  1. Kev Thank you for your input. That makes sense and probably helps explain why many times my computer does start to get a little noisy when using the game. My only concern with getting a new computer too soon is that I want to ensure I get one that will handle at least the recommended game requirements for the new Tower!XX (whatever they will be). I don’t need a real high power machine as I’m not a gamer (I'm a simulator type of guy), but I do want to be able to enjoy all the aspects of the new simulation. However, I know that this topic is also for another or future thread. Ron
  2. I tried what you suggested. It worked for the ADIRS, but I was still only getting the blank task bar window for the Strips (I’m assuming this is a registry problem again); I didn’t try it with the DBRITE since it is apparently displaying properly. I think I’ve/we’ve all sent enough time on my issue for now. Sounds like the bottom line for me is to get a new computer (I’m saving my pennies). I’ll continue using the game as I have it setup now and maybe play around with the dual monitor issue later now that I have a better understanding of what is going on, how things work and your registry reset tool. The way I see it, the worst case scenario for me until I get a new computer is winding up with only a single monitor capability (which I’ve basically already have had for about 8 months). I also want to thank all the contributors for their comments, efforts and ideas in trying to help me solve this issue and for providing me a better understanding on the inter-workings of the game.
  3. Thank you for the effort you put in trying to help me. It does help me understand the situation better. I’ll give what you suggested a try. Can I try doing this for just the Strips and ADIRS windows since my DBRITE window appears to be transferring to the second monitor OK (I don't want to jeopardize something that appears to be working properly and assuming it will continue to do so)? Also, would it be better to totally close the two other windows that I’m not trying to work on? I also have two other dual monitor related questions that are probably related to the age of my CPU more than anything else: 1. I was playing the simulation yesterday with the DBRITE on the secondary monitor and after about an hour its window would totally close. I reopened it on the primary monitor using the control panel and then transferred it to the second monitor. That lasted for about 3 minutes then the DBRITE window closed again and I had to repeat the same procedure. After the third time this happened, I decided to exit out of the game (it was bedtime anyway). Could this also be related to my older CPU and its interaction with the game? 2. Could my old aged CPU also be the cause or a contributing factor causing the control panel game clock to slow down when one of the windows is opened on the second monitor (the game clock already loses about 4 to 5 seconds per minute of real time when all three windows are open on the primary monitor)? The DBRITE and Strip windows slow the clock down a little when opened on the second monitor; however, it appears that that ADIRS window slows the clock down even more.
  4. Thank you for the education. You can now probably expect to see more forum participation by me. I’ve been a member for over 6 years, but for the most part I’ve been quietly monitoring it and gaining a lot of useful information, schedules and tools. Good to know about the double posts; I assume that they are what I’ve done a couple of times and you did above (i.e., don’t send two posts in a row to the same individual without first having another post for that individual or someone else. I don't want to be a bad boy (LOL). Having said that: I used the remove setting.reg tool. It definitely resets everything to initial install including your points rests them to zero). initial results were inconsistent. The first time that I minimized the window (used the single monitor screen icon on the windows’ top bar) worked on my primary monitor. I was even able to move the windows over to the second monitor. However, I was having problems resizing the window. After I closed the windows, I tried minimizing them again on my primary monitor and just got the blank window icons again on the task bar. I re-ran the settings tool and this time the windows minimized on the primary monitor. I closed them and tried again on the primary monitor; however, this time they all went to blank window icons on the taskbar ribbon. I tried the settings.reg tool a third time and got the same results minimized correctly the first try and blank task bar windows the second time. On the previous second and third attempts I did not try any windows resizing. I tried one more time running the tool; this time all three windows initially minimized on the primary monitor. Then I tried putting the DBRITE on the second monitor; it worked! However, I then resized my strip window on the main monitor and then tried to minimize it on the main monitor; I got a blank strip window icon on the task bar. Then I tried the ADIRS window it appears to work on both monitors, but if try resizing it to fit on the second monitor it goes away (no minimized task bar window icon) and I have to bring it back up using the control panel. Does this give you or anybody else any ideas as to what is going on here? For me with my somewhat limited tech knowledge this is becoming a real head scratcher.
  5. EliGrim: Thank you for the education. So just to reconfirm, I don’t have to reinstall the game after I run the remove setting .reg; therefore, the next time I start the game everything in the program should go back to the first time ever installed defaults. Also I’m still trying to learn how to navigate around this forum (I’d like to get more involved in the topics/discussions, not so much from the technical side (as you can probably tell I’m not most savvy guy about that) but from the controller/user simulation side (I’m a retired 26 year experienced Air Force controller – though that was a long time ago). The thing I don’t know how to do is how to address a response to specific individuals like you and DeltaVII were just doing (i.e. what do you have to do to get the “@DeltaVII” that is highlighted in blue at the start of your entry. I’m sure it is a simple process I’m just don’t know how to do it.
