WARNING: Joystick ID 4 is duplicated in Registry causing joystick conflict

In P3Dv5 I cannot have my Saitek Rudder Pedals and my Thrust Master Warthog Joystick working at the same time. At bootup, the pedals are available but not the joystick. If I unplug the pedals the joystick becomes available and works normally. If I reconnect the pedals they do not work and the joystick continues to work.

Both devices are always seen in Windows and work normally in X-Plane and MSFS.

I disconnected them along with the Thrustmaster throttle and uninstalled everything, re-booted, and then re-connected to the same error, only that the error "moved" in that previously it was ID2 that was duplicated and now it is #4. AutoAssignLetters is set to Yes.

It's as though the duplicate pedals entry in the registry somehow has the ID of the joystick? I built this PC 7 months ago and it had a clean Win10 Pro install so it is relatively fresh. it is only used for flight simming with XP, MSFS, & P3D installed. I had not installed P3D until recently only to try and use my PMDG & FS Labs planes. I also have not added or eliminated any hardware since building the PC, so I am confused as to how the duplication could have happened?

It seems to me that the duplication in the registry is probably the root issue. I have searched the registry and have not been able to find the duplication. I fooled around with the fsuipc.ini file trying to force it to no avail. I do not believe I did any harm.

You posted a P3D question in the subforum for FSUIPC7 in MSFS. I've moved it for you. Please always check where you are when posting a support question.

I don't know how the registry has become so messy, but the first thing to try is to renumber the #4 item which has been seen. i.e. change these lines in the INI file

4=Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals
4.GUID={419BB610-5786-11EB-8017-444553540000}

to the next available ID:

6=Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals
6.GUID={419BB610-5786-11EB-8017-444553540000}

FSUIPC will then try to correct the registry. You may need to start P3D more than once for this to take effect properly.

Simply renumbering 4 to 6 didn't work- It automatically changed back to 4. Made several attempts and multiple runs of P3D

It is working now after I moved ALL of the JOYIDs to new, never used positions SEE Screenshot. The files are a mess, showing lots of errors, but it is working. LOL

I don't think I mentioned it in my first post, but I was already using JoyID, and have for years. AND I had tried moving the rudders to a different slot in the order, always keeping them grouped at the top with the lowest ID numbers.

What I did differently this time was move them all at the same time to the bottom.

I have rebooted and started P3D several times and everything continues to work and seems stable, in spite of the errors noted in the files.

Are we done or is there something else I should do? Fundamentally, knowing there are registry errors bothers me, but its working.

I'm not sure why it adds that again, as you don't have any assignments anywhere to a device A. You can try deleting it again, although it may/probably re-appear. Its nothing to worry about.

These are due to some invalid registry entries for both your Razer Tartarus and Orbweaver.
If everything is working. I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you want to try and resolve, you would need to disconnect the devices, remove all the registry entries for those devices and then re-connect and re-install. However, if you did this, your ini may need correcting again (if the GUIDS change), but hopefully not....
