  1. According to the info I have, Windows 7 Starter can join, but not create, home groups, so it must have some form of networking. I'm not sure, however, how much. According to the MS advertising gumph it is designed for Netbooks, which would imply having at least WiFi compatibility, otherwise you'd never be able to get anything installed on it! Ian P.
  2. It's also worth remembering that if you get the plain black screen when re-selecting FSX after alt-tabbing out, for most people, simply pressing the 'enter' key when the black screen is visible will put you back into the sim. Ian P.
  3. I'm not an expert on iToys and programming for them, so wasn't sure whether the coding would be the same or not. Thanks! Ian P.
  4. FSUIPC4 is for FSX only and does not work with FS9 - you would need a seperate FSUIPC3 license (here: http://secure.simmarket.com/pete-dowson-fsuipc3.phtml) for use with FS9. Ian P.
  5. Hello, There are other people far better placed to explain this, as I am a total beginner at LUA. As I discovered earlier when trying to convert an English phrase to German, Google Translate is... "limited" at times! I hope your questions can be resolved fairly easily, at least. Best regards, Ian P.
  6. I can't answer the question, but can clean up the html... ;) I'd suggest it was probably copied from another forum's response box, from the coding. Also, it is correct that FeelThere use next to no default code for their autopilots (thankfully!) - A job for LUA maybe? Ian P.
  7. Hello, What version of FS are you running? 'Out of the box', SP1, SP2 or Acceleration? Also, what version number of FSUIPC do you now have installed? Did you install the base 4.7 package and then update it using the module from the downloads thread here? Next one, inside the sim, do you have an "Addons" drop down menu, with an FSUIPC entry inside it? Last but not least, do you have an FSUIPC Install log in your [FSX]/modules directory? If so, can you post its contents here, please, so Pete can see whether it installed correctly? All the best, Ian P.
  8. It'll be the hover gauge by Rob Barendrecht (which I probably just spelt wrong again), Pete. I think, although I'm not 100% sure and I'm not at my FS PC to check, that the system uses FSUIPC to talk to the aircraft, as Rob has basically programmed an entirely new flight model outside the sim, which is controlled by a gauge. I'll have a look at what the requirements are and how it works when I get back onto my main box rather than the notebook. Ian P.
  9. Tomorrow, apparently! http://forum.simflight.com/topic/69124-pete-dowson-is-away-until-28th-august-2011/ Hopefully he'll be back online and able to help on Monday. Cheers, Ian P.
  10. The only installer is for 4.7, Mark. 4.726 is just the .dll file. This'll have to wait until Pete gets back I'm afraid. There's not a lot else I can suggest. Sorry. Ian P.
  11. Hi Mark, It's a Windows option rather than FSUIPC. If you right click the exe file, there should be an option to "Run as Administrator". Click that to do what it says on the can. Ian P.
  12. Hmm. It's obviously not the usual one then. Unfortunately I'm not really support for FSUIPC, but Pete is away at the moment, so will not be able to answer this until he returns. The other two options I can think of offhand are both related to the way MS changed the security settings on Windows recently: Did you install FSUIPC using the "Run as Administrator" option? If not, please try that. Where is your FSX installed? C:\Program Files\... , C:\Program Files (x86)\... , or outside the Program Files folders? What OS and version of FSX (SP1? SP2? Accel?) are you running? I'm not asking you to reinstall FSX, but that's useful information for Peter when he returns in case installing as Administrator doesn't help. Ian P.
  13. Try downloading the updated module (4.726 at the time of writing) from the following thread: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/ The fixes included might not resolve your problem, but it's always a good starting point. Best regards, Ian P.
  14. Hi Peter, Inside FSX you should have an "Add-ons" drop down at the end of the list, which contains a sub-option of "FSUIPC". That's the quick way. LINDA does look very useful indeed, but it doesn't support my little VRi M-Panel yet, so isn't much use to me... ;) Cheers, Ian P.
  15. Have you tried downloading the latest version of FSUIPC from this thread: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/ ? There was a "security" change made to Windows 7 a while ago that has caused a lot of problems with FSX add-ons including FSUIPC. Therefore installing the latest version with Pete's latest set of fixes may well help. Not guaranteed, but it's a good starting point. Ian P.
  16. SimConnect is a pain in the backside to fix. :( Sometimes you can recover that with a full uninstall and reinstall of FSX, sometimes you can fix it by just reinstalling SimConnect from the FSX disks. The worst case I've seen, someone had to reinstall Windows to get the thing working! The first course of action would be to try and reinstall SimConnect directly. What version of FSX do you have? Ian P.
  17. You're welcome and yes, this is the right place to ask for help if you need it! Unfortunately Pete Dowson (FSUIPC's developer and only official support person) is away at the moment for about another week. Hopefully those of us around in the meantime will be able to help you with any issues you have in the meantime. Please do let us know that everything worked and if you do need further help, either add it to this thread or start another one in this support forum. Cheers, Ian P.
  18. Hello Peter, Well, first of all, I've moved your post from the FAQ area, where Pete probably wouldn't see it even if he weren't on hoilday, to the main support area. To answer some of your questions, no you don't need a degree to install and use FSUIPC. How complex it is depends on what you want to do with it, however you can investigate that yourself by simply installing it (it's a standard .exe installer which puts everything where you need it) and looking at the user guide to see what you need to do. If you aren't actually planning on setting up controllers in FSUIPC or programming in LUA, for example, then that't it. FSUIPC will sit there and act as an interface without you needing to do anything more. You only need to register it and pay if you want to use more of its functionality (which is very powerful) or to run LUA scripts or WideFS. You don't need to register it to install it though and that provides you with all the documentation. Simply download it from http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html then read the installation guide and run the .exe file. All the best, Ian P.
  19. Hi again, jetster. No, the keys haven't changed. Provided you enter the information exactly as it was when purchased, it will still work. I've had mine pretty much since FSUIPC4 was released as well! Thanks Andy. Ian P.
  20. Hello jetster. The most common reasons an FSUIPC key would not work are: 1) It's the wrong key (FSUIPC3 key trying to be used in FSUIPC4, for example). 2) You're not entering the information exactly as per the order. Can you try copying and pasting it directly from the your order information at simMarket, in case you made a typo somewhere, please? If those don't answer the issue, then I'm sure Pete will be along shortly to offer more advice. Ian P.
  21. I might be able to if someone can suggest an appropriate title? If not, I'll ask the Big Boss if he can. Ian P. Forum Admin (P.S.: I have no idea what happened to the previous topic either, sorry!)
  22. 737PIC is a Wilco/FeelThere product. As Pete says, you are probably best contacting their support directly. http://www.wilcopub.com Ian P.
  23. Hello Harold, Your registration for FSUIPC will not 'time out' or stop working for any reason except a change of major version (i.e. an FSUIPC3 registration cannot be used for FSUIPC4). If you copy and paste the details exactly as per your orginal registration then it will work fine. Please note that your details must be exactly the same - use your old e-mail address, not your new one. It is only used to identify you, not to communicate with you, so if the address is no longer valid, that isn't a problem. I've deleted your e-mail addresses from the post above as these forums are scanned by spam bots, the same as all are, and we really don't want to be responsible for you getting lots of ads for illegal software and dodgy medications! Therefore, if you need to send them to Pete at any time, please use e-mail rather than posting them on the public forum. Thanks! Best regards, Ian P.