  6. Wow! A lot of update numbers. Haven’t had any recent printer issues so I guess I dodge the bullet on that one.
  7. DeltaVII, I’m not sure I know what the new Edge icon looks like. I use Chrome as my primary internet browser and Edge as my secondary. My Edge shortcut icon is still the blue small “e” (been that way since 2018). I ran a search for “Edge” on my “C” drive and found all kinds of items; many of them in the 2020 time frame. Do you know when the latest Edge version change occurred? I believe my DBRITE issue started in the latter part of 2019 and the other two windows earlier this year.
  8. Thank you. I'll give it a try. I was wondering why very time I re-installed the game that all the airports I had set up came back in the same configuration after I had already uninstalled the game. I'm not that familiar how registries work (but I don't mind learning new things).
  9. Thank you for the reply. That's above my knowledge level to answer. However, the monitor it replaced was a pretty old Dell 19" which I had no issues with. I believe I was having the initial issue before I got the new monitor just can't remember for sure). Also, it seems to me that if I'm getting the same blank window icon results on my main monitor that the problem may lie elsewhere (however again this is above my knowledge/expertise level).
  10. Not sure how to reply to each of you individually if there is another post or more after your's before I have a chance to respond (I haven't really learn the ins and outs for working a forum (this is the first one I've ever participated in). It would be greatly appreciated if someone would tell/show me how (I hate having to learn by just trial and error as indicated above). Therefore, I'm replying to all of your posts in a single post for now. Reply to Scoobflight: Thank you for your input. I haven’t changed my operating system, just letting Windows 10 update itself. No change to video card. It’s an older one, but it was handling the dual monitors ok before the issues started (however, using the second monitor did slow down the game clock speed to a point where I could only have one window open on the monitor and still run a somewhat real time game clock speed which was usually the DBRITE window). Only new software I’ve added was CCleaner, which I usually run once a month. Only new hardware added was my new plug & play LG HD monitor (I can’t remember for sure but I think I was having the initial DBRITE issue before I got the monitor last Christmas). I’ve had the same free Advast anti-virus software for years. As far as I know, I’ve not intentionally changed a setting on it; I just run the provided update. I’ve also tried downloading, installing and playing the simulation with the Avast disabled getting the same issues. Reply to hexzed: Thank you for your input. As far as I know I’ve not added any third party software to the game, just CCleaner to my computer. Reply to DeltaVII: Thank you for your input. I admit I’m not most computer savvy person; therefore, I need a simpler explanation of what/how you did. Especially for the part of ”I resized them while they were just game-internal. Then I unlocked them”? Reply to WildCard (7/10/20): I want to try the remove setting file included in your post. But before I do, I’d like to know what this will actually do to my current installed T3DP program. I’m assuming all extension and airfield folders/files will be unaffected (however I’ll be backing them up first anyway). Will I have to reinstall the game again and if not will there any noticeable differences or things I’ll need to do after the file is ran to have the game run the way it was before I ran the file? Forgive me but not being the most computer savvy individual I get a little nervous going into the unknown (for me) when comes to dealing with my computer or its programs (I like to know what to expect before I do it). Also, you’re correct; I never checked it on my primary monitor. I’m assuming what you mean by getting it to work on the same monitor you talking about my primary monitor. If so, it doesn’t work. When I hit the single screen icon on each of the three windows top bar it does the same thing as when I push the dual screen icon (gray, blank windows on the task bar). When I turn the windows back on using the command panel all three windows will display on the monitor; however, the blank window icons still remain on the task bar.
  11. Thank you for your input. I haven’t changed my operating system, just letting Windows 10 update itself. No change to video card. 12. EliGrim, thank you for your input. By the way it sounds FeelThere or maybe a very savvy forum member may be the only I hope I have for solving this issue. I guess I should have asked for help when only the DBRITE was having the issue (you know what they say about hindsight). I’m also having some difficulty understanding why I didn’t have any issues for at least a year or so of using dual monitors and then all of a sudden the issue started with the DBRITE and later manifested itself into the other two windows, especially since I’ve re-downloaded and reinstalled the game numerous times since the issues first started. I’d also like to add that I really like and appreciate your schedule builder and the other associated tools you’ve created as well as your forum inputs. So far you’ve hit all the airports I have except for DFW in your schedule builder. Keep up the good work.
