  1. these sub-forums are for feelThere developed product support. i'm assuming you made the above noted product purchase from feelThere. please contact us directly using the following link - http://feelthere.com/productfaq.html --
  2. try and complete uninstall and reinstall. be sure you go though the FS files to assure that all references of the plane are removed after the install before begining the new install.
  3. Jerry: feelThere had nothing to do with the evolution.
  4. did you approve the guages, when FSX prompted, when installing?
  5. what is 'this'? Tower 2011? TRACON 2012? please see forum rules about posting - http://forum.simflight.com/topic/76165-forum-rules-please-read-first/ also, which traffic file are you using? default, or 'real traffic' or shared? --
  6. Q. The displayed distance to/from airports is incorrect. A. MAP! displays distances in kilometers (km) and miles (m) ... not nautical miles (nm). Q. I have the original release version of MAP!. Should I uninstall this before installing MAP! network edition? A. feelThere recommends that you uninstall all prior installations of MAP! (ie, the non-network edition) before using MAP! network edition. Q. The flight time and distance to/from airports is incorrect. A. MAP!'s shown value for flight time and distance are based upon the flightplan loaded into FS's flightplanner. There may be differences between MAP!'s display and predictions shown on an aircraft's primary navigation device. Q. The route the aircraft is going to fly is just a curved line. A. MAP! shows the great circle route between the aircraft icon and destination airport. The sold line following the aircraft icon is the actual route flown. Q. The local departure and arrival times are incorrect. A. MAP! receives local time information from FS. See the Departing and Arrival Airport Timezones section in the manual. Q. The screen showing the aircraft icon over the world map does not display. A. Both the host and client computers must have 2GB of RAM in order to display the world map's large graphic file. Q. I use PMDG aircraft and I can't see the MAP! display. A. Some users of Precision Manuals Development Group (PMDG) aircraft report MAP! displays behind the D2 cockpit panels. If you experience this problem the line of code noted below needs to be added to the MAP! section of the aircraft's panel.cfg: [Window**] background_color=16,16,16 size_mm=600,450 window_size_ratio=1.0 position=2 visible=1 ident=12012 zorder=110 gauge00=EFinfo!FINFO, 0, 0, 600, 450 gauge01=EFinfoH!FPL, -20, 0, 10, 10 gauge02=EFinfoH!FPL2, -20, 10, 10, 10 NOTE: the added code is the zorder line. Q: How do I re-download the product? if you did purchase from feelThere you need to contact BMTmicro with purchase information (date, creditcard, email address) - call 800-414-4268 (USA/Canada) / +1 910-792-9100 (international customers). once you collect your installer burn it to a disk and write the key-code on the disk (top, not the 'read side').
  7. Q. where is the manual? A. OS 'START' menu : All Programs : feelThere : ERJ Q. the autopilot is on, but the ERJ isn't following the flightplan. A. confirm you have set the primary navigation source as FMS on the DCP. if the navigation source is the FMS the indications on the PFD compass rose will be purple. (see manual page 46) Q. when approaching KRDU for landing the FMA displays 'BC', not 'APPR1 ONLY' and autopilot does not follow the glideslope. A. you missed a step on page 75: while approaching Raleigh-Durham International 'Open the MCDU RADIO page. Enter the ILS feq for runway 23R, 111.7, into the SCRATCHPAD and press the LSK 3L to turn radio NAV1.' Q. when passing the TOD point the E-jet doesn't descend. A. you must set the guidance panel ALT knob for the lower altitude to 'allow' the FMS to descent. Q. how do i update the AIRAC database? A. updates can be purchased from navigraph.com. you may also update the AIRAC using the feelThere common database editor available at www.feelthere.com/2005/downloads.html Q. when using the HUD for landing the symbolic runway is not aligned with the airport runway. A. The orientation of the runway indication is dependent on correct ILS course setting, aircraft alignment on the LOC, and the plane's heading. Incorrect settings or aircraft orientation will result in the symbolic runway being miss-aligned with the airport runway. this simulation performance and limition are representative of the real-world E-jet capabilities. Q. where is the paintkit? A. the paintkit will be made available shortly. the release will be announced in the support forum and on feelThere's web-site. NOTE: the paintkit will be released 'as is' and without support. Q. my FS 'frame-rates' aren't so good. A. use the E-jet Configuration Utility to adjust the panel gauges refresh rates and graphics. Q. the co-pilot isn't making callouts during takeoff. A. you must set the v-speeds on the MCDU TAKEOFF page and click the TOGA 'cheat spot' in the guidance panel. Q. APPR1 ONLY appears on the FMA ... what am i doing wrong? A. the E-jet is telling you that you have the aircraft configured for a CAT I ILS landing. see details on the autopilot landing modes beginning