  1. Schedule Creator creates schedules for the 17 major airports in Tower; it does not include St. Thomas (not enough diverse traffic). The data is from FlightAware but has not been updated for several months. You can set the starting and ending times of a schedule, and the number of flights (equally divided between arrivals and departures) in that time period. Caution: creating lots of flights does not necessarily mean lots of traffic--traffic is always controlled by the number of parking spaces available for each airline at its assigned terminal. You must have Nyerges' "Real Traffic" installed to use the schedules created by SC. You can run SC alone to test it--it does not depend on Tower to run. Read the documentation.
  2. You cannot set the actual number of arrivals/departures, but there is a sliding scale (0-100%) for controlling the arrivals/departures. However, the number of arrivals is always governed by how many parking spaces are available at the assigned terminals. Each airline has one or two terminals, but you can change that by editing certain files. You can only set the starting time of a session, not its length. For creating schedules, check out the "Schedule Creator" topic in the Tower forum. To use "Schedule Creator" you have to buy and install Nyerges' "Real Traffic." No need to buy multiplayer if you are not going to use it.
  3. The terminal assignments are in the Tower 2011 "Airfields" folder under the name of each airport, such as Los_Angeles_Airport_Terminal.txt. The assignments use the 3-letter airline id. The file is easy to edit using "Notepad" or another text editor. You can change the assignments to match your preferences, reality, etc. An airline can appear at more than one terminal. Do not change the name of the terminal, all the text that appears before the colon on each line.
  4. Not sure what all the log file entries mean...the log file is designed for the Tower folks, not us users. Could be that there were no parking spaces available.
  5. Yes, Skywest has most of the flights to SFO. Remember, the schedule is just a snapshot of one day a couple of years ago. You can always increase the number of parking slots by adding OO to one of the terminals that does not receive as many flights. Trying to keep schedules 100% accurate and realistic would be a full-time job. I'm not sure even FlightAware does that. Sorry if it decreases your enjoyment.
  6. Take a look at the "schedule.txt" file in the "databases" folder. If the airlines in the schedule have codes such as "UA", "DL", "AA" then you have Real Traffic.
  7. I am not aware of any schedules based on real times...that would be very time consuming to build and keep updated for the 17 airports in Tower. "Real Traffic" was basically out of date when it was released and contains many airlines that no longer exist, many airports were actually missing, and new airlines have emerged. The "Schedule Creator" series was my compromise.
  8. Are you using the default schedule, or one you created with Schedule Creator? What are the times associated with each flight? They could be several hours apart on the schedule but if there is no other demand for those gates they could appear. Are you sure they were both Korean...it is hard to tell one airline from another in the view...does any other airline use Terminal E? Airlines are terminal specific, but not gate specific. More data...
  9. You usually cannot easily add more gates to the game at the main terminals. For an example of creating a terminal using existing taxiways, look at the Schedule Creator topic and you will see some instructions for creating a cargo terminal at LAX. You might try these at MIA. I usually keep my departure slider at 100% and the arrivals around 80%...that seems to make gates available. Do not overload the schedule with Schedule Creator. At the larger airports with multiple runways, using 1000 flights over 24 hours seems to give an active game.
  10. The title page and the instructions both remind users to "Run as Administrator." That seems to be a good idea for all Windows 7 programs. Let me know if this solves the problem. I never heard back from "Bazvink" after his initial post.
  11. In my experience, the format of the airports.txt file is critical. Make sure your files match the layout of the original exactly. Also, none of my files contain () -- I don't think that should matter but you never know. Check the format on the "Additional Airports" file under "Schedule Creator 17" topic.
  12. I have no idea what the problem might be. This error has never been reported before. All of the files look fine to me. I will be glad to send you a fresh copy in you send me a PM.