  13. WildCard, thank you for your response. I tried what you suggested. “Restore” was not clickable. “Move” worked until I tried dropping (left click) the small border outline only title bar on the screen. The title bar will fill in momentarily with what appears to be the T3DP logo along with the minimize, maximize and exit symbols. This window lasts for about one second and then goes away. I tried this numerous times with the DBRITE and also with the Strips and ADIRS getting same results for all. Also, when I try to send the DBRITE or the other two windows to the second monitor I will get this same looking small title bar on primary monitor’s screen for about one second, followed by a split-second full blue screen which is then followed by the empty window in the task bar. Anymore suggestions on what to try or what may be causing the problem.
  14. If so I don’t know how. I did find the history of the Window 10’s updates to my computer. It appears the initial version 1903 “Feature Installation” was installed on 9-29-19. Since then there have been “Quality” cumulative updates installed each month after that along with numerous security, .NET Framework and other feature updates. I don’t have the slightest idea what the updates specifically included or how they may have affected my computer. I suppose it is possible that my DBrite dual monitor issue could have started about the time of the initial version 1903 installation and possibly later spread to the strips and ADIRS windows after one of the monthly cumulative updates. I’m assuming that most other Window 10 users got the same updates as I did, but apparently I’m the only one reporting to have this issue using dual monitors. I’ve reached the limit of my knowledge on this subject, so I’m hoping that maybe you or some else in the forum may be able to help me solve this issue.
  15. I use the “Vacate runway right onto taxiway WK, WL or WM” (take your choice) command and have no problem with cargo aircraft landing RWY 18R exiting to the right; however, you must give the command before you get the message that the aircraft has landed. Also, I tell aircraft landing on RWY 17C to “Vacate runway left onto taxiway P2” (this is also what the DFW arrival ATIS instruct the 17C arrivals to do). After they exit I tell them to ‘Taxi to ramp via P, ES, JS, A, K (I use K as my primary east side taxiway). It seems to work most of the time and takes the arrivals around RWY 17R (no need to worry about interrupting the flow of departures to get arrivals across 17R). Unfortunately this only works for the east side terminal complex (at least for me anyway). If the 17C arrival is going to west side terminal complex, I instruct it to exit at taxiway M6 and then to “Taxi to ramp via M, B, G" (my primary west side taxiway); unfortunately these arrivals do have to cross 17R. I hope this helps.
  16. Most likely yes (or could be) to both questions; however, unfortunately, I don’t remember the dates when both my dual monitor issue started or if both issues started right after an update. I normally restart my computer every couple of weeks and a lot of the time there seems to be some kind of update when I do, but I don’t keep track of such or if there were any noticeable changes in any of my programs after the update.
  17. Thought I’d jump on this thread as I’m currently having problems/issues using a second monitor. Up to about 3 month ago I had no problem displaying the strips, ADIRS and DBrite on my second monitor. Then my DBrite started not to show up on the second monitor, while the DBrite would disappear from my main monitor (as it should) and a window icon for the DBrite would show up on the ribbon at the bottom of my main monitor but only as a gray, blank, window when the cursor is placed on it. The ADIRS and strip windows would still open up on my second monitor. Now for the last month or so none of the three windows will open on my second monitor, but do show up as gray blank window icons on my bottom ribbon (like the DBrite first did). I’m running T3DP (non-steam) as Administrator, tried uninstalling and reinstalling T3DP, restarting my computer, running the program with my Avast anti-virus disabled, trying the mmwindow’s “.bat” files, and running full screen and non-full screen ; but none of these actions made any difference. I have an older AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Processor, 8.0GB ram, an older AMD Radeon 6570 video card and Windows 10 Home (64 bit) Version 1903 (build 18362.836) O/S. My primary monitor is a fairly new LG 27” full HD (connected with an HDMI cable) and my secondary monitor is an older Acer 20” 202HL (connected with a DVI cable). I’ve also attached the mmwindow Data file output log and a screen shot showing the results after I try to move the DBrite to my second monitor (same thing now happens for the strips and ADIRS). I believe I have basic computer and software manipulation knowledge but I’m not the most literate on the spec or hardware side of the house; so please try not get too technical, if possible. I’ve ran out of ideas to try so any help would be greatly appreciated. output_log.txt
  18. Thank you for making this schedule; I’ve been hoping someone would put out new one since out of the six airports I have LAX is my favorite airport to play even though the airport’s game layout is very out dated (wish it could be updated for realism purposes). Which of the three schedules is the most complete (for the moment I’m assuming it’s the “As Close as Possible” schedule)? I also believe making 3 to 4 hour schedule blocks of flights (“snipits”) is a good way to go to help maximize the traffic generated for the hour(s) you want to play (I make my own snipits if the custom schedule doesn’t come with them). Again, I’m very appreciative of your effort and am looking forward to trying out your schedule.
