Aerosoft A3.. pro - buttons assignment

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am using A320 pro from Aerosoft. My joystick is Thrustmaster T flight Hotas X and am assigning all buttons and axes with FSUIPC 5.14. Everything else works properly except Autopilot On and Off assignment. Whatever buttons I assign they doesn't work. Can you comment please?

Thank you!

Are you assigning to a control or a keypress? Does the keypress (z key?) work?

This thread may be helpful:  http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/38298-cant-disconnect-autopilot/

There is also a Lua script for controlling the Aerosoft A320 autopilot functions available from a link in this post: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/85325-airbus-a318a319-lua-script-for-fsuipc/ and further information  here: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/68729-using-joystick-to-control-autopilot-functions/

Also, for future reference, it is always a good idea to attach your FSUIPC5.ini file for assignment/calibration problems.

Cheers,

John

EDIT: looks like the lua scripts from those links are no longer available. Instead you could download the lua scripts from the linda package here (or look for a later/updated version) : https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/451948-aerosoft-airbus-module-44-v3/.  You don't necessarily have to use the whole script, but it might give you some insight into how to get this working (i.e. its using the lvars AB_AP_AP1& AB_AP_AP2 to turn autopilot 1 & 2 on/off (with parameters 1/0 respectively)

They've probably implemented their own autopilot. The controls directly assignable in FSUIPC are the built-in P3D ones.

If you enable FSUIPC's event logging (in the Logging Tab), then use the on-screen autopilot button, and check what is logged afterwards, it may (or may not) tell you what control was used.  If it does then you can use that. if not then check the Aerosoft documentation to see if they provide a keyboard shortcut, or the possibility to assign one. Then you can assign your button to that.

Otherwise it will either be a matter for a Mouse Macro, or maybe an ordinary macro to write to a local panel variable (L:Var). But we can discuss that more after you check out the easier options.

Pete

What script is that? If its a Linda script, then you should probably ask in the Linda sub-forum (or whoever/wherever provided the script).

If you require help with FSUIPC, it is better to start a new thread with a full description of the issues you are facing (flight sim? Assigning from/to whatr? ini/log files? etc), rather than hijacking an existing thread.

Cheers,

John
