  1. I was doing some file housekeeping and found that the ymml airplanes.txt file does not have the 74N in it. CX operates the 74N into YMML.  I found it in the LPFG airplanes.txt file and tranferred it over to the YMML airplanes.txt file.  I have LPFG RC for that reason. Also changed the ymml schedule to reflect the 74N. All worked good. A nice CX Livery 747 instead of a whte one.

Looking at the other airplanes.txt file I found several differences from A/P to A/P.  I would have thought a common airplanes.txt file would have been the go.

Ques, can someone confirm that all the aircraft types are in the airplanes_pack1& the airplanes_pack1.manifest file.  What I want to do is bring my airplanes.txt file up to date and include every aircraft type. I know that if the airplanes.txt files and the Pack files dont correspond, the program doesn't load.

I realise this is a Gabor area but any infromation will help.

  2. Running ymml the other night I noticed that 2 Jetstar departure did not spawn.

    MEL,CGO,788,JQ,67,12:00,14:30.1.JQ

    MEL,HKT,788,JQ,17,12:00,14:50,1,JQ

Looking at the log, it shows  "Airplane dropped, no international terminal JST67" , same for JST 17. Without checking I assume all the JST arriving intl flights get dropped as well.

There was space at the international terminal in both cases.

Ques, how does the program know that these flights require the use of the international terminal? Terminal 2 in the case of ymml, and how do you get the aircraft to operate out of terminal 2 without changing the ICAO, IATA code to fool the program.

I notice that all the QF internationsl flights depart and arrive at the QF domestic terminal (term 1). I can live with that.

Attached is the log, and terminal .txt.

Jetstar intl no terminal log ymml_terminal.txt

  3. @CL30  Spead yr wings a bit. EGKK, Gatwick with Sp1 is now a good airport if you like various operators. It is really a single runway A/P with interesting taxiing requirements. I have gone back to this one lately after the SP1 release  including RC SP1. There are several RT packages available to choose from or you can make your own if you don't like the original RT package.

Like most A/P's, there are a predominancy of one operator, in EGKK it is  Easy Jet & Brtitsh Airways.

Only a suggestion to look at if you want something different to a US airport.

  4. I have used various headsets including plantronics and cheap Coles $9.00 specials. (Coles is a local supermarket chain here in Aus). All with mixed success. The main problem is the ear muffs falling apart. In desperation I bought an Aldi heaset on special. It had 3mm plugs and USB plug. I had mixed success with the 3mm plugs but in desperation plugged the USB plug and it worked great. No problems with voice recognition at all. I have not touched any settings and it works fine.

In the past I have found that the microphione input volume can be critical. More is not necessarilly better.

I also think it would be cool if the strobe lights a plane has would actually do what they do in real life by blinking continually instead of just blinking every so often.

If they really wanted to get it right, the white strobes should come on when the aircraft is cleared to the runway as in RL. (LUAW or clear for Take off).

Also remove the tail anticollision light (red) for normal aircraft and the fuseleage  top anticol light on T tail aircraft. Basically normal A/C have one light on the bottom & one on the top . T tail have one on the bottom & one on the top of the tail.

I use chrome and had no issues. (But that was years ago.)

Do you have any anti-anything extensions running?

Is Explorer/Edge still on your PC?  Tried signing up using these MS alternatives?

I tried signing up using edge, it then said that the info was being submitted so maybe it was sucessful.

For Ariel, I regularly delete the cookies but if above fails I will give it another go.

  7. Hi, vic or Ariel

I continually try to sign up for your newsletter but when I put my email address in, the system  seems to go into a continuous loop, asking me repeatedly to input my email address in two seperate  :Join up" screens.

I dont not get any newsletters from Feelthere, probably because of this.

    Any ideas

Edit: Even if the CPU gets hotter all the time (KLGA only) the load never exceeds 35%. Restricting the Tower!3D Task via the Task Manager to threads 0-3 has also not caused any change. This is a mystery to me and I also don't know what the flooding of the Page File causes.

I have noticed that my computer runs quite hot with  Tower, even using ymml. No problems with overheating though. I have not tried KLGA though.

Ques. How doe you associate CPU threads to the game using the task mamager?? I might try it as I have an AMD CPU with lots of threads.

an anybody tell me what  ' terminal'  is located in the 'Whiskey area' south ot the airport ?
Has that been filed as Cargo ?

@cHabu From my memory working there a long time ago (Ansett was still operating) & looking at google earth this is the setup

    1. W1 is QANTAS (QF) maintenance

    2. W2 is Virgin (VA) maintenance

    3. W3 is gneral aviation and REX (ZL) parking.

There is no terminal in the W area to my knowlwdge but as I say, it was quite some time ago.

  10. It it possible to have one big RC pack with all the airline RC files within it. Therfore there would only be one example of each levery, aircraft and operator in the pack.

This pack could be called from the individual airport files or mabe renamed and added to each airport file by the user.

For amendments, ND (gabor & his team) could update the big file and charge for the fresh RC pack. That way they get their payment for their work as they do now and us, as end users, get the newest RC liveries in one file set. One advantage for ND is when a new Airport or livery is released, they only have to update the one set of file/s and not have to create a complete new set of files for new airports or liveries.

I don't know how this could be integrated into Tower, but it might be something for the next generation.

If one did not want the new liveries, then they don't need to purchase the update but I think from the posts above, most are interested in the latest liveries.

I am biased too being a Kiwi lol - any chance of trying out your schedule please?  YMML always interested me even in my flightsimming days.

Fordy, I just found an error in my schedule. When I fix it and am happy with it, I will flick accross to you via PM

No, both laptops were supplied new with Windows 10 in 2016
    Toshiba C55-C-1M9

Have you done all the windows updates? 2016 is a long time ago in IT times??

For fear of starting an agrument,  I have very little faith in Toshiba laptops. In my experience in rebuilding them,  Toshiba do funny things with the BIOS which makes them a little strange.

    I tend to avoid them.

This is only my opinion as someone who has worked with them in the past. Also to have 2 hard drive failures is most unusual.

    Ah a fellow kiwi!

Yeh, they can't fly & only come out at night.😁 Sorry Ben, the old friendly  Kiwi/ Aussie rivalary .

For Fordy, this is a fairly common practice by the experienced schedule builders. It is also used whenever it is required to differentiate operators arrivign at different terminals but usng the same ICAO & IATA codes. Examples are:

    1. Freight operators e.g. Cathay Pacific, Singapore cargo etc.

    2. Operators operating domestic & intnl. flights where they Dep/Arr at different terminals. e.g. American Airlines in the US, You want the dom flights & the Intl flights to operate at different terminals. SFO is an example of this.

    3. Small operators that don't have ICAO & IATA codes. e.g T#.

On a different heading, maybe someone could produce an airlines.txt list of the made up codes and have some sort of standardisation for these to help make sure duplicates don't happen.

BY the way, I did not mention YMML or CYVR simply because I have not tried them yet. Perhaps someone else might want to chime in on those...

Andrew, I am a bit biased being an Aussie, but I have found YMML quite interesting & challenging at some times of the day due to the runwy setup. I have made a  one day custon schedule (not published)  using  timetable scheduled dep & Arr times with minor modifications. Also I have included ALL foreign operators  (some only operate on certain days) in the schedule. It can be challenging to control slow (dash 8-400, Atr42/72) aircraft to/from  the runways in amongst the jets/heavies etc.

If there is any interest in the schedule I might publish it in the list of schedules. Like all custon schedules it has to be reviewwd as operators change into any airport.
