  1. I would like to see an installer for DLC airports that will ask you whether you bought the game through Steam or Not. I bought KLAS and RC through the website to get both in a single purchase and then had to track down my Steam install folder. Not a big deal, but it'd be nice if it gave the same options as RT/RC. Now I just need to figure out how to re-download RT...
  2. Tom, If you just recently bought the RT/RC, the installer should have an option specifically for Steam installations. Did you get that dialog? Best regards, Fizziii

Not plans for Labor Day weekend... but I do have work plans Labor Day week... that involve flying into Las Vegas. :-D I'll definitely look at airports differently since picking up this simulator. Edit.... as a side note, will Real Traffic ever include traffic from major events like the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight?
  4. I can agree with this. I also this this would be a good reason to design the game in such a way that modders could add things like new airports to the game. Then FT can focus on tweaking the core mechanics with occasional airports, and the community could provide additional airports as well that can tap into the core mechanics.
  5. I had the same SWA1784 glitch from the same gate. I ended up deleting one and playing on. I didn't think to stop and save the logs at the time. :-(
  6. That's entirely possible. I'm pretty new to this game (and genre), so it wouldn't surprise me. I did always wonder why they just kept flying straight over the runway, but I haven't received any negative penalties for planes too close... yet.
  7. Russellfire... it doesn't look anything like KDEN either. EGLL's been done in other games, and I think I've heard it mentioned in being in discussion for this game as well once they get the permission to use satellite image issue resolved. I haven't heard a peek about KDEN. It's the airport in the US with the longest commercial runway, and the highest control tower (in the US again) at the time of construction (not sure if this has changed). It also has 6 non-crossing runways, and is designed for 12... Ahhh, to have room.
  8. Reading other threads on these forums, yes. Apparently they are looking into laws regarding satellite pictures of the airports or something along those lines.

  10. After telling them to GO AROUND, I tell them to CONTACT DEPARTURE and don't have that issue. Even at times where I miss a plane and they tell me that they're going around I'll quickly tell them to CONTACT DEPARTURE, and avoid the penalty.
  11. I'm thinking that perhaps you're trying to send them somewhere that they don't want to go and that's causing an issue? You mention they should stop on an apron. The game has no different between the Taxi commands. Are you giving them directions to the apron of the terminal where they want to go? The planes will go to the gate and not stop on the apron. You can always tell them to hold position if you need them to stop.
  12. As a follow up to this issue. I went and played with quite a few quality settings and loaded ATL. The ADIRS was completely blank. I closed out of Tower!3d Pro and relaunched it and changed some more settings... and then switched tabs without applying... and then went back and toggled a couple settings and applied settings this time, and launched. I played for over an hour (game time) worth about 650 points with no horrible lag. I think it was reflections I turned off and Shadows? Either way I played on 2x speed for about 25 minutes and then 1x for another 15 minutes roughly without issue.

  14. Okay, so you have a plane landing and are getting a message about a ground collision/crash alert? That's not a full crash as those usually deduct 1,000 points. Have you tried TAXI TO TERMINAL, or TAXI TO RAMP instead of TAXI TO APRON? Have you tried CONTINUE TAXI? Have you tried TAXI TO APRON via X instead of Y X Z? Do all of these provide 'NEGATIVE' responses? I think there should be a log that gets created during the game that you can open after the game closes... one that shows the commands and everything. Can you provide that speech.log file?
  15. I'm not able to diagnose these logs as I'm not sure what to look for, but I must admit that I am amused that the last thing you clicked on was a Speedbird plane and your username is what it is...
  16. What specific commands are you giving? You mention Taxi to Apron. Is this a plane that has landed, or a plane at the terminal? If it's a plane at the terminal, you'll need to give pushback instructions before it can head to a runway. I'm getting confused with the translation as well and I apologize.
  17. I'd like to chime in on this topic as well. I tried Atlanta the other day and it was daytime with rainy weather and it bogged down to the point of unplayability. This was the first time I've tried it since getting Real Traffic/Real Color. I thought perhaps it was an issue with the rain and switched to clear weather... but I didn't go back to Atlanta to test it.
  18. CL, I haven't had the game fail to recognize Uniform for me.... but I don't recall trying it for LAX. I was just wanting to use B16 because it's beyond the end of the runway... although on that diagram it looks like B17, and that it still crosses the runway. I wonder if the airport has been updated since the version the game was based off of? (I heard that PHL is based off of 2006 which results in Taxiway H being different in game than it is in real life). Edit, found and attached an image of 2006 LAX which shows B16 around the end of the runway (which matches what I see in-game).
  19. Is Taxiway B16 usable in Tower!3D Pro? I have not been able to get it. I try telling them to use Taxiway Bravo One Six and the voice recognition bar comes up with anything but. I've seen B13 show up, but I can't get B16 to appear.

  21. Can some of you seasoned veterans give me a hand with how to handle higher winds? I was playing in Philly late at night (Philly time was between 11 and midnight when I started playing, so I went for Philly at 11PM). Anyway, I have been playing with random wind and I had a few wind issues. I'd like to know how to normally handle them. I had one plane tell me that the tailwind was too high, so it couldn't use runway 17, so I sent it to 9L to take off. Then being late and having few flights, I would jump the speed to 16x when I didn't have a plane on the ground. Next thing I know, my landing plane says the crosswind is too high and it's flying around and I lost 500 points for an unhandled plane. Is there a good reference for how to deal with the wind? I know some airports only have 1 runway, and if the wind doesn't allow it due to tailwinds, do they just take off the opposite direction or are they stuck? (I haven't tried having one take off into the wind.) Thanks for all of your (anticipated) assistance.

  23. I didn't save the logs, but I had an 'amusing' issue with the game yesterday. I gave a plane pushback clearance from Terminal 8. It pushed back and I thought it was done pushing and I gave it taxi clearance. Next thing I knew it was going around in a circle again... and then it got pushed backwards... into the Terminal Building.... and it kept going... through the parking and roads in the center of the airport... through more parking. Then it went down along Terminal 4, across taxiways, and I deleted the plane finally as it was crossing the intersection of Runway 13R-31L and Runway 4L-22R. Then I just had the tug sitting there... but that didn't cause any issues and I continued dealing with flights.
  24. Michi10, Where are you going for the manual? When I pull up the manual and go to Controlling Basics, it's the very first sentence under mouse commands "On all screen scroll wheel is zoom."

I'm not sure how it's programmed, and I'm not a programmer.... but with that being said, I think it would be awesome if they could design the core functionality of the game (i.e. what planes mean while taxing, how to interpret the commands, etc.) and leave it open (or design an API) so that other users can design their own airports. I know it'd be a bit of work still, but I've seen some amazing things on the web that people have done when dedicated to it. I think then they could focus on improving core functionality of the game and still work on 'official releases' of airports. I think it could be the best of both worlds. Again, it'd have to be designed that way. As far as improving core functionality of the game, I'm not saying it's bad. I've been loving the game so far. But I've seen people ask for the ability to tell aircraft to continue across runways without using the 'Hold short of...' workaround. I think it could also be nice if you had the option of doing 1 job, or you could do multiplayer with more than 2 people (From some research I've done since getting enthralled with this game, I've realized that LAX has 2 different ground positions... 1 for the northern section and 1 for the southern section, and there's a handoff line running through the airport. Again, just my 2 cents, and not a knock on anyone. I too am in FrankFly Dk's shoes in that I feel that my airport may never be created (Denver International Airport).
