Hi Jez,
the FSCommander is not a FMS/FMC (Flight Management Computer).
The Button Autoheading uses only lateral navigation.
In other words, the pilot is responsible for the altitude management.

That's the naming convention for the Navigraph data updates...
FSC_1102.zip is the latest incarnation of their file. I just downloaded it to check.

Hi Ian,

I downloaded version 9 and registered it. However, when I run the installation, it tells me it is installing version 7/8. What do I need to do for it to install version 9?
Hi Todd,
would you please, after you have read this here:
tell us the necessary information here.

Hi Bill,
I have no idea how to help you.
If the correct URL is used then it should work on your PC as well as for all other users.
This is not a FSCommander problem but may be a problem on your PC.

I am trying to update my FSC with the lastest Navigraph Airac cycle 1102 (10th February 2011)
My FSC is installed in "F:\Program files\FlightSimCommander"
So I select that filepath and the installation reads as 'successful' - but when starting FSC it is still showing the older Airac version is valid. So that update has not worked.
I then tried the filepath "F:\Program files\FlightSimCommander\database" but that shows a dialogue box "wrong fsc main folder"
What is the correct filepath please - can anyone help?
Hi anonymous,

Hi Murray,
have you read the current manual, Chapter 18 Ivao and VATSIM flights, paragraph A note on VATSIM and IVAO airspaces.
Another problem is that we have no access to the data of the VATSIM airspace structure.

Now that we're on the subject-how do you keep the GE map centered on the aircraft icon?
Right now I have to drag the map constantly to keep from losing the a/c.
Eytan
Hi Eytan,
this possibility is not provided by us, because the frame rate is reduced dramatically in the flight simulator.

Also: die AFCAD habe ich gefunden. ( Beinhaltet AF2_LFRS_FVF.BGL )
Im FS9 richtet sich der Flieger auf 71 und im FSX auf die aktuellen 69 Grad aus.
Die FSC9 Daten basieren (wie angezeigt) auf den AF2_eddf_Gap-Te file.
Oliver Pabst v. Aerosoft meinte der Fehler würde v. FSC9 herkommen.
Hi Günther,
1. AF2_LFRS_FVF.BGL ist kein AFCad File für Frankfurt
2. Die MagVar im FS9 beträgt W01 im FSX E01, also 2° Differenz 71 -> 69

Gruss

Hi,
please test the following solution:
1. open the file FSC.INI with an editor
2. search for following entry "FSX="
3. replace the existing number by a "0" (zero)
4. it should look like "FSX=0"
5. save the file and run the program
Regards,
Volker
btw. do not forget to update your current version

i was wondering if there is a way to find a gate faster. this is my problem. i work for a virtual airline and when i land at KDEN in denver i have to go to gate B49. in the parking button it doesn't say anything about the B. is there something i am missing i want to make sure i go to the right gate.
thanks in advance.
kevin
p.s running version 8.6
Hi Kevin,
the FSCommander can only display parking positions he has previously read in the Airport file. Thus, if parking position B49 is not displayed, the position are not found in the Airport file.
Read also the manual chapter 2.1 Updating airport files.

Thanks for your steady support.
I will try again to see if I'm doing it right.
If it doesn't work-no problem, FSC9 is still a great program without the GE connection.
I fly IFR so it doesn't really matter about GE.
Eytan
Hi Eytan,
I can not understand why it does not work for you.
It has first been problems with GE but were solved by the bugfix.
I keep my fingers cross that you find a solution.

Is that what the >> is at the start of UL602 I didnt see that in the manual. Thank you for the quick response.
That will make life much easier.
Thank you,
C Jordan
Hi C Jordan
this is exactly what it means. "<<<" westbound or Even and ">>>" eastbound or Odd.
Regards,
Volker
-
It keeps putting UL604 between NERDI and MAKOL, it is supposed to be UL602.
I don't even see a UL604 near those points
C Jordan
Hi C Jordan,
the program can not use the airway UL602 on the way eastbound to HECA
because the airway UL602 goes westbound.
This information based on the current airac cycle 1101.

Hi C Jordan
It doesn't seem to work in all cases. I have found quite a few mostly in Europe. Can you give us some example?
And also why won't it find the shortest route when clicking on the button HIGH ALT PLAN.There is no way to cross the pound from the USA to Europe without using a NATrack, because there no airway exist .

Hi guys,
Wonder if someone can help me. I've got WideFS working with Squawkbox and ActiveSky. I installed FSC9 on my laptop (XP) to communicate with my desktop (Windows 7 x64). I have mapped the folder C:/Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator 9 on my desktop as drive Z: on the laptop. And C:/Users/Koosey (me) on the desktop as drive X: on the laptop. The database updater of FSC9 sees this fine, and says FS drive is located, press update. But when I do I get a file/path 75 error, please check the error log.
I have read the post at the top of this forum but I don't understand what I have done wrong. I have set all permissions on my desktop so anyone can read/write/execute files.
Thanks
Tom
Hi Tom,
please read here:
and write in your next post the necessary information,in particular I need the FSCommand Build Date.

Hi Eytan,

I've installed FSC 9.0.02 from the CD and tired to update the AIRAC to the current 1101. I have XP Home and FS2004. I'm directing the installer to C:\Aerosoft\FSC9
The installer runs and finishes with notification that the update has been successful but on opening FSC the introduction screen still shows the 1011 version from the original installation. I've updated to ver 9.0.0.4 and tried again but sill no sign of the current AIRAC.
In Windows explorer I can still see the VOR.fsc NDB.fsc etc files dated 26/10/2010.
What's gone wrong?
GeoffB
Hi GeoffB,
we have not written the installer, please contact the Navigraph support here: http://forum.navigraph.com/forum/default.aspx?g=topics&f=3

Hi Eytan,
if you have the OS WIN 7, please read this:
http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66198-vista-and-windows-7-users-please-read/
and make sure that you are sure that you have done so.
It's very, very important that you have install the FSCommander as Administrator.

How do you change the altitude in GE from standard 3k to a higher position?
regards
Robert
Hi Robert,
maybe you find some information while click on "help" in GE or here: http://earth.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=de&answer=188201 or here
http://earth.google.com/support/bin/static.py?page=guide_toc.cs .

I have all the updates but still the Show position in GE option is inactive.
Also inside GE there is no FSC option under temp places.
How is FSC supposed to be recognized in GE? Is there something I must do for this?
Eytan
Hi Eytan,
have you changed the path in FSCommander Options for GE to
/Program Files/Google/GoogleEarth/client ?

Hi Jez,
I would also recommend you read the manual.
Zooming with the mouse wheel is explained and described in the manual from page 106 and below.
(Chapter 19, Options Windows, paragraph Flight)
