  1. if you run a new FSUIPC installer, it will overwrite files with the new versions, while leaving those that don't need to be updated intact. You can just run the new installer over your old installation - then it's also worth checking the "downloads" folder on this forum, as Pete has usually released a number of interim releases between major versions! Cheers, Ian P.
  2. Traffic can be particularly bad if you have some of the FS9 freeware traffic installed such as ProjectAI or Military AI Works. For some reason, having either installed made a massive difference to my load times, which isn't replicated by having a far larger number of traffic models and liveries installed now with MyTrafficX. I've never tried replacement autogen files to know if they make any difference, but the load time was reduced massively when I deleted the MAIW files. Ian P.
  3. Simply delete FSUIPC.dll from FSX\modules. That's all you need to do to remove it. There's also a documentation folder and the configuration file (FSUIPC.ini) but those can remain without causing any problems if you want to reinstall it later. However why do you want to uninstall it? Are you sure that nothing else you have installed requires it to work? Ian P.
  4. The "Watch Topic", or "Watch Forum" buttons at the top right corner will e-mail you on your registered address when a new post is made on the topic or forum as appropriate. Cheers, Ian P.
  5. Hi Jack, Post moved from download links forum to main support forum. This problem is invariably caused by a minor typo or other error (copying and pasting a space?) I would strongly recommend logging in to your simMarket account and copying the registration information from the "my products" section there. Ian P.
  6. There should be a tick box, I believe on the assignments page, for each axis. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to check exactly where right now, sorry. I know, however, that I had to use it to assign toe brakes correctly so the option is there. Ian P.
  7. Hello, You can purchase a license from simMarket here: http://secure.simmarket.com/pete-dowson-fsuipc4.phtml Cheers, Ian P.
  8. Yes. FSUIPC keys are not tied to an individual computer or hardware, only to the user details you have registered. Therefore if you change your computer or the hardware inside, or if you reformat/rebuild your operating system, you can use the same details you registered with originally to reinstall FSUIPC. Cheers, Ian P.
  9. The forum database fell over. It has now been repaired and is (we hope!) fully operational. At least I can't find any errors...

  10. Through his forum Ian, it's in the Product Support section down a little.

  11. Glad you got it working... Although unfortunately I can't help with exactly what the problem is/was. When Pete comes back, if he doesn't see this thread and respond anyway, it might be worth bumping it back up to get a better and more complete answer from him. Now you can relax and fly for a while anyway! Cheers, Ian P.
  12. Hi Mike, The reason I specifically suggested taking it from simMarket is because Word, Wordpad, OpenOffice Writer and suchlike add control characters in which, although you can't see them normally, can mess up what you are actually inputting as your information to the registration page. simMarket's "My Products" page lists them in a code box that is specifically ASCII only to avoid these errors, hence that being the best place to get them from and guarantee that they are error free. The other thing you could try is copying yours from Word into Windows Notepad (not Wordpad, specifically an ASCII only text editor) which will remove any control code and then copying and pasting from there, but that doesn't rule out any errors that were transposed into the Word file when you created it. As I said before, FSUIPC keys don't time out, they aren't machine specific (I've transferred mine numerous times) so if you are having a problem, it's not because the key is no longer valid. Unfortunately Pete is away at the moment (there's an announcement at the top of the forum that says when he'll be back - I can't view multiple windows from the mobile browser, sorry!) but beyond that I'm afraid you'll have to get more support from him when he gets back. Cheers, Ian P.
  13. Try renaming (don't delete at this point) FSUIPC.ini and allowing it to be rebuilt (which will clear all settings). If that doesn't make any difference, then it is something outside FSUIPC that is causing the problem. Cheers, Ian P.
  14. Somewhere, you have a button set to repeat constantly even when deselected. Can you look and make sure that you haven't programmed both "on press" and "on release" for your hat switch to "view pan down"? I actually use FSX to program just my hat switch, when every other button on my full control rig is assigned using FSUIPC. I can't remember why now, but it works! Ian P.
  15. Something in the details you are entering must be wrong, because codes for FSUIPC don't "time out" and are not machine specific. Have you tried copying and pasting them again from your simMarket account and ensuring there are no extra spaces or anything similar at the start or end? Ian P.
  16. Would that be the one from Mars, Jupiter, Xxythzz or just Led Zeppelin, Lawgiver? ;)

  17. Just for info, Pete, the B767 and B757, along with some other aircraft, have an "EPR" autothrottle function that basically programs the auto throttle to run at maximum EPR value until told otherwise. Ian P.
  18. Yes. Using a registered version of FSUIPC, you can change the settings by which the wind and pressure can change to x number of degrees/units per second or x number of seconds per degree/unit. Others' opinions may vary, but I believe that is one of the most useful things Pete has ever added to the sim. ;) Ian P.
  19. If you log into your account at simMarket and click on "my products" in the sidebar, you will see an entry for FSUIPC. Your registrations details will be there. Edit: Cross-posted with Pete. ;) Ian P.
  20. Hello, Pete is away at the moment, but what you want is not something that FSUIPC does, or is likely to do I suspect - it's simply outside the scope of the software. FSUIPC is an interface between flight simulator and applications outside the sim which, when registered, allows you to also control the way the sim works. Why are you trying to extract the ICAO identifiers? What do you want to do with them? The reason I ask is that there are a lot of tools out there already that search FS for airports and list them by ICAO code, so if that's all you want to do, I suggest checking http://www.fsdeveloper.com and seeing whether a tool to do what you want already exists. Cheers, Ian P.
  21. Are you running FSX at the same time on the other PC? WideFS will not connect until FSX is running. Ian P.
  22. Moved from download links to support forum. Ian P.
  23. The manufacturer will (usually!) provide a driver and configuration tool if the device is non-standard, Jack. Have you checked their site? Ian P.
  24. There are repaints on their site, lao. Have you found those? They're linked from the product page for each aircraft.

  25. Don't panic Steve, it's just always best when someone is the developer of software if they say so at the outset... It prevents problems later if someone starts asking questions and throwing around accusations of impropriety (which happens quite a lot in this hobby/industry). Ian P.