on manual page 54. Q. the weather radar isn't working A. #1 - confirm that the MFD is in MAP MODE. for weather to show in the PFD the compass rose must be in arc mode. A. #2 - just because there are clouds doesn't mean there will be rain to be shown by the radar simulation. There is no direct way to collect weather information from FS. the gauge makes assumptions based upon the data available. A. #3 - be sure you have activated the gauge using the Ejet's Configuration Utility Q. the weather radar only shows a test pattern A. the gauge requries the FSUIPC utility. the freeware version, payware version not required, can be downloaded at - http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html be sure to download and install the correct version for your FS. Q. how do i see the VC cabin? A. see manual page 11. Q. 'no flightplan' displays on the MAP! screen even though i programmed the MCDU. A. MAP! does not read the MCDU flightplan. you need to set a flightplan using the FS flightplanner. Only a departure and arrival airport are requred (see manual page 10). Q. the local time information is incorrect on the MAP! screen. A. MAP! uses FS's time engine to display local and Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), also know as Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). FS isn't correct in some situations. See manual page 10 and 11 for solutions. Q. in FSX the aircraft has black/blank screens, even with battery switches on, and black/non-transparent cockpit windows. A. confirm you have installed FSX SP2. the aircraft will not function properly without SP2 installed. Q. how do you adjust the range settings on the MFD? A. put the mouse pointer in MFD and position until the range number in bracketed by "[]". use the mouse-wheel to increase/decrease displayed range. A. using the FS menu: Views->Intrument Panel-> PFD 2 menu. FYI: doing this will allow you to set the NAV2 course. Q. weather radar isn't working in VC view. A. first turn on the radar and let run through the test display before switching to VC. Q. the buttons on the Glareshield Panel/Guidance Panel have no backlighting. A. these buttons being illuminated when ON is an option one must order from Embraer. the aircraft feelThere used when creating the simulation did not have 'button lights'. the selected mode(s) are announced on the FMA above the PFD. Q. the navigation/position, logo, taxi, takeoff lights don't come on. A. the aicraft must be powered by the APU for the external lights to function. OR ... when stopped, parking brakes ON and the GPU powering the aircraft. Q. my panel looks like this: A. you have a faulty or damaged install of FSX's SP1 and/or SP2. Q. can i use FS's default autopilot for altitude hold as mentioned in the manual on page 8? A. no, the reference to the FS autopilot being an option on the Preferences tab of the configuration utility is an error. the FS autopilot cannot be used to control the Ejet. Q: How do I re-download the product? A. if you did purchase from feelThere you need to contact BMTmicro with purchase information (date, creditcard, email address) - call 800-414-4268 (USA/Canada) / +1 910-792-9100 (international customers). once you collect your installer burn it to a disk and write the key-code on the disk (top, not the 'read side').
  9. Q. What is the feelThere LE Level of Simulation? A. Sometimes you just want to fly, or you are new to flight simulation, and don't wish spend 30 minutes preflighting an aircraft. Maybe today you don't want to spend much effort to create a flightplan and programming a flight management computer. feelThere LE aircraft are designed to be detailed enough to immerse you in the simulation experience and quickly get into the air from power-up to takeoff. Many systems are modeled, just not every system. You will find the level of detailed is greater than any flight simulator default aircraft. The systems that are modeled behave correctly; or are only slightly simplified. LE aircraft are designed for fun … which is the point for playing Microsoft's Flight Simulator. Q. Where is the APU start/stop switch/button? A. there is no APU on the Phenom 100. the aircraft is run off battery power or a GPU. the phenom uses only battery/GPU power for engine start. (just like the real aircraft) Q. where is the red beacon switch? A. there is no red beacon switch on the Phenom. when you begin the engine start sequence the red beacon comes on automatically. the red beacon will turn off when both engine start knobs are in the OFF position. (just like the real aircraft) Q. how do i engage engine reverse thrust? A. the Phenom's engines do not have reverse thrust. (just like the real aircraft) Q. how do i change the autopilot's primary navigation source? (ie, go from GPS to NAV1 radio) A. press the PFD's CSI softkey to cycle through the primatry navigation source modes. Q. how do i make the PFDs and MFD screens larger? A. The main panel screens can be enlarged by a right-mouse-button click. To reduce the display click again with a right-mouse-button. Q. how to i program VNAV information into the FMS? A. the Phenom is a 'LE' product and does not simulate all systems. Please review the