Played for a few hours, still 0 "successful takeoffs/landings"?

By the way, could you remind us again when that will be? -
1. I'm still trying to get my head around this. Sounds almost like the Pro version will represent an entirely separate product line. That is to say, that not only will the basic version lack some features of the Pro version, but that the Pro version will also lack some features of the basic version. Please clarify further. 2. Could you give us an example of the sorts of commands that were stripped from Tower!2011 for the basic version of Tower!3D? For example I see from the marketing material that the basic version will include things like changing runways and takeoffs from intersections, which is great. However, what kinds of things will we not be able to do? Speaking for myself, voice control is not something that I care about. I do, however, care very much about micromanaging every aspect of the traffic. Purely in terms of traffic micromanagement, will the Pro version have a large number of additional features, or just a few small ones? 3. How do you expect add-on airports to work in basic Tower 3D versus the Pro version? Let's say I buy the basic version of Tower!3D, and then later buy an addo-on airport for it. When the Pro version is released, will the add-on airport I already bought for the basic version also work with the Pro version, or would I have to buy a new version of it? 4. I am sorry to keep hitting you with tricky questions, but I think it is a very valid concern for the customer trying to decide whether to buy the basic version at release, or to wait for the Pro version. I am very enthusiastic about the upcoming release, but if financially committing to one product line will penalize me if I later decide that I want to buy into the other one, then it gives me hesitation to buy either one until both have been released and I can compare the full feature lists side by side to see which is right for me. The more information and assurances in that regard that you give now, the more likely it is that more of us will buy the basic version at release. Andrew

I couldn't agree more with you there. You may recall that there was a discussion of this just before the old thread was removed. Vic sounded like he was thinking seriously about it, and was generally amenable to some form of this concept, as long as there was a short time limit on making use of the discount. Hopefully, he will follow through for us. Ideally, the discount should be equal to the price of the basic version subtracted from the price of the pro version. Otherwise, I suspect that many of us diehards will wait for the release of the Pro version before making any decision on which one to buy, which would hurt initial sales. One other point that is very important to me, is that the platform should be open to user modifications of the traffic system, like what Dick Parker has done for Tower 2011. His efforts have gone a long ways toward making the longevity and enjoyability of that program what it is. Andrew

If I recall from Vics statements earlier, the ones that were deleted, the voice command is something that will come in the Pro version. Something I am curious about is whether the Pro version will simply have multi-player and voice command, or whether it will have a whole host of other more realistic functions? Moreover, will the pro version also include mouse control too, or will it be totally dependent on voice control? Only time will tell.

What did you see that tipped you off? Went back again and did not spot it.
