It's plugged in to the rear of the system directly into the motherboard not the usb extension cable running up front. It was suggested to plug it into the usb 3 port but it won't go it. Mickeysoft says it's a problem with Logitech's software because it auto installs into program files not the C drive. Logitech says it's a problem with FSXSE and I have to admit it didn't happen with the box version of FSX...........Everyone blames the other but no one wants to fix the problem. All of the websites for FSX have people complaining abut this issue.....I'll let you know if this fixed it. Thanks for all your years of helping us poor souls to at least fly in our dream. I don't know about Win10, but that may be the same. I'm afraid I don't know enough about Win8 /10 to help further directly, but I think there is someething else you can do to stop joystick devices getting "turned off". Maybe a Google search will find it. It has probably been posted here somewhere, but the search for such a mention is pretty well impossibble to frame and i've not managed. Logitech says it's a problem with FSXSE and I have to admit it didn't happen with the box version of FSX. No, there's absolutely no difference in this area between any of the 4 versions of FSX, and FSX-SE, or any version of FSUIPC for that matter. It's all standard Windows "DirectInput" programming, standard calls into standard software. It's something to do with Win8 /10 and I think there's a way to fix it. I just don't know what it is. I'll ask someone who I think knows about this ... Pete