  13. I just created a 1000-flight Atlanta schedule without any problems. Here are the first few lines. // SCHEDULE CREATOR 17 Real Flight Numbers by Dick Parker (September 2015) // ATL 1000 flights // Created on Wed Oct 28 15:56:38 2015 // ATL, SHV, CR2, EV, 5585, 23:51, 22:51, 120, EV ATL, CLT, 321, US, 551, 18:30, 17:10, 80, US ATL, AUS, 733, WN, 4656, 16:59, 15:39, 140, WN ATL, AGS, CR2, EV, 5096, 04:40, 03:40, 60, EV ATL, DFW, 744, CI, 5254, 08:44, 07:24, 140, CI ATL, CLT, 717, DL, 2251, 18:42, 17:22, 80, DL ATL, HOU, 733, WN, 42, 17:38, 16:28, 130, WN ATL, LAX, 77L, DL, 2055, 15:23, 14:03, 260, DL ATL, CMH, M88, DL, 1695, 01:25, 23:35, 110, DL So, I don't know what the problem might be. Everything in my source file looks all right. Let me know if you still continue to have problems and I will be glad to send you a fresh copy. No one else has reported any problems.
  14. Do your schedule.txt, airlines.txt. and airports.txt files in the databases folder all contain data? I don't imagine the app will even load without these but check anyway. Are you running "as administrator"?
  15. What schedule.txt file are you using? Default, Real Traffic, Schedule Creator?
  16. The information in the log file is really not for users so I'm not totally sure what all the phrases mean. When I use LAX, I create 1200-1400 flights over 24 hours, and activate runways 24L/R and 25L/R. I do my landings on 24R and 25L, and departures on 24L (mainly to accommodate Southwest) and 25R. Thanks for your comments.
  17. When you "add" using the editor, are you using the "taxiway simple" or "taxiway terminal in/out option?" I think if you want to create a new taxiway, such as R2 ("Romeo Two"), you need to use the first option. If you want to create new parking spaces at a terminal, such as "FDX1," you need to use the second option. I have modified LAX using both using the methods we have been discussing without any problems. One thing I have noted is that all landings on 25L will turn toward the terminals regardless of new taxiways or terminal parking being created along the south side...must be built into the sim. If you have parking along the southside, aircraft will eventually get there by a roundabout route.
  18. The only thing I note in your files is that the airlines.txt file contains many blank lines. I don't think this should interfere with the reading but you might try removing them. Other than that, they look all right to me. Assuming all of the input files are correct, the main thing that affects arrivals and departures is the number of free gates at the airports. Flights will not arrive unless they have a free gate. Try looking at the log file and see if the program is loading departures. I would look into this a little further but this weekend is a national holiday in the US and I am busy with other activities. Another note: 2880 is a lot of flights and will lead to many flights being dropped. Try making a schedule with about 1200 flights and see how that works.
  19. Any mods you make must be to the "airports" and "airlines" files, not to the "schedule" file. I assume you have "Real Traffic" installed, also. You can upload files by using the "full editor" option when posting a message. At the bottom is a section for uploading files. I will be glad to take a look.
  20. Here is a TAXIWAY Terminal in/out I just created by right-clicking to left of main taxiway center line, and then right-clicking where I wanted it to end. Note the small black knot that was created automatically. Make sure the "hide knots" box is not checked in the create/edit box. taxiway.bmp
  21. I have done this quite a few times and never had the game fail to load. Did you accidently give the new line the same name as an existing line? Also, make sure that the new line begins on the far side of the center line of the taxiway being intercepted. I don't think there are any tutorials in addition to the manual.
  22. Not sure how far along you are in the process, but if you are asking how to create the lines, you right-click on the point you want to start, move the mouse to the point you want to end, and right click again, then close the routes box. I assume you have given the new taxiway way a name, such as "R" or "B4,", etc.
  23. Take a look at the "creating a simple cargo terminal at lax" document here: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/76191-tower-schedule-creator-16-rfn-v1-released-includes-fra/ Maybe it will help in trying to create the new Bradley area at LAX.
