  1. Have you asked over at the AVSIM PMDG forums as I'm sure this is a bug or feature of the aircraft.
  2. Here are the relevant sections from my FSUIPC.ini along with a sample profile for GA aircraft, hopefully it will help you understand what is going on. 3. Make sure your system clock is correct, it may be wrong, if your system date is previous to the date that your purchased FSUIPC then the key wont work. I've also heard that in some rare cases time zones can come into effect too, if this is the cause you will probably find that tomorrow the registration will work fine.
  4. Sorry this isn't what you want to hear but FSUIPC cant do anything with them as it has no way of seeing the buttons presses and dial turns because Saitek uses a propriety system (driver) to connect via Simconnect, this is also why you cant use it in FS2004 as Simconnect doesn't exist for it. In short you can only use the Saitek hardware in FSX and in default aircraft or 3rd party aircraft that use default Simconnect functions.
  5. Those devices use Simconnect and only work with default aircraft or third party aircraft that use the default MSFS controls. FSUIPC isn't going to be able to help you as you have already found out because FSUIPC cant even see any of the buttons and dials on the Saitek hardware. If you go to the official Saitek forums I think you will find my understanding of the subject will be confirmed by people there.
  6. So so true. What's even more irritating is when you have one of those flights where everything goes perfectly one day and you come away from the PC thinking it cant get any better than this, then the next day or even later on the same day sometimes FSX runs like a dog and you feel like jacking it all in and throwing the bloody thing out the window
  7. If you read the FSUIPC manual and actually use just a few of the myriad of things that FSUIPC can do you will soon come to the conclusion that the £20 you spent on FSUIPC is the best money you ever spent on MSFS.
  8. Wouldn't you be better using the jog wheel to change frequencies, and the buttons to select the unit the jog wheel should change i.e. Nav1 Whole, Nav1 Fractions etc.
  9. Have you actually tried to use the ones that you have found, I'm sure they will do what you require, they are just named slightly different than how Pete remembers them.
  10. Unfortunately often email verification isn't enough anymore, spam bots are now very proficient at reading some of the older captcha's out there. On the forums I run admin has to activate the account and moderate the first post a new member makes too, its the only way you can stop the scum bags that sit in sweat shops all day doing this kind of thing, yes unfortunately spammers have sunk to those depths now.
  11. I did say as far as I was aware, I could be wrong and probably am in this instance. You would be far better asking about this at the Saitek forums as its most likely to be a problem with their software rather than FSUIPC. As you may have noticed Pete is away until 14th Dec and will be unable to answer your questions until that time.
  12. As far as I am aware Saitek have always used Simconnect not FSUIPC to connect to FSX and many Saitek customers complain about this as it limits them greatly on how they can use the hardware, it also precludes them from using the hardware in FS9 as there is no such thing as Simconnect for FS2004.
  13. Imagine what its like for me then at 40
  14. Guenter I thought you would have realised by now that there is no such thing as LuaVars. Lua is a programming language as you know, and L:Vars is short name for 'Local Variables', they are two completely different things, try not to confuse your pupils anymore than absolutely necessary otherwise everyone will be doing it
  15. Install with the main installer package from here http://www.schiratti.com/files/dowson/Famp=280809 Then manually copy the files inside the archive below to your fsx/modules folder. http://fsuipc.simflight.com/beta/FSUIPC4552.zip
  16. It's inside the installer Pete, there is no other way to get it as far as I know sorry. Let me send you a link to zip version of the installed folder to give you an idea so you dont have to install. I'll email you a link to it when I'm done.
  17. That's excellent news Pete I thought they would send you some hardware now that you have finally managed to make contact with them. The way it currently works you can turn button presses on the panels hardware to keystrokes if you wish, but the software also allows you to emulate mouse interactions with 2D panels too, the biggest downside with this method though is the panel has to be in view for the commands to function, its not like your mouse macros at all. Some of the functions on the panels can send two different commands on the one button, for example the push function on some of the dials can have two different commands assigned to them, but they will always cycle from one to the other function, they appear as push 1 and push 2 in the assigning software. The link below will download the latest software package, if you take a look at the MCP combo key mapper program you will get a better idea what I mean. http://vrinsight.com/download/setup_no_doc.exe EDIT: yes I think the keytrokes are made in the driver/software, there is an SDK but it is beyond my undesrtanding I'm afraid, I think there are some examples included in one of the versions of the software even if its not included in this latest download shown above.
  18. I got your PM Pete about VRInsight and I replied via email because you have PM's disabled for obvious reasons.
  19. No problem Pete, thanks for replying though.
  20. I want to get one of those too eventually, I was kinda hoping that VRInsight would bring out a switch panel of some kind at the FSWeekend but I haven't heard anything. Pete did VRInsight announce any new products at the show do you know?
  21. Oh they will get back to you Pete, I'll keep badgering them until they do, I'd appreciate a PM when they finally do so I know when to stop :D I moderate the forums for them and do quite a bit of support for them too, so if they don't get in contact I will have to stop supporting them
  22. Are you saying that any developer that uses FSUIPC to simply connect to FS through FSUIPC has to pay a licence? They aren't doing anything fancy as far as I know. For example you turn a HDG dial on a VRI panel and it sends HDG_INC to FS9 or FSX when using default aircraft etc, do they have to pay for this? The registered version of FSUIPC is not required to use any VRInsight hardware at all, although I personally recommend it to users at the VRInsight forum for mouse macro's etc with advanced third party aircraft that don't use the default AP system.
