  1. Selecting an area in Orbx, in my experience, actually enables all Orbx airports, everywhere in the world - you just get the terrain, landclass and object optimisations for the specific area you selected. Therefore, for example if you set FTXCentral to Europe and fly in Australia, you'll see European (currently British!) landclass changes, the terrain will not necessarily be correct, etc. If you check your scenery configuration, with any Orbx region enabled, however, you should see all the airports listed. I certainly do. Ian P.
  2. You should have a new "Tools" menu at the top, Dan - you'll find FSUIPC within it. The documentation which explains it all can be found within the "modules" folder of your flight simulator directory. Ian P.
  3. Todd, I've deleted your other two identical threads because they will just confuse matters and delay you getting a meaningful response. Can you take a look at and answer the following questions to help diagnose the exact problem, please? - Which version of FSC9 are you running? (It shows it at the bottom of the splash screen when loading). - What version of FS are you trying to connect it to? - Are you running it on the same PC, or a networked PC? - Regarding your FSUIPC installation specifically, is it registered or unregistered and what exactly version is installed? With some more information, hopefully we can give you a solution! Cheers, Ian P.
  4. Steve, There is one version of FSUIPC on the market, not numerous. It's currently up to version 3.999z8 and is available, as are all versions, here: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/ As for the rest of your question, I'm not sure you understand what FSUIPC is and does. At its heart, it is a method of allowing external programs (e.g. radars, moving maps, flight planners) to talk to FS internal functions. The core base functionality does NOT require registration. It's free to download and install from the link above. It will ask you to enter a registration number after install, just cancel it if you don't have a registration key. What you get by registering is "all the bells and whistles" - the ability to change settings within FS, set up controls in ways that FS won't allow, run LUA code and much more... You don't need that, though, if all you want to do is use it to interface between, say, a radar on an aircraft panel and FSX. By the sound of it, all you want and need is the free functionality. Download and install FSUIPC 3.999z8 and see if it does what you need without registering - I suspect it will. Cheers, Ian P.
  5. Hello. If you read the announcement at the top of the forum, Pete is away for a few days, but will be able to answer your question when he returns, if no-one else who has done this sees your question in the interim. Ian P. Forum admin.
  6. Plan G can use either FSUIPC or Simconnect - either/or are options. Ian P.
  7. I think you misunderstand. You CAN do what you want, but you SHOULD NOT use the default number keys to do it. You could use a modifier key (shift, ctrl) and the number keys, but the straight number keys (1,2,3, etc.) are used by many hard-coded functions, as Andy says, and you should never try and use them for anything else or there will be conflicts. Try using shift-1, shift-2, shift-3, etc and I think you'll find it will work perfectly. Ian P.
  8. As per the sticky at the top of the page, Pete is away at the moment. If no-one else can help in the meantime, Pete will respond as soon as he returns. Cheers, Ian P.
  9. Lee, If you go to your simMarket account, which you used to purchase the license key, it will tell you exactly which version it is for. You can either check under "my downloads" or "my orders". Ian P.
  10. I use FSUIPC3 and 4 on the same computer without any issues, as do many other people. It's possible that this is actually a windows problem, which has affected FSUIPC, rather than an FSUIPC problem in and of itself. Unfortunately Pete is away at the moment and won't be back until Tuesday so you will need to wait a couple of days for a response from him. Sorry for the delay! Ian P.
  11. Hello, I've underlined Pete's original requests in the quote below. Ian P.
  12. No problem - sorry the last post was a bit abrupt! I've just checked the user manual and the settings within PlanG itself. Inside PlanG, under File, Settings, FS Connection, there are radio button options for FSUIPC/WideFS, Simconnect or XPUIPC (the latter is for X-Plane). The manual also has a pretty good explanation of how to set up Simconnect on both the "server" and "client" PCs, which the OP may find useful. Cheers, Ian P.
  13. PlanG only requires FSUIPC/WideFS to connect to FS9. It can use either FSUIPC/WideFS or Simconnect to connect to FSX. Ian P.
  14. His details were deleted last night by another moderator and he has just posted them again. Pete will probably invalidate them when he gets home anyway, now. ivans71: NEVER post license details on a public forum! Ian P.
  15. I'll try and sort it over the weekend for you. Cheers, Ian P.
  16. Have you read this thread under FAQ? http://forum.simflight.com/topic/68382-fsx-fails-to-run-after-fsuipc4-first-installed/ Cheers, Ian P.
  17. Hello Ken, Welcome to the simFlight forums. First of all, I moved your question to the support forum, where it is more likely to be spotted than FAQ by Pete. Secondly, as FSUIPC4 is a complete full new build of the software, no, keys for the two are not applicable to each other - FSUIPC3 keys will work with any 3.xx version and FSUIPC4 keys will only work with any 4.xx version. The simMarket product page for FSUIPC4 (http://secure.simmarket.com/pete-dowson-fsuipc4.phtml) does detail a discount, depending on when you bought FSUIPC3. I'm not sure whether it is still valid, but as it is still shown on the page, I presume that it is. Pete may be able to confirm that when he next visits the forums. Cheers, Ian P.
  18. I think that at least in an early version of Airbus X, they definitely did go into DirectX to make the Airbus throttle system "work", because it was not compatible with FSUIPC calibration. I don't know whether I still have access to the beta forum for AirbusX - probably not, as it will have been closed quite some time ago now - but I do seem to remember that functionality being changed because a lot of people used FSUIPC to assign throttles for everything else. Ian P.
  19. We had this discussion a while ago over a different issue and Pete confirmed that, while WideFS used to require a registered copy of FSUIPC, either/or can now be licensed individually. The only limitation is that if both are registered, the registrations must use the same user name (the e-mail address can be different). Cheers, Ian P.
  20. BOB is an aircraft, just one with the flight dynamics designed to stop him flying and some good camera effects and sounds. ;) He is very useful, though. Cheers, Ian P.
  21. Hello. WideFS cannot be used without registering, sorry. There is no trial or shareware version of it. WideFS can, these days, be licences without requiring a license for FSUIPC. Best regards, Ian P.
  22. "Installing and Registering FSUIPC4.pdf" works fine on my PC (version 4.90) when opened in Adobe Reader XI. If I try and open it in a text editor (e.g. notepad), rather than a PDF reader, I see what you have posted above. What are you trying to open it with? Cheers, Ian P.
  23. It would help if you had posted in the correct forum! ;) Sorry I haven't seen this before. I'll move it to Pete Dowson's support forum. Ian P.
  24. The link at the Schiratti site and the links in the forum here both point to the same files, so either will work. Personally, I'd use the ones in the forum, but that's just because you're here already. ;) Cheers, Ian P.
