I have noticed that now there are no more stadard axis in the Axis page

You are using the wrong version of FSUIPC for P3D 3.4!  The current and earliest supported version is 4.957b, released on the 26th September. There's also an interim update 4.957c available. These are the only versions of FSUIPC4 generally available.

There will be another new version released after the next P3D update. Please always keep abreast. If you are going to update the simulator you must always check for a corresponding update of FSUIPC. It is almost always the same day or soon after, except when the P3D release comes whilst I'm away.

Also, if you ever get any problems the first thing you should do it check for updates.

Can this Lua plugin be updated to work with this new naming structure?

There's no new naming structure. The control names used in have been the same for many versions of FS for many years. You are confusing yourself needlessly.

Actually, I downloaded fsuipc from the main site, thinking it would be the latest version. Tomorrow morning I'll download the newst and see how it goes. Thanks for your help, I'll let you know.

What is "the main site" according to you? The version from the www.schiratti.com/dowson site IS the current version. The link there simply points to the same files as here, and they are updated simultaneously. If you are going to some unauthorised site you won't get any support. So please don't.

Also bear in mind that when you use that site, because the link names don't change (Mr. Schiratti, not I, is in charge there), unless you refresh or clear your cache, your download may fetch the same file as you got the time before. It does warn you about that on that site. I deliberately name the links differently each time in the Download Links subforum to prevent that.

With main site I mean this: http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html

I clicked on FSUIPC4 4.957 and installed that version. After the installation I activated it using the serial I bought on http://secure.simmarket.com/ I can send you the order number or anything you need to check that.

I redownloaded FSUIPC after clearing the cache and I'm trying right now.

Edit: typos again...

It works! It works now! Redownloading FSUIPC did the trick; the Lua Plugin is working as it used to before.

Thanks for your help and your time, I'm off to bed now.

Quick question: using two separate levers on my CH Throttle quadrant for the throttles on the NGX. Can I assign a single button on this controller to flip both the levers into reverse mode, or do I have to assign a separate button per lever?

I haven't tried this on any other airframe.  But I got it to work on the PMDG QOTSII.  That being said.  When I got to reverse and I increase the throttle to its Max position the aircraft lunges backwards from a dead stop to about 120GS in about 10 seconds or less.  I noticed however in the aircraft modeling itself that the lever reaches its maximum reverse position and I'm still able to add more fuel to the fire after this.  I would think that 100% of the physical throttle movement would equal to the maximum reverse region programmed into the simulated model if that makes any sense.

[Update] Tried it out on the 777 and didn't have any uncontrollable issues.  Guess next up is to just try a normal reverser assignment on the 747 and see if it does it there also.

Try it with "Throttle limit override" = 0

It´s a parameter in the config array of the file.

It defaults to -16384, but if the setting is 0, the override is disabled and reads the correct value from the sim (0x333A) (for PMDGs it´s -6092).

After the change you will also register a finer control of the reverser because it uses the full range.

Just a quick question on this script: So, after you engage the reverse (activate the script by using the button in the lower part of the saitek throttle axis), in order to apply that reverse you move the lever up as increasing the throttle?

If that's the case I would prefer a simpler solution to my issues of not being able to manage the reverse independently for each engine and avoid bouncing. If anyone could point me out to that, I'd be great.

Thanks!

Correct.

button press *DING* reversers active -> lever up -> lever down lower than array value 10 (-64) *DONG* switch back to default behaviour.

What is the problem?

No problem at all, I think is a great solution, just not in my preferences given pushing up the levers to increase reverse seems counter-intuitive to me.

Any alternatives you can point me to?

Best.

Has anyone got this working with FSUIPC5 betas and P3Dv4 (x64)?

Works great for me! The only thing I could complain about is the range of reverse thrust is not even and smooth in the sim. The thrust lever moves to full, but it is not very linear and full range on my axis. Maybe I am doing something wrong. But for now it works better than I had before.

Edited: Actually, it does something really weird. It does seem to function properly, however when I go into full reverse, it is like my engines have 100 times more thrust and I stop on a dime! Cool, but not realistic lol. Post of you have a fix please!

Check your aircraft's AIRCRAFT.CFG file. Thee will be a parameter there which sets the limit on the reverse power. It is usually 25%, perhaps less, but whatever it is, that's what FSUIPC will supply for "full reverse". And the limit in the aircraft would ignore anything more in any case.

Shouldn't it have the exact same effect as if I held down F2 until it reached maximum reverse thrust? These act very differently. I checked the Aircraft.cfg, and there was nothing in there that reverenced any sort of maximum reverse thrust, or limit. Below are the closest relevant entries in the .cfg.

When I apply full reverse thrust with the Lua, after stopped, If i let it go backwards it quickly speeds up to well over 100kts within 10 seconds. I could record and post a link later or tomorrow possibly. But I have a busy day today.

I checked the Aircraft.cfg, and there was nothing in there that reverenced any sort of maximum reverse thrust, or limit.

That might be part of the problem.  The parameter is:

min_throttle_limit = -0.25                      //Minimum percent throttle.  Generally negative for turbine reverser

-0.25 means 25% of thrust negatively. A 0 would give no reverse at all. You have -0.31, which is a bit higher that normal. But as far as I know that value is what you get when you send the maximum -ve value for the thrust. FSUIPC's calibration certainly limits it so in any case.

Changing this figure had no, or minimal effect. When holding F2 do maximum reverse, the N1 goes up to about 90, or 90%. Fully loaded, the aircraft does not move when it stops. When putting the thrust into reverse using the method on this thread, the N1 goes to 110, or 110%. The same scenario(fully loaded) the aircraft accelerates very rapidly up to 200kts, it is then going so fast that it tries to rotate around and doesn't go much or any faster because if this. I can create a video tomorrow if you think it is required.

With a default aircraft? That is very strange.

If the throttle is calibrated in FSUIPC, the latter uses the value that provides to calibrate the lowest axis input (up to -16383) to only achieve the maximum negative value that allows (eg -4096 for -0.25). If you've not calibrated in FSUIPC then I can only assume FS or the aircraft mofdel is doing something strange if you allow siuch negative numbers through.

No, certainly not.

I'm afraid I'll need to let the author of the methods you are using try to sort it out for you. I have no more time today, and I'm not back till Tuesday 20th.

Does anyone use this with P3D v4.4 and FSUIPC5 ? I get stuck at the first step because there is no [AUTO] section in my FSUIPC5.ini file ? Could someone please help me with installing it on 4.4 ? Thanks

I am a newbie with fslabs and trying to make throttle manager to work. I followed the tutorial at the begining of this thread and my throtlle are not going back into reverse mode, instead it moved forward. any help is much appreciated.

Hi there

This is what the script actually do. But in case of Airbus, you really don't want the throttles to move forward but rather backwards. Therefore you cannot use the script as it is.

I can tell you, it works great with FSlabs Concorde in FSX.