manual sections that cover the use of the FLC, ALT, VS and VNAV autopilot buttons on how to use aircraft's vertical navigation modes. Q. i use FSX and the plane is black and the panel doesn't correctly display. A. the Phenom requires that FSX is updated to SP2. the Phenom will not work correctly unless FSX sp1 & sp2 are installed. Q. How do i use/program the FMS/GPS? A. the Phenom is a 'LE' product and does not simulate all systems. The aircraft is programmed to use the default FS GPS to simulate a limited FMS. please review the manual for information about the interface between the panel and the FS GPS. for more information about the default GPS see the FS 'LEARNING CENTER'. Q. I can't enter a new waypoint into the flightplan using the FMC's keypad. A. the Phenom is a 'LE' product and does not simulate all systems. The aircraft is programmed to use the default FS GPS to simulate a limited FMS. please review the manual for information about the interface between the panel and the FS GPS. for more information about the default GPS see the FS 'LEARNING CENTER'. Q. how do i silence the 'caution/warning' alarm? A. press the PFD's far right softkey. Q. during takeoff the co-pilot doesn't say 'V1, rotate, etc.' A. after setting the takeoff v-speed on the PFD, and just prior to taking off you must press the 'cheat button' on the glareshield (the silver speaker grill just above the autopilot's ALT button). Q. when i resize the MFD display the map size isn't changed. A. this is a limitation of the FS default GPS. once you re-size the MFD you then need to resize the GPS map display. Q. where is the autobrakes knob? A. the Phenom doesn't have autobrakes. (just like the real aircraft) Q. where are the spoiler controls? A. the Phenom doesn't have spoilers. (just like the real aircraft) Q. there are no liveries with aircraft registration numbers. A. the registration numbers were removed because of copyright concerns.
  10. NOTICE: All suspected 'bug' reports must be reproducible. please outline the steps EXACTLY so that feelThere can duplicate the fault. For details on submitting a suspected 'bug' see this thread - http://forum.iemit.com/Default.aspx?g=posts&m=30888 Q: I just got the game and hitting the START button wont start the game A: You must select a runway in order to start the simulator Q. The game crashes or freezes during startup. A. You must have you computer set to use English (US). For additional details see - http://forum.iemit.com/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=5534 Q. There is no sound when aircraft pilot's contact tower or read-back commands. the text shows in the Command Screen, and the games works ... just no sound. A.For the virtual pilots to speak you must have Creative Labs openAL installed. Many operating systems come pre-installed with this utility. To check go to your computer's control panel and look Speech. Open the application and confirm that you have a Text To Speech tab. If you don't have openAL, download the OpenAL Installer for Windows (filename: oalinst, 577K) - http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/Downloads/Forms/AllItems.aspx Q. All the AI pilots say is, "Bla bla bla bla." A. You have selected a voice that is not correctly configured. Choose a different voice option on your computer's Speech control panel. Q. I have a microphone but TOWER! will not recognize my voice and issue commands to the planes. A. Microsoft Speech application programming interface (API) is required if you want to command the virtual pilots using the game's voice recognition system. Some winXP, many VISTA, almost all win7 operating systems come with Speech pre-installed. To check go to your computer's control panel and look for Speech. Open the application and confirm that you have tab for Speech Recognition. If you don't have Speech API, download and install SpeechSDK51.exe (68.0MB) - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=5E86EC97-40A7-453F-B0EE-6583171B4530 Q. I have microsoft's SPEECH SDK installed, but the game doesn't recognize me commands. A. It is recommended that you train the speech recognition engine at least three times. SPEECH can be trained multiple times. the more you train the utility the better it becomes at understanding your voice. The manual contains www-links to detailed instructions on installing and training SPEECH. REMINDER: TOWER only recognizes English, the international language of traffic control. Q. I have trained the SPEECH SDK and Tower! 2011 still does not recognize my command. A. You must have you computer set to use English (US). For additional details see - http://forum.iemit.com/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=5534 Q. I use the shortcut keystrokes to issue commands and the AI pilots keep saying 'unable' or 'say again'. A. Check the following - are you entering a space between all command words? bad code: FRT123 AFTER DEPARTURE FLY HEADING 250DEGRESS CLEARED FOR TAKEOFF. <-note there is no space between 250 and DEGREES you are sending an instruction that the the AI pilot cannot perform. ie. plane landing at KLAX - FRT456 CHANGE TO RUNWAY 24 LEFT when the pilot is approaching to land on runways 25.
