 Hey y'all, I'm having an issue I have NEVER had before, for some reason FSUIPC will not let me register the program.

 I bought it in 2017 and installed it ONCE, I am now doing a reinstall because I got a new PC and it will not accept my key.

 I have tried to copy and paste, typing it in, you name it, it just says not a valid 12 digit key.

I am copying it from the same email I got with the app.

 

I'm getting this in the log:

All installer tasks completed.
Registration dialog exit: selected  FSUIPC REGISTER
Providing FSUIPC registration dialogue ...
Registration for FSUIPC5 was cancelled or failed! (result code 40)

I'm having the same problem. checked and rechecked name, email, license key. Even copied and pasted from the invoice. Is it possible I was given an invalid key.? I purchased FSUIPC5  on 8 July 2019 and have spent many frustrating days on this. WideFS registered first try using an existing key.  Name and email have never changed.

No, its not - or shouldn't be! Can you PM me you SimMarket purchase email (with your provided key) and I'll check it.

So sorry for the security foulup. I only responded to what John had asked for: (No, its not - or shouldn't be! Can you PM me you SimMarket purchase email (with your provided key) and I'll check it. Note the "with your provided key". I though this was perhaps a mistake as I have read about similar incidents. Pleas accept my sincere apologies and I assure you this will never happen again. John sent me a new key and I will let you know the results. Cut and paste the resuls

I just tried the new key that John provided. No joy.

Could it be:

1. There are some invisible spaces in the name and email?

2.  The use of quotes might somehow be misinterpreted?

I have used this name and email for about 10 years and have never had a problem registering in the past. This is not my first rodeo.

I know it is something stupid on my part and I hope a fresh set of eyes might see through my stupidity. Name and email have never changed

PM means 'Private Message', you posted on a PUBLIC forum!

As John says, PM = Private Message. You can send those by clicking on the addressee's name or icon on the left of his message, then selecting "Message" with the button near the top.

No. Your WideFS key has the same name exactly and that works. Also the replacement key sent works fine. Use cut and paster on all three parts

Bingo!

The new key worked! I cut and pasted what you sent into a blank FSUIPC5.key file. (Did not use the installer). I then, using the installer, re-registered WideFS using my old key. Now they are both recognized. Could it be that the WideFS key was messing things up? 

 

Thank you so much to all of you for taking the time to help me and all the fine work you do. Although I read a lot of forums, I seldom post. I now know what PM means...
