  1. I'm not Pete, sorry, but can answer the question. Install over the top - FSUIPC will retain your existing configuration data if you do. In case you aren't sure, you can back up your .ini and .key files before installing. Cheers, Ian P.
  2. Peter will hopefully confirm this soon, but I'm certain that the appropriate version of FSUIPC will obtain the location of its version of FS9/X from the registry. Regarding registration, yes, your current details will still work - please ensure that you use exactly the same details that you used when originally purchasing the license, however. Cheers, Ian P.
  3. Alan, Just checking here, because I'm getting confused, let alone anyone else, but are ALL your connected computers on the same IP range - i.e. 192.168.x.x or (not and) 10.x.x.x? If one is on 192.168.x.x and the other on 10.x.x.x then that's in all probability the issue. Provided you only have one DHCP server live - or use all fixed IPs - then both your wireless and wired connections should all be on the same subnet, not different ones. Cheers, Ian P.
  4. Hi Alan, it's not supported by FS as default, so no, there won't be. Any "Ground Power" function will be part of the aircraft package that you see it in, which will mean local variables and finding them for each package. Sorry! Cheers, ian P.
  5. Jim, You only need to register FSUIPC if you intend to use its paid for features. If you are only using it to interface another application to the sim, you do not need to register it and can just not register on that page. Full details on the difference between registered and unregistered FSUIPC (as well as full installation instructions) are in the downloaded zip file. You can purchase a license, if you want to, here: http://secure.simmarket.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=FSUIPC However, I strongly suspect that you won't need a license to run FS Instant Approach and can bypass registration. Cheers, Ian P.
  6. You'll probably want to wait until Pete is back, Alan. Sorry. Ian P.
  7. Personal; preference, but I tend to find "decrease fast" works better than "slow". For either you'll need the "repeat while button held" option set, so ultimately it makes little difference. Ian P.
  8. Pete is on holiday right now. He'll respond on his return, if no-one else is able to before then.
  9. I don't know whether the PMDG aircraft will use the default TOGA command (which does actually exist... whoops, sorry!) - if it doesn't, what you might have to do is to assign a keystroke to TOGA in the PMDG settings and bind that to a button using FSUIPC "on press". Cheers, Ian P.
  10. Hello Jim, Is this in an add-on? If so, which one? I don't think there is a default FS9 or FSX control for TOGA(*), which is why there won't be one on the drop-down list. The usual method is that most add-on developers will have or will allow a keyboard control to be allocated to the function, in which case mapping that to the button on your quad would be the best solution. (* - I don't have a list in front of me, so stand to be corrected on this). Cheers, Ian P.
  11. FS Developer (http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/index.php) is often a good place to try as well. Cheers, Ian P.
  12. I'll try again with today's update for AVAST and if it still reports as a false positive, I'll report it directly to AVAST. They're usually pretty good at resolving them. Regarding Quarantine folders, I just had to restore part of the HTCSync tools, which explains why that wasn't working. Go to the AVAST UI // Maintenance // Virus Chest, select WideClient.exe, right click and choose the "restore" option. It'll put it back where it removed the file from. Cheers, Ian P.
  13. I don't know for certain - it didn't delete mine, it just blocked me from downloading a copy, but it's probably in a quarantine folder somewhere. I've never had to rescue a file quarantined by AVAST, so I'm not sure where it hides them, sorry. Possibly the settings in the AVAST UI might tell you? Ian P.
  14. AVAST turned around and informed me that WideClient was a virus yesterday as well when I tried to download it. It looks like their heuristics have decided to pick on it for some reason. Ian P.
  15. Guenther, Your original post did get through - I responded to it at the time and will say exactly the same things here. 1) NEVER EVER post serial codes or registration keys on an open forum. 2) Your information will be on your simMarket account, where you purchased the license from. If you log back in to there and go to your account, you will find all the information you need to register FSUIPC. Cheers, Ian P.
  16. The simple answer is "no". The WideFS server module is part of FSUIPC4 and the only part of WideFS you would need - if you were using it, which you aren't - would be the client, on another computer. Sorry, but that won't help. You'll need to talk to Pete about crashes and lock-ups though. I'm afraid I can't help there. Ian P.
  17. Apparently not. They only changed WideFS7. I'll pass that on. ;) Cheers, Ian P.
  18. With apologies for the deviation from topic (entirely my fault!), the notes on the product page have been changed: "REQUIREMENTS FSX, Prepar3D FSUIPC4 Note: If both WideFS and FSUIPC are registered, both registrations must use the same user name. THIS VERSION IS ONLY FOR FSX NO REFUNDS GIVEN!" I'll crawl back into my admin-shaped hole now and stop issuing incorrect advice. Sorry about that. Ian P.
  19. Unless you'd rather do so, I'll have a word with folks from simMarket and see if we can disambiguate it to match what you've said here. Cheers, Ian P.
  20. "REQUIREMENTS FSX, Prepar3D FSUIPC4 WITH KEY ISSUED TO THE SAME NAME IS REQUIRED THIS VERSION IS ONLY FOR FSX NO REFUNDS GIVEN!" That's where I got it from Pete, on the product page. Thanks for the clarification! Cheers, Ian P.
  21. As per the information provided on the product page, WideFS only works with a registered version of FSUIPC, using the same name for both licenses. Do you have a registration for FSUIPC as well and is it registered to exactly the same username? Ian P.
  22. "Legacy mode" is a function of the FSX to P3D migration tool, Pete. It convinces add-ons that P3D is FSX to allow them to run when they are coded to specifically work with FSX. Ian P.
  23. Hi. A key for FSUIPC4 is valid for all 4.xxx versions. Ian P.
