anyone heard anthing about the next airport
FeelThere_Vic replied to ATC AlaskaGuy's topic in ATC Simulators
Virago, First of all you hijacked this topic, next time start a new one please. "Remember me, the guy that jumped on you on facebook" Since you didn't offer even your first name, unfortunately I have no idea who you are and with all due respect I don't see what is this discussion is about. "Then your new game engine, real moving raindrops" Something like this? "Maybe in reply you could tell us how many of those you are implicating and how many you have already dismissed." This is likely won't happen and here are the reasons for that. First of all we have to sort out the requests. We have hundreds of them (we got emails too) and we have to delete the duplicates or similar reports at least to understand them all. Once it's done we will throw out that; unrealistic, unreasonable, simply too hard (I know it's sound rather a bad excuse but if a certain request would take us months to develop just to address a slight topic then it must go). Once is all done I'm sure we will still have dozens of these suggestions. Then we will group them by importance such as "must", "should", "if we can", "if suddenly a day is more than 24 hours and we got some extra time". We also set some internal timeline and try to add as many of these as possible. "Since you are no longer talking in the facebook group" I do, but I never have/never will do it daily 🙂 No offense, even my personal facebook is unchecked for days sometimes 🙂 Vic -
Hi Fred, Yes we did. The only problem is we need sector data and not airport data. Vic

Tower3D! - Airport Bugs and Errors
FeelThere_Vic replied to blacklabelbraai's topic in ATC Simulators
Are you trying the OMDB add on with Tower!3D or Tower!3D Pro? -
Dear Folks, We are keep searching for a solution for the traffic. The other option would be to release the product for a less price without support and let the community build sectors and schedule. Thank you Vic
-
Neil, Unlikely. We always model real world. If it's not there today then it wont make Tower!3D either. Vic
-
There are no plans to include the old winglets for now. The goal is now to release the Sp asap. Thank you Vic
-
Thank you everyone. Let's everyone be safe! Vic & Team

We all work remotely so business as usual. Indeed some situations makes life a bit more difficult so we might loose a day or two but we are working on 2 airports and Gabor is working on one too. -PHNL -KSEA for us Thank you Vic

Dear Folks, In the light of recent events around the world, looks like many of us will be asked to stay at home. To help you we run an unscheduled sales event discounting almost all but the latest products by 50%. As a matter of fact our two best sellers for fs9 and fsX (the Phenom and Florida Landings) are free during this sale event to help those who are still using older computers. https://www.feelthere.com/product-category/holiday-sales/ Please be safe and stay home. Dear Folks, We are done with the SP, but found some very minor issues with some textures. The SP likely will be released next week. Thank you Vic

UPDATE: looks like this final issue is addressed now. Time to make sure all 4 variants are retested and if they are OK then we'll release the SP. Thank you for your patience Vic & Team

Dear Folks, I just want to give you a quick update regarding the SP. It's 99% done, we are checking one last issue in the FD. Once it's cleared we will release the SP. It's our goal too to get you the fixes asap. Thank you for your patience Vic & team
-
Hi Charles, Please try now, I double checked for you. Should be OK now. Vic
-
EDDF is out already.
-
Dear Folks, It was delayed due to some personal reasons unrelated to Tower or FeelThere. EDDF is scheduled to be released in the next few days. Sorry for the delay Vic

Thank you for pointing it out! Vic

FeelThere_Vic replied to ATC AlaskaGuy's topic in ATC Simulators
I hate to ruin it, but the current engine is not supporting Terminal prioritization. Accidentally it might work, but that is pure coincidence. Vic -
Dom, I hid you previous post, no need to report it anymore. Vic

@crbascott Craig, We are going somewhere with our bar offers. I could handle a bottle of cold Sam Adams any time now 🙂 It's very difficult to answer at the moment because we are not there yet to see if we can capable importing the "old" airports into the new system, It;'s possible (however it's my personal quest not to happen) that we wont be able to move the old airports to the new version regardless of free/pay/whatsoever. The editor I envision is somehow totally different from the current one. I will have to pitch the idea to the team and see if it's possible at all. I would love to get into details but pretty much hours after I posted here someone jumped on us in our Facebook group and I rather not fight on multiple fronts 🙂 Re: greedy. I learned to ignore it. As long as we ask for money for our software someone is going to call us greedy. The funny thing there is a beautiful free add-on for the flight sim I use for fun and there are people who still attack the developer. It tells everything. We can see a bigger picture; we received so much requests for more airports we had to reshuffle resources and now we can release a new airport in every month. That makes some other people happy while it make some unhappy. To give you an example how much we try to save money I'm willing to marry our marketing person soon 🙂 The Tower!3D and Pro was built on Tower!2011 and to be honest we underestimated the community. I thank you all for proving us wrong. T!3DX will be built from scratch and it's whole development and support philosophy is planned to be changed. Once again I wish I could get into details but I don't want to fight over this on social media while everything is still in planning stage. For sure once we make the new editors we will keep future compatibility in mind. So after the release of T!3DX we should expect backward compatibility for the future versions (Tower releases after T!3DX). That's the goal 🙂 Thanks for the Uber, I pick up the tab for the drinks 🙂 -
1) because your attitude in that post 2) it will cost too much fps. Sometime we have to decide between feature and fps. Let's give this topic a rest, any further comment will be deleted.

It's way too early to answer that. First we would need a working Tower!X in order to see the performance. -

Please do NOT quote me, consider it a bar talk, semi-drunk mumbling in a bar 🙂 (by the way would there be an interest for some blog from us where we will post about things like this?) Currently we are working on a new environment system that includes lighting and weather. It's not an update of the current one instead a brand new built from scratch. To give you some idea; you will see the raindrops moving on the glass in the direction and speed of the wind. The whole atmosphere will react to the weather. Just by looking outside you will see the direction and the strength of the wind. I'm not going to tell you (yet) the other exciting features but we are using the current KLAX model to our test and it looks so much better already. On the 3D side; we are moving into the direction of full PBR. Some our new airports we release for the current Tower!3D and Pro product are the testbeds and probably you will see some improvements soon (no guarantee as we don't know if the current engine will allow us to show them). Also one of the top priority is an airplane/airport builder that is relatively easy to use and we can release to the public. It will break the current models for sure and new standard needs to be set. It brings up to your question regarding compatibility etc. I'm asking you to please continue reading it and not to jump into a conclusion after the next sentence 🙂 The current airport models will not work with the new Tower version. But, we are working hard to somehow bring them into the next version. The questions we are asking ourselves if we somehow convert them into the new version: -they will not be updated to a new layout because if we start editing them (for new taxiways and terminals) then we need to bring them to the then "current" quality which is pretty much making them from scratch. We can't remake them from scratch and offer them as a free upgrade. So we either keep the old layout (the one we have now) and offer the airport for free or release them as new. We need to think which decision will cause less harm (no matter which one we'll pick someone is going to be unhappy; if it's a free compatibility patch then someone will complain for the old layout or if we rebuild them to the new standard and ask money for it then we are going be the greedy developers...) -distribution: if you got it from us directly, no problem we can control the distribution of the update (if we decide to go that way) but likely won't be able to do that with some 3rd parties. We always suggest to buy every product directly from the developers. You support them firsthand and make easier to such an updates, etc. These are the questions we are discussing within the team. It's very early to answer them as things are still flexible. Thank you Vic