  19. As a retired Air Force controller I vote for realism; therefore, I would like to see most of the items listed by the previous posts included for the next Tower! XX version. Some time ago I had already started my own list of items I would like/want for the Tower! XX product. Even though most of these items have already been mentioned in some form or fashion, I still wanted to include my wish list input since these are the items that I would especially like to see included in the next tower product (listed in no specific order). I also figure the more users that say they want a specific item may add more weight to that item actually being included since it appears incorporating all the wish lists/suggestions would probably not be feasible. - A runway crossing command. - An expedite command like “Immediate” to make the aircraft to take off faster than normal (I hear KLAX controllers clearing airplanes for take-off from the runway hold line with aircraft at 3-4 mile final (I can’t seem to make that work without getting penalized for a runway collision or a separation error). - Game paused when penalty points are given (similar to Tower 2011). - Capability to make speed reductions (or increases) on final (maybe something like in TRACON 2012). - Include a “save game” feature. - Keep scores/statistics for each individual airport instead of just a cumulative total for all airports combined. - Add a “Give way to” command for a taxiing aircraft to give way to another aircraft at an intersecting taxiway or alley and then have the aircraft continue taxiing after the other aircraft is out of the way (ex: DL256 give way to UA127 at Taxiway “E”). - Add a command to allow a taxiing aircraft to follow another taxiing aircraft that is not from the same company (ex: DL256 follow UA127). - The capability for a single player to work either ground control or local (tower) control individually at busy and/or complex airports and have the other position’s traffic automated by the computer. - Show the arriving aircraft’s actually parking gate/spot on the ADRIS when transmitting to it instead of just indicating what terminal the aircraft is going to and then having to wait until after the initial taxi command is given before we know the exact location of the gate/spot at the terminal. - Continue to keep updating the base/core airports, especially if they have significant changes (ex: KLAX (my home airport) has had runways lengthened and taxiways added and extended to help improve the flow of traffic (I would like to be able to use the same instead of still having to use the outdated airport movement areas to move my ground traffic). - Make sure all landing aircraft can clear the runway far enough when exiting so that larger aircraft don’t hit them (ex: KLAX Runway 24R arrivals exiting at Taxiway Z; after exiting the aircraft does not clear the runway far enough to allow a large aircraft to roll past it on landing roll out without causing a collision error). - Have an arriving pilot make the initial call to tower at about 10 nm out; however, I would still want to see aircraft out to the 20 nm range for planning/sequencing purposes. - Incorporate visual approaches into the landing traffic mix. - For more realism it would be nice to add an option to determine the percentage of runway arrivals for both commercial and GA flights when intersecting arrival runways are in use (ex: in RL most KPHL arrivals appear to land on Runways 27R/L or 09R/L; however, in the game there are usually a significantly large number of arrivals on Runways 17/35; also, same for KLAS where in RL a majority of the commercial arrivals appear to land east/west (Runway 26R/L or 8R/L) but again a lot of the time there is a significant amount of arrivals to the north/south runways (1L/R or 19L/R). - I’d love to see military aircraft included at the appropriate airports (what else can I say! retired Air Force controller). - Add “Heavy” or “Super” to the appropriate large aircraft call signs. - Have a landing aircraft keep its speed up until it reaches its exit especially if you tell an aircraft to exit at a taxiway farther down the runway than it would normally exit at. - Be able to select how many hours of scheduled flights to load per session. - Use group form pronunciations (see cbrascott’s “WISHLIST NUMBER: 27” comment). - Better separation between arriving aircraft on final approach to the same runway based on weight categories and final approach speeds (this is usually taken care of by the radar approach controller before sending the aircraft to the tower). That’s it for now. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to provide my input to help make a product I already really enjoy even better.
  20. Salad, attached is the list of 39 different commercial and general aviation destination airports that I depart on Runway 24L for flights located in the south terminal complex and the GA/Cargo areas. This list is based on crbascott's 8 Aug 2018 KLAX 7 day daily schedule which I use for KLAX. I hope this helps or anyone else who might want to use it. KLAX RWY 24 Departures List.docx
  21. I’m long time reader, but this only my second post. As a retired air traffic controller I also cringe a little when controlling KLAX especially when aircraft departing Runway 25R are going to northern airports. Therefore, I used the standard instrument departure (SIDs) procedures as a somewhat guide. I will taxi aircraft departing from the south side terminal complex (primarily United, Alaska and Skywest) going to northern airports to Runway 24L. I will also taxi general aviation aircraft going to northern airports to Runway 24L. My northern airport list includes all airports located north of KLAX in California as well as all airports in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Reno (Nevada), and Alaska. When busy this can make ground control more challenging and fun.
