Sorry for the double post...

Yea, that is a great bird... it seems easier to fly than the smaller ones. Its more stable, auto hover IS great.
It’s easy to land because it has landing gear and you can have some forward movement when you touch down and you don't flop on the nose, as with skids... one of my famous early maneuvers.
It’s great looking, as you can see in the first post, the VC is OK…you can look out the back with the VC too.
Installing is automatic with the install program, you can choose right or left seat to fly, I'm still figuring out the logs and the barrels, dropping the water is fun, its a nice challenge to manual hover and fill the water tank and not go into the water with the extra weight.

Well it seems I came in with a bang. When I was born the US explodes 15 megaton hydrogen bomb on Bikini Atoll in celebration. :D :D :D (Mar 1 1954)

Does anybody know of anyplace on the web to get FREE approach plates... the links I have (echo etc) have gone pay. Just thought I would ask before I break out the credit card.

Thanks Shaun... I saw how to do it in the docs, but I thought someone already looked up where each location was. Maybe I'm having a Sr moment... :?:
Lots to learn about the Garmin...but that's the fun part.

I have searched the forums I look at regularly, and I seem to remember seeing a post with the information needed to put Emma, Diamond point and other FS airports into the Garmin 530, but can't locate the thread.
Would anyone mind point me to that string (if there is one... I may have been dreaming when I saw it  )
Thanks,
Mark

Well, I have down loaded this software and have been working with it for a few weeks now, and I must say its great!... I have been going through the training and printed out the manual. (man its big). Today I got the charts working (the default Guam) and its stuff is great.
My question is: Has anyone created charts for the Emma area? We all fly around there a lot. I have the charts for that area, but I'm thinking someone has already gotten the charts in the Garmin 530 already.
If so, are these something that can be shared? I understand there would be two files, a calibration file and a map file. If not, that sounds like another challenge while I'm… “on the road again” (sang with a twain).
Oh BTW, due to a mistake on my part, I ended up with two copies of the manual, does anybody want a copy? I don’t mind the postage for the States. I guess, the first person to say they want it and to post their e-mail address here, I’ll get back to them for their address. Again, I’ll eat the postage, that’s why a US address only. Sorry for others outside the states.

I went to a Vintage air show at the Kingsbury Aerodrome (85TE) and it will great to see lots of older planes fly. Heres a link to their web site http://www.vintageaviation.org/
I'll get more pictures up or maybe get them on my website and I'll give you hte link... right know I'm tired.

Its is possible to have some sort of competition with thoses by starting from the same place up in the air (slew there) and each try to land on a certain spot. Closest one get bragging rights… Maybe during a fly in. Some fly, some jump, rotate etc… anyone interested?
