  1. The 794 refers to the number of unique sets of data at LAX. Using this data set, you can generate up to 2880 flights in a schedule. Although the flight numbers will not be duplicated, the destinations and aircraft will be. For example, if you choose to generate 1588 flights (double the number of unique flights), on average each of the unique flights will be used twice. The maximum number of flights in any schedule cannot exceed 2880. Just follow the instructions, and I hope you enjoy it.
  2. If look at the "Airplanes" folder in Tower 2011 and you have Real Color installed, you should see lots of files with the extension ".apt." For example, 757-200_generic_ual.apt. I believe this is the file for United Air Lines colors. The last three characters (for example, ual) are the code for each airline included.
  3. I really don't know. Schedule Creator should not have anything to do with airline colors. Since so many airlines were not included in Real Traffic for Tower, I'm sure not all airlines are included with Real Color. Most of the time I run Tower zoomed-out so I don't even notice the colors.
  4. Look at this for a short of discussion of the airports and airlines missing/deleted. http://forum.simflight.com/topic/76191-tower-schedule-creator-16-rfn-v1-released-includes-fra/
  5. Andrew: Thanks for your comments. Since only one cargo terminal is assigned in the sim, I would just stick with that. I don't know the strategy of the programmers, perhaps one cargo terminal assignment covers both terminals. If you want to create a new cargo terminal, you might check out the instructions for adding one at LAX and see if you can apply that at ATL. The sim is actually a bit out-of-date regarding terminals and gates at airports, such as ATL and LAX. But, it is hard to keep everything current as airlines come and go, change gates, new terminal spots are opened, etc.
  6. I assume you are activating at least one runway on the start page. Not sure what you mean by "it hangs at the end."
  7. Are you in the correct forum? This is the forum for feelThere's "Tower! 2011" and "Tracon! 2012." Nothing to do with the Wilco Tower Simulation.
  8. Schedule Creator only creates schedules, it does not update or change any of the airline or terminal files. This must be done manually by opening the files with an app such as Notepad (included with Windows). For example, you would locate the "airlines.txt" file within the Tower databases folder, and open it with Notepad. The first few lines might look like this: AAB,W9,ABG,ABELAG AVIATION,BELGIUM AAF,ZI,AIGLE AZUR,AIGLE AZUR,FRANCE AAL,AA,AMERICAN,AMERICAN AIRLINES,UNITED STATES You then open my "Airlines to Add-Disable" file (which you have downloaded from the forum). The first few lines in the to-add section will look like this: AIJ,4O,ABC AEROLINEAS,ABC AEROLINEAS,MEXICO AJT,M6,AMERIJET,AMERIJET INTERNATIONAL,US AUA,OS,AUSTRIAN,AUSTRIAN AIRLINES,AUSTRIA You simply copy and paste all of the airlines to be added from this file into the "airlines.txt" file, and save it. You do exactly the same kind of operation on the "airports.txt" file in order to update that file from my "Airports 245" file (which you also download from the forum). You can also modify the terminal files using a similar process. All of this is outlined on page 2 of the "Schedule Creator 15 Comments.pdf" which can be downloaded from the forum. As far as "Run as Administrator" goes, if you right-click on the Schedule Creator.exe file and you should see that as an option. Many programs under Windows 7 require this in order to run correctly. There is a way to change this permanently under the "properties" and "compatibility" dialog boxes by right-clicking any application and choose "properties." Under "compatibility" you will see a box to check entitled "Run this program as an administrator." In my experience, editing using Notepad does not require "run as administrator."
  9. Just so I'm not confused...isn't Tracon called Tracon! 2012? Just want to make sure that this is not Dubai for Tower! 2011. Thanks.
  10. I will be glad to update Schedule Creator to include LGA. Part of the work is already done since LGA is part of the New York Sector in Tracon 2012. Or, I could create a version just for LGA if you would prefer. I would need to have a copy of the terminal assignment file in order to complete the analysis of LGA.
  11. carlosk: I sent you a personal message with a new zip file. Give it a try. Have you considered that your operating system might need to be repaired?
  12. Have you tried a package such as "7-Zip" instead of the Windows app? http://www.7-zip.org/ I have tried downloading/uploading the SC zip file on several friends computers and it works just fine. I will give this some more attention when I am back home.
  13. I have no way to upload a new copy until after Jan 3. Did you download a new copy?
  14. I am on vacation and will try to help after January 3, 2015. I do not have access to my main computer. Try to lookup your error message using Google, etc.
  15. The number of unique flights at each airport is listed when you run the program, just before you are asked if you want to choose a file path for your schedule. However, using RDU as an example, if you would choose 244 flights for your schedule, this is no certainty that each of the 244 flights will be included in the schedule. The flight data is selected by a random number generator and it is very likely that there will be several duplicates chosen--that is why I stressed that the program avoids duplicate flight numbers. I will take a look at the possibility of making sure that each flight in the set is chosen at least once. You can see the problem if you decided to build a 1000-flight schedule over 24 hours at RDU. Thanks for the suggestion. Added later: It looks like you would have to pick about four times the number of unique flights in order to be sure to include them all.
  16. Thanks. Once I get the FlightAware data, I have the process pretty automated. I do not include as many types as you do because that would require users to modify their Tower 2011! files and not many seem to be willing or able to do that. I am setting up for a new set of schedules for January 2015.
  17. I just posted Schedule Creator with real flight numbers. Let me know what you think and if any problems arise.
  18. December 18, 2014 @ 12:10 pm US Eastern time. You can find it here: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/76191-tower-schedule-creator-15-v3-real-flight-numbers-released/ This version uses real flight numbers and forces sets of unique flights into a schedule. See above for more details.
  19. Answer to 1. I don't know--I would need to see what you entered for a filepath. Typically, it would be something like C:\mydirectory\schedule.txt. I use the following filepath to create my own flights (I have Tower installed on my T: drive in a folder named tower2011): t:\tower2011\databases\schedule.txt Answer to 2. The destinations, airlines, and aircraft are taken from FlightAware. The flight numbers are calculated by the program based on user input. I did not use real flight numbers because at some of the smaller airports, such as RDU, there are really not the many flights compared with ATL or ORD, for example, and users wanted the ability to have "many" flights in 24 hours. In order to accommodate "many" flights, the flight numbers would have been dupilcated and the program does not like that. That said, I am working on a new version that will use real flight numbers but have not worked out all the bugs yet. Thanks for your questions.

  21. Schedule Creator TRACON 9, including Frankfurt, has been released. http://forum.simflight.com/topic/76195-tracon-schedule-creator-tracon-9-available-includes-frankfurt/
  22. Thanks, Graham. If you have Tower 2011! you will also enjoy using Schedule Creator, found in the same forum.
  23. Schedule Creator 15, including Gatwick, has been released. http://forum.simflight.com/topic/76191-tower-schedule-creator-15-including-gatwick-released/
  24. Let me know what is missing. I thought I had it covered pretty well. Recall that there are some duplicates in Real Traffic and Tower picks the first duplicate it comes to. Send me a list of what you are missing.
